Anepou was desperate. He was utterly and completely desperate to get a shower. His skin was crawling, he was caught up in a constant dizzy mental spiral that nearly caused him to go into panic mode, thinking about how he was NOT CLEAN, he was covered in germs, he was going to die from the germs. Part of him was utterly convinced they were going to eat him alive somehow. He had even begun to, very mildly, twitch a little from the anxiety rolling through his body. How could they not yet have hot water on the First Floor? It wasn't fair at all, that. Trainees worked hard too, in training. They deserved a chance to be clean, a chance not to feel like walking filth.
He stumbled a little as he walked through the halls, wondering what he could do to get access to a shower. Did he have to kill some one? He'd rather not, to be honest. But if he had to go on the worst scouting mission, as long as he had access to a shower, he would at this point, his desperation levels had hit so high. He'd even go deal with the shadows of Cairo, which still gave him nightmares, even though he could now fight them. He paused, leaning against a wall, a defeated expression on his face. He didn't even have much to wear, to put on if he got clean. What would he do? No, he knew that answer. He'd be willing to walk around in his one clean pair of jeans and tshirt, old and ratty as they were, while he washed what he wore, if he got a CHANCE to get clean. Anything to be clean.

Shaheen had just descended from the second floor of the dormitories to the first, a towel in hand that she had used to help dry her long, blonde, freshly showered locks. She was still damp, dressed in clothes she wouldn't have normally bothered with, except that, for the moment, it was all she had that was at least clean, a pair of blue jeans, a sleeveless blue tank with eyeball pattern, and a pair of boots with rainbow accents.
She felt foolish, but at least she smelled great.
As she made her way down the hallway towards the laundry room, where she could dispose of the towel in hand, she noticed Ane, who she mostly recognized because they were in the same division, which meant working in the same building, and often partnered on external missions.
She thought about ignoring him, as she went past. They weren't friends, by any means, though Shaheen could also argue that she didn't have any of those to speak of. On top of that, he looked....distraught? Almost crazed, even, and she did not want to end up accidentally subjecting herself to somebody else's crazy.
So, she turned her head as she went striding past, to study a very interesting wall, the fresh scent of some type of fruity shampoo and flowery soap wafting off of her, all while fervently hoping he didn't try to engage with her.

Ane saw Shaheen walking by, but didn't really process much about what was going on at first, not even the towel in her hand. Then the wave of shampoo and soap hit him, and his head jerked up. She had been able to have a shower. That's right. She was on the second floor! She had hot water. He trembled with envy and shock, and a hint of anger at the people who hadn't fixed access for the first floor yet. He almost let her go by, because after all, his problems weren't hers, he barely knew her, and she probably thought he was a twerp.
Almost, but the need to be clean won, his fear won, and he finally looked at her and spoke. "Shaheen..." Only a fool would be unable to hear how desperate he sounded. "Shaheen. I know you guys on the second floor have hot water." He bit his lip, hard enough to make incredibly red indents, not quite enough to break the skin, before he continued. This wasn't the kind of thing he was good at all. "You guys can take showers... We don't have hot water down here yet. They haven't fixed our access." He shuddered, and took a deep, slow breath. "I need a hot shower. I need to get clean. Being dirty is driving me nearly literally up the wall. Is there any way, any thing, I can do to convince you to let me borrow your shower?" His dark eyes were huge, pleading and... almost hopeless.

s**t, he was calling to her. For a split second, Shaheen debated the merits of bolting down the hallway, and whether she could pull off such a feat while still maintaining her dignity and poise.
No, probably not.
Letting out an audible sigh, her eyes closing, she stopped and turned, eyes blinking open again, lips pursed, her irritation very clear in her gaze.
"Look, Ane, I---" Have very important things to be attending to, is where that sentence was leading, but something about the desperate look in his eyes made her pause just long enough for him to cut in, and what he had to say, the apparent reason for his complete disarray, had her eyebrows climbing almost off of her face.
"A shower." She deadpanned at him, blinking once, and then twice.
