[ TASK ]
As one of our clever ponies at the tech Stable, your job is to fix customer's technology and troubleshoot it while making as much money as possible, making sure to fit and maintain our monitoring implants and software in the process.

[ MECHANICS ]
Roll 1d6 twice, each roll is half the day.

  1. - The hardware you are brought is a complete mess, it's screen is cracked in a way you can't replace, it simply won't boot correctly or it has been in some sort of terrible sticky accident. All you can do is commemorate its memory and send the customer over to your colleague on the shop floor, losing your commission in the process.
  2. - The fix is easy, the customer isn't very tech savvy and had simply tripped a background setting without meaning to, you can fix it in five minutes but those five minutes cost them dearly.
  3. - Somehow this customer has managed to break the monitoring process on their device, taking them off of the collective data grid, this has in essence bricked their tech, they bring it to you, you easily reinstall the spyware and they are on their way.
  4. - Some piece of hardware needs replaced, it is easily done but you tell them it will take 24 hours and charge them incredible prices for the part they need.
  5. - The customer wants nothing more than to talk to you about the store, the products, the CEO and everything else and none of your social hints to go away seem to work on them, delaying you in your work for half the morning
  6. - The hardware is outdated but somehow you get it running again, Tyr stops by and offers the customer a discount on an upgrade to a more modern product which they take and end up spending a great deal more than they meant to that day on in-store financing.

Cadence was going undercover in a horseman tech company today. Her job was to fix what ever the client had broken. There was a handy manual that runs through the software repairs and a binder with schematics and illustration of how to take the computer apart to fix it. Which was very hand.

Still she was here on a mission, which involved customer service meaning it was not going to be fun. Why did she have to get stuck in the retail decision. Her internal whining stopped when a customer approached and handed her a very messed up laptop.

The poor computer was covered in some strange sticky substance that looked like a mix between different glues including superglue, and something like molasses. She really didn't want to know what it was let alone touch it. There where marks on the computer and a few keys missing.

Turns out the owner had tried to get the substance off before bringing it in which resulted in them scratching the computer and pulling off the keys. Putting on some gloves she tried to get the substance off but it was no avail, even the company's computer wipes and computer safe liquid cleaners (how where those a thing??) couldn't remove the substance from the computer so she was force to give up after trying for a half hour or so.

"I'm sorry there is nothing we can do for this computer." She said before showing the customer to the sales floor where they could by a new computer.

Chao could not believe it, right after she finished dealing with the sticky mess monstrosity of a laptop another customer comes up and their computer is destroyed. How do people mange to break their stuff so much? And so badly.

The screen was shattered, the frame was busted and one of the hinges holding the screen to the keyboard was broken off. She was not surprised that the computer refused to boot with how badly damaged the computer was. She sent the customer off to the sales floor like the last one before checking out for the day.
