With the amount of time they had known each other, Maple could honestly say she would have rather avoided the other Hunter all together. More than anyone. And everyone, because when did she ever want to have conversations anyways? It was really a full on effort. On missions in particular, assignments to the Sun Division and even just around the island.
Andrew really just had a knack of getting under everyone's skin and the conversations on their chat system was just more evidence. More fuel that she did not want to get involved in, even if she was a little curious regarding the little snippets she had managed to skim across. Something she was going to maybe get answered and addressed when she suddenly found herself in the particular situation she kind of didn't want.
By running into him. Thankfully not literally but close enough to startle her while she made her way out of the mess hall. She stared wide eyed at the male Hunter until her eyes slightly narrowed and she pulled out her phone to hold up to his face. "Wh-what d-did you d-do now?"

Andrew had been minding his own business. Really he had been. Ok so he had picked a new target recently to harass, but he was bored and needed to get some entertainment in somewhere.
But he wasn't expecting someone he hadn't seen in a while to suddenly call him on it an shove a phone into his nose.
"Oh hey Maple." he looked her over. He hadn't gotten enough time to process her before she engaged him. That was rare.
"What do you mean what did I do?" he actually looked at the phone.

Andrew -journal Sun division specialized hunter Arcana: death (Group d) wild arcana Andrew probably doesn't like you. If he's smiling something is either on fire or he recently pulled something off and you don't want to know. Otherwise he doesn't smile.
Andrew didn't have the phone nearly smashed in his face for long until Maple pulled it back to face her, her finger sliding along the surface to scroll backwards at the chat interface. "A f-few p-people seem angry w-with you in the ch-chat," she explained with a frown. Mostly to him. Really Andrew, like you didn't know. (Unless there was more than one incident now).
"Wh-what d-did you d-do to this R-riley?" A number of things came to mind, several of them had been done to her after all. Even just speaking to people seemed to spark something it seemed. Really Andrew.

"I didn't do anything." he didn't hurt her. For crying out loud.
"I just beat her in jousting and moved her desk a bit." It wasn't anything too terrible. But he didn't like her. He didn't like anyone.
"People just like to exaggerate and make drama out of no where. Just like you are doing now."
There was a pointed look as Maple finally put her phone away into the inner pocket of her vest. It was hard to tell if she believed him, that it was something so small that had started a whole thing on the chat window - allowing other people to join in and voice their own opinions.
But, then again it was extremely likely given how it was how their current relationship had grown as it hard; that tiny spark that had rolled downhill to just loathing by either party. It was a gift Andrew possessed, a terrible one to bring out such emotions. Did he enjoy it? Seemed like he did. (Maybe it wasn't a terrible thing also, a little voice said that was not Rose at all. Then everyone would avoid her too!) - Rose chimed in with a very long string of how that was awful thinking and if that ever happened again there would be consequences.
"I'm n-not!" Wait, yes she was. Her mouth snapped shut and her cheeks got a little red. "Y-you s-start these c-confront-tations though."

"Not my fault everyone hates me." he shrugged. "I mean you don't like me either. So you see, I stopped caring a long time ago what other people think."
He didn't have friends. and on this island wasn't likely to make any. He didn't really quiet understand that it was himself that caused people to hate him in 10 seconds flat. It just happened. So he had learned to roll with it.
"I mean what are you going to do? Teach me how to no piss people off? People get pissed wither you are being nice or rude, so I might as well just do what I want."
Maple's eyes darted about, a little past Andrew as she mulled over this conversation. Why was she even still here talking to him about all this; the same conclusion was always reached, wasn't it? Sometimes she even tried to be civil to no avail.
< Maybe deep down you do kind of care, dear? > The voice in her head suggested with a chuckle, as taking a clue from Andrew's own words spat at her. Like she was going to teach him to like people.
"I n-never suggest-ted I w-would d-do anything!" This was both to the Rose and Andrew both, and maybe a little bit too much emotion in those words as she seemed to bristle. "Y-you br-bring this upon y-yourself.. d-don't bl-blame others f-for n-not g-getting along w-with y-you." Now she was on the defensive, stuttering even more.
Why, why did she start this conversation. Damn you curiosity and the timing of running into him. But now she was going to end it, because it was a pointless conversation to begin with and was going to end up no where but him yelling at her some more and making her feel horrible or something. Mustering up something, Maple brushed past him and left the area.

Andrew puffed about ready to start with another defense but she left taking the air out of his lungs. He could blame whoever he wanted. He pouted as he was left standing alone in the hall.
