It had been some time since Birch had won the heart of the still younger medic. The chemist had held her heart as first sight though she hadn't said anything until the end of that first meet, she had adored him. The kind and loving male had made her feel special despite her dark and light fur and feathers. Not many other griffins would have even given her a second glance over but him, it was as if a red string drew them together. They had made her hollow a split between her medic things and his shop. Then turned his old shop into their home hollow. A special place to them both where they had began their strong bond.
Then there came the large happy surprise of a clutch of eggs that Birch had tended to very diligently with her coming in every once in a while due to learning or taking care of others. He had been the best choice she would remark later as she waited for the day the eggs were hatching. Darkhollow was watching intently, her talons just touching Birch's fur in excitement. Here were her babies! No no, not just her babies but also Birch's. Their babies!
"Oh my." She cooed watching them shake and crack, "Hit it a little harder my loves." Of course she would help them in case they were having a tough time.A large crack shuddered from egg as a tip of a beak poked from under the shell. Another crack and the young male toppled forward. His beautiful red-gold eyes looked at the two griffins. A soft blink from one eye and then the other. A few clicks with the beak and his tiny poked out from under. Absolute goof. The third egg to have cracked open, but the first to break through completely.
The beautiful calico male made a few peeping noises as he rolled just a bit in the nest. Staring right back at the three other eggs that were breaking apart."Grifflet three, but first one out! Biiiiirch!" Darkhollow making many different trills of happiness. Of course he was seeing everything that she was but she just felt so excited with her very first clutch of eggs.Did this in order for dad, the first one to crack the egg, second, (my third but first out), and fourth crack, of course any one of you can go for the second out out and so on. Edit: Sorry for the pings guys updating images.

To say that Birch was excited would be an understatement. The chemist had long since been mated to his trade, ever since his graduation, and he hadn't much thought about having a family. It eked about at the back of his mind as he went about his daily tasks about the old medicine shop. The day that Darkhollow came in looking for stock was the day his quiet, predictable life had been dumped on its head. The day that they moved his stores from his platform and to her station had been one of the most exciting and nerve wracking days of his life, or at least it had been until this very moment.
They had four beautiful eggs, which he had doted and warmed with feathers and fur plucked from his own breast, and they were finally hatching.
"Oh Darkhollow, he's gorgeous!" He couldn't keep the joy from his voice even if he had wanted to. His chest swelled with pride as he watched the little male tumble and roll. While he had been a father when his mate had laid their perfect eggs, now he truly felt it in his bones. He knew at that moment that he'd always give the fur off his back to make sure his precious grifflets were safe.

Confined. Would have been the way the babe would have described her space. As she grew and became wholly conscious of her existence she desired to be free. Now that the time had come she wasn't as eager. The shell had become a safe place, one that protected her and kept her warm. It was the case that she didn't realize her true caretakers were waiting on the otherside. For her they appeared as shadows at first.
Then the cooing of delight. Voices that had been a constant rumbling outside the confine had begun again. A loud crack told her that one of her other siblings had shown themself. An assumption she felt confident she could make. Still - was it safe? The question floated about in her mind for some time, not long, perhaps seconds had passed by before she made her final choice.
As silently as she could be she began to tap away at her shell. Of course the task was not a quiet one and so her arrival wouldn't have been any less expected. With a few more studious taps she had done it. A swoosh of fresh air hit her hard, but her lungs adapted. Smells, an array of them, enveloped her senses and nearly overwhelmed her. The first ones she could smell were familiar. Family. She trilled softly at first, but that small sound grew a small bit as she became excited at the notion of no longer being alone. Not that she really had been.
Not long after her first small broken piece she found herself entirely free, though with the way she'd broken herself free, choosing a less messy method she was left with an eggshell cap atop her head. Leaving quite an adorable picture that was only enhanced by large curious eyes that opted to stare up at her family. But the gryphon herself grew silent.
[I'd like to name her Tawny btw. <3]

Next came the second egg to shudder and release the adorable griffin within. A lighter colored grifflet, more of her fathers colors for sure. Second laid and second to hatch! Amazing! Making little cooing noises she came up closer, bringing her first hatched boy and the first hatched girl together.
"One girl and one boy." Then she looked in anticipation at the other two eggs. What little surprises would they hold inside?
Though she wanted to go and help them this was a huge step. It had been terrifying for her when she had cracked open her egg's shell. She had been greeted by a friendly enough face but she had never felt connected to that griffin, as if she knew it wasn't her parents. She had imprinted on the faces that surrounded her though, always knowing she was going to be taken care of until she could contribute to the commonwealth. She hoped her babies knew that they connected.
"Got any ideas for names?" Looking from her two babies to Birch. The honey eyed boy looked from the two griffins for a moment before looking to see another emerge from their shell. A few blinks before feeling himself get pulled into the large females warmth. Mom. This warm body was mom. Though he snuck away and cuddled up to Birch. Dad.
The one still being held onto by mom was a sister. Then he looked around. Two more eggs were there... cracked but unopened. Two more siblings!
