Every inch of the mist hunter's body screamed not to take this particular infiltration mission, but sometimes you had to do what your superiors told you. Shik had thought getting specialization would have helped with the whole "less being bossed around" part, but clearly he was wrong. (Someone had told him as much before, but he hadn't listened.) At first when the tech had said "treatment center", he thought it was a blessing in disguise. Then they said it was run by ******** tried not to shiver as he walked through the portal...and right into chaos.
Several attendants in the building immediately latched onto him and asked for help. After a few seconds of asking them to calm own, Shik found out that a batch of maggot farms had disappeared, and they needed help figuring out what to tell their boss. Luckily, he was good at bullshitting on the fly and helped create a story. When they approached their boss together, Shik told him that one of the maggots had mutated at random and eaten the others; it had to be disposed of, but it would be replaced shortly.

Their supervisor seemed to believe the story; at any rate, he wasn't immediately fired on the spot. The attendants gave him their thanks (one being much too touchy, apparently not put off by Shik's body odor) before directing him towards something called The Moth Room. "It needs cleaning," the attendant said with a smile. "As our thanks, you'll get to do it today!"
"Mm...sure?" Shik couldn't help but give the place a look, but he was nudged in with his cleaning supplies before he could think to bullshit his way out of the task. Damn it.
The place itself wasn't too creepy. It had plenty of moths, sure, but they didn't look like the poisonous type. Still, Shik kept away from them whenever possible and shifted as they did, making odd circles about the room to avoid the bulk. He didn't know when the effects hit him. All he knew was that the room was starting to change color, the walls shifted in psychedelic motions, and...huh...this was a nice high...
