It was a beautiful day within the Endless Canyon. His minder had been teaching him to fly and he was starting to learn about his apprenticeship. Little Turquoise was at least happy for the reprieve away from everything and to just take a moment to himself. The grifflet still kept an eye on his minder who seemed to be following him a little, far enough to give him room but close enough that were something to happen they could get there quick enough. Being relatively careful as he moved along, sometimes swooping near the ground.
Settling down in just one spot near the blacksmiths at work. It was always interesting to watch them hoping one day he could join them to make beautiful creations. Then he noticed someone else. Who was that? At least another grifflet was around. She looked like she was learning to fly too.
"Hi!" He called out before taking off too. Wanted to show off his beautiful light tan wings and flying skills.

Onyx had just decided that flying was, quite possibly, the grandest thing in all the world. She was actually a little angry that she had spent all this time walking. Angry at what, the grifflet couldn't say - but surely there was someone who could have clued her in about the magical things her wings could do a bit sooner! If only she didn't get tired quite so often, she would spend forever in the sky.
Thus, the little lady had decided that she had to strengthen her wings as soon as possible. It was here Turquoise found her, trying her best to hover for as long as she could before sinking to a convenient, broad branch again. She rested for a bit, but wasn't down for long before she willed her burgeoning wings lift her airborne once more.
"Hey," she replied. It was a nice enough greeting, if a little preoccupied. Pushing one's limits was really, really tiring. Still, eyes like dark marbles watched his approach with interest, all agleam and tail lashing. "You're pretty good! You been learnin' long?"
