[ JOB LISTING ] Loan shark

[ DIFFICULTY LEVEL ] gaia_star gaia_star gaia_star

[ TASK ] It's time to call in some loans - aka the bank's most formidable and infamous task, what they're best known for. Luna - or rather, Luna's assistants - have scheduled you some interviews with people who are behind on their loan payments.

[ MECHANICS ] Roll 1d100 and see how well you've fared. You may have two clients a day.

  • 01 - 15 - The person you've been instructed to speak to is a young teenager who keeps crying everywhere. It's a little flustering to try and talk when someone is sobbing on your shoulder...needless to say. Luna simply hands you a tissue to figure things out, and you have snot on your shoulder. ( fail )

  • 16 - 30 - A set of triplets has arrived to claim their reasoning for being behind on their small business loan. All of them are quite cheerful, but sometimes too much talking gets confusing; fortunately, you can sort through all of their yammering in order to get them to pay a portion back. Luna is satisfied. ( pass )

  • 31 - 45 - Your patron looks so much like someone you know that it throws you off your game for a few seconds. Luna seems to think this is quite normal; maybe it's just one of those weird doppleganger coincidences. Either way, you're comfortable speaking with them. ( pass )

  • 46 - 60 - You spend the appointment reminiscing with an elderly patron who just seemed to want to talk. Luna, although still quiet, seems strangely satisfied with this outcome and gives you one of their rare nods of approval by the end. ( pass )

  • 61 - 75 - You flirt your way to getting a payment with your patron. Or, if you're not good at flirting, you're good at persuading somehow. They flirt back, but alas, it's not meant to be. Still, they're good natured about it, and so are you (hopefully). ( fail )

  • 76 - 90 - Your patron has a puppy that you get completely distracted by - whether in a good way or a bad way, regardless, you completely forget your original goal.( fail )

  • 91 - 100 - You meet with a high profile client who is as smooth as a shark and as cool as a cucumber. Nothing you say and do can ruffle them, but in spite of this, Luna is satisfied when you managed to skillfully get them to repay a portion of their owed money. ( pass )

Zere didn't mind talking to clients, but it was people that cried that bugged him the most.

He winced as there was a teenager that sat in his chair, and before they could even finish a sentence -- they ended up sobbing on the desk, blubbering on about how they couldn't make the payment because of some reason he couldn't quite make out.

Zere took out the box of tissues (he was very glad they were in the drawer, otherwise he'd be at a loss for what to give them), and set them in front of the teenager who took three.

All Zere could do was watch as they tried to tell their story, but ended up sobbing more after every third word or so.

Eventually, Zere shook his head and told them to come back later.

There wasn't much more he could do -- so he sent them on their way, and ignored Luna's glare.

His second client startled him, and Zere had to do a double take, staring at them for a long moment until he collected his thoughts.

He swore they looked so familiar... but he couldn't quite place them.

It was shocking and strange.

Shaking his head, Zere smoothed his fingers through his hair and explained how much they owed, and were promptly paid without much distractions aside from that.

Thanking them for their business, Zere filled out a receipt of payment and waved as they left out of the door, finding that he was staring after them with a frown.

The Hunter was still trying to place where he'd seen them before...

DIVISION: Mist
META JOURNAL
ARCANA: Reflection
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF MY CHARACTER: Etzer is tall and well dressed, with long black hair usually tied up in some sort of ponytail. He is unusually tired all the time, and often found chewing on a food item of some sort, as well as carrying around a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book with some kind of terrible title. Who reads this rubbish?

His main weapon is a rather sizeable black whip.
