Well good god damn. Shikoba shuddered as he neared the Bates building, swathed in clothes to pass as Famine. He was lucky nobody had given him a second glance so far - just a few layers of scarves did a miracle for disguises. Horsemen were damn lazy.
Human testing. He made a face as he approached the front desk and asked about what jobs were available for the day, not bothering to hide his disgust. It didn't seem to matter to the secretary, who merely mentioned that laboratory testing did require a few part-time assistants to finish some of their experiments. Sure, he said with less enthusiasm than he probably should have been blunt with. Why not.
After gloving up, Shik was paired with a small Conquest woman with a prim look about her. She didn't give him a second glance as she instructed him with the means to create the solution. He attempted to put it together, but judging by the scowl on the horseman's face, he was failing miserably.

"Look, I'm not used to this s**t," he grumbled when the horseman pressed him to go through the steps bit by bit. Probably the wrong thing to say, given that he was masquerading as Famine Clan, but whatever.

Eventually he managed to concoct something that actually stayed together. Apparently he hadn't been using enough of XYZ chemical (Shik didn't honestly remember, his attention span had been on other things) the last few times. Now that the recipe had been followed, he had an odorless, almost water-like potion. He could easily imagine it being put in the water supply of any human town and fought not to break the glass of its container under his grip.
Administered to the guinea pig, it managed to break through the soundproofing and echoed in his ears. DeVour was pleased with the sound of course, but it gave Shik chills.
