Allen's pet store turned minipet gym was...interesting to say the least. You couldn't say the guy didn't have enthusiasm for his job, even though it was a little misplaced as far as Shik was concerned. Ah well, it was a fun spot on the island to snoop around regardless, and he was a bored, bored man.
Judging by the way the fish slapped him in the face, he doubted that would last long. Making a face, he picked the floresce up by its tail and glanced at Allen, who made it clear that it was now his to train for the tournament.
"The what? Al...right then." Might as well.
With Carpe Diem in tow, Shik went to check out the training courses.

It was honestly hilarious watching a fish throw itself at a punching bag.
It was doing its best for sure, but Shik had to stifle some snickering nonetheless. This was stupid. But it was unique. He had to respect that. Where else was he going to find entertainment with minimal efforT?

And now came the climax to this pescular escapade. It was...a jumping contest. What, so not even like a Pokemon style battle? Jesus, Allen, what a cockblock.
[ The poor little things would destroy themselves, ] DeVour noted, completely missing the point.
True to its training, however, Carpe Diem soared high when the bell rang. Shik actually cheered for it, since it was clearly putting in the effort. No wonder it had a name like that.
(73+30 = 103 > 85, success!)
