Now Shik wasn't the most mechanically minded of people, as outside knowing the ins and outs of combat and the general biology of most things he fought, he didn't think he had the dexterity to match others in his league, so why bother pursuing it. But you really, really couldn't say no to having a ******** sweet runic motorcycle for your own, okay? And he had the confidence in himself (read: the ego) to find the perfect model somewhere in the Human World.
While he did have quite a bit of money on hand due to his specialization, he wasn't keen on spending it all even on a luxury like an artifact; Shik was a little too used to having to pinch pennies in the past to splurge even on himself. So, instead of going somewhere easy like an actual vehicle outlet, the hunter found himself digging about the junkyard somewhere in South Korea. It was god damn hot, but thankfully the thin barrier from his weapon, DeVour, kept him from getting anything more than an annoying tingling.
[ Pick something pretty at least, ] said the vampire, whose metaphoric nose was up in the air. [ I don't want to ride around smelling of garbage, but if I must, at least make it good looking. ]
Yeah, yeah...
There. Shik pushed aside what looked like the remnants of a deflated 16 wheeler tire and found his guinea pig. His eyes gleamed with expectation.

Shik winced all the way back into the portal, each step accompanied by an awful screech as the torn up bike protested its revival. Not that his ears hadn't been blown out and then repaired on a number of occasions before - such was the life of a wild man with a weapon as Shik liked to live - but that didn't mean the noise couldn't pierce his skull all the same. He sighed once he was finally able to rest it in a stall at the chop shop, rubbing at his temples.
DeVour was of no help, naturally. She was a ghoul of taste and class who did nothing so greasy as what he had to do now. Perish the thought of having to check various manuals either. Between that and the labor intensive repair job, Shik's head was pounding before the motorcycle looked feasible for runic power.

This was his favorite part of the work. After taking a few aspirin and guzzling down a bottle of water, Shik grabbed a towel and a brush and got to work.
Carving runes sounded absolutely boring to him. All delicate chipping and concentration and quiet space. Runic paint, however, allowed him to pop his iPod buds in and tune out the world as he drew about the vehicle with purpose.
Previously, when he had first begun trying to make runic artifacts like these, he had been safe and stuck to the known rune sigils to make sure things worked right; runic power wasn't always reliable, and the slightest thing could make it finicky as hell. With practice and time, however, he was able to really trick out his ride with the designs he wanted, even though Shik wasn't exactly an artist. As long as it looked cool as hell, he would be satisfied.
Today's randomizing pulled out a lot of Muse and similar blood-pumping musicians, and it showed through his brushwork: the motorcycle was emblazoned with flame-like designs on the side, a dear cliche of his that he couldn't let go, which eventually morphed into wings towards the back. The runes were cooperative for the most part. Shik could see several of them shining multiple colors even. It looked as though he had lucked out and not found any duds, and he grinned to himself as he finished the details.
[ I don't understand your fascination with fire, ] DeVour said. [ It looks as though a scareling painted it. ]

So? Shik stepped back and wiped at his brow, eyeing the finished piece with pride. They can try and call it whatever they want; I'll be too busy having fun to hear them.
