Ziga was currently on a run around Emeka. He'd already done all of his morning training with his Alkidike mother, Mahaut, but that meant little in his mind. He needed to do more then just the morning training, had to get stronger, and prove that despite his strange look and gender that he was an Alkidike warrior in the making, not a weakling. There was a lot that needed to be done to show that he was worthy of the the rank of Blade. He'd never be given such a rank without putting in a lot of work first. Behind him was a growly, huffing sound, one that made him look over his shoulder for a moment before he looked forward again. It was Dinis, his stripped radaku, who was also running as a part of his training. The only one that wasn't was Siorys, but then again the Chiavi wasn't a fan of training so early. She'd tag along for training that was in the afternoon or later but otherwise she was probably fluffed up and sleeping in his room. She had proved to be a grouchy like that on many occasions since he'd gotten her but that was what he loved about the hissing bird. He'd see about poking her awake for training later since she needed to learn to fly. Once she could fly then they would have to go about the long process that was teaching her to be a viable mount for him. His antennae gave a little twitch as he looked forward once more and continued with his run. Dinis would keep up, he was loyal like that, so he didn't have to look anywhere but forward. He didn't want to appear as though he was worrying over the beast or anything, that wasn't something that he'd allow. He didn't want to look like a weakling after all, especially when many of his sisters were awake at this time of day doing training of their own.

" Welcome to Jahaur son."Just being in the forest gave him the feeling that any child would feel should one of their storybooks open up and suck them into a new world. Unlike the mountains and cold valleys of Sauti this place was alive and vibrant in color. Having actual heat made him wear less clothing and for once he was finding his antenna useful. Here he understood the need to use them to navigate since certain areas of the forest got darker than any night in Sauti. But being here did not mean that life was paradise. Verosh felt sneered upon by some of the sisters and even a few were bold enough to openly comment upon his strange hybrid appearance. Just thinking about such things, of his mixed blood, made the boy's fingers curls into tight fists. He would prove them wrong! Even if Mio was his father that did not make Ash any less of a warrior. Such burning thoughts and the pride inherited from his mother kept the boy pushing himself. Even before the sun rose high in the skies the boy was actively running around Emeka and following his mother's training route. Strange though how when he was running in the trees and not on open paths in the mountains that it somehow felt as if he had a shadow running next to him. Actually...blinking Verosh frowned as he finally realized that perhaps it was not a shadow, but rather another strange looking hybrid who was racing the same path as him. That or some demon with the way those amber eyes glowed in the shadows of the trees...such a sight was enough to startle him into halting so that he could try to get a better glance at the stranger.

It was a growl from Dinis behind him that drew Zigaran's attention away from his running and back to the beast. His running slowed down and he turned around to take in what Dinis was doing, following his eye line and found himself starring at... well, he didn't know what. It was another like himself, a member of the Alkidike tribe that was both the wrong color and the wrong gender. Who was that? Where did they come from? Were they from Emeka? The last question that came to mind he knew wasn't true. If there was another like himself surely he'd know it? He'd of run into them before. Not to mention that the others around the village would likely have commented on him. They would have likely split their attention between the two of them as well. As such he felt as though he would have known if this one belonged to their village. So he was a stranger then... was he from Andile, perhaps? His dark eyes narrowed a little bit, his antennae twitching rapidly, as he tried to figure out what felt like a riddle that was standing before him. A bit of a growl from Dinis drew him out of his deep thoughts and he lifted a hand, "Hold, Dinis. We don't know if he's an enemy yet." Best that they figured out where his loyalties lie before he thought about chasing him away from Emeka's borders.

" You aren't one of the sisters." Verosh quipped as he studied the stranger, " But you have their blood I see." Even if he was a hybrid as well the man found himself being judgmental as he studied the strange man. He had dreads as well - his mother had told him that only warriors could have such features and that was why Ash was allowed to keep them as well. Ash straightened his shoulders as he stood to his full alk blooded height, " No enemy unless you are threatening the Alkidike in this area." What if he was one of those strange hybrids that had a bad experience in the past with the Alkidikes and wished to harm others? The thought made his blood still as he continued to study the other male.

Zigaran felt his body go a little ridged as the blond commented on him not being one of the sisters. His teeth clenched slightly, he was well aware that he wasn't considered as one of the sisters as he still needed to train hard and prove himself. Still, being told such a thing by someone that was in the same boat that he was in still grated on him just a bit. His antennae gave another twitch as he said with a little snort, "Yes, I carry the blood of the Alkidike in my blood, that of my mother Mahaut. You're pretty sharp." The other was standing tall now, something that made Zigaran wonder if he meant to challenge him. Taking a step closer to him he did the same thing, pushing to his full height, and said, "I am not enemy to the Alkidike in the area, Blondie. I was raised in Emeka. What about you? I can't say I've seen you around this place before." He said, as he starred right at him with his deep orange eyes, not wanting to give an inch at the moment. He'd of known if he was around, someone would have told him, meaning that he'd come from somewhere else. Where though? Andile maybe?

Verosh frowned, a deep line showing in the crease of his brow, " I suppose." Even with the insult the boy would not take it to heart, " Then we are similar in a regard, but you must have something other than wind." It was a strange blue that made up the other hybrid's features and those amber colored eyes truly caught Verosh by surprise. It had been those eyes that had almost caused him to believe that he had encountered some beast or demon in the darkness. He had never truly seen another hybrid like himself before so seeing that color could be transferred into Alkidike eyes was startling. It almost made him feel slightly jealous. If not for the blue of his skin and the orange of his eyes then the boy before him could be almost a pure whereas Verosh had too many of the earthling traits tainting his own appearance. It was frustrating indeed. " I was raised in my father's lands, the wilderness of Sauti, as my warrior mother saw fit to train me alone." He replied as he refused to back down as the other boy moved forward, " I am new to Emeka, Blue One." He retorted back, " But not new to the ways of the Alkidike, it is why I came here since my mother believes me strong enough to become a warrior like the others now."

Zigaran's antennae gave a bit of a twitch before he nodded, "I... am something other then Wind, yes. My mother Zamira is of the Water Tribe." It wasn't that he didn't love his mother but being only half Alkidike sure did add a lot more pressure to his life. He had to make sure that he did everything just so so that he would be seen as worthy of becoming a Blade one day in the future. Once his mother Mahaut thought that he was ready for such a step at least. He hoped it was sooner then later so that he could start building renown among his sisters. Interesting, so he was raised in his father's homeland, was he? Were it not for the fact that he commented on his 'warrior mother' training him he might have worried about his intention. At least this one had the same backing that Zigaran did only he hadn't trained in the Alkidike lands. Shifting slightly in place, arms crossing over his chest, he said, "My name is not 'Blue One', Blondie, it's Zigaran." He supposed that if he wanted his proper name to be used that he'd have to be the polite one and see about introducing himself. He didn't want to seem rude since that might translate in the mind of his Alkidike mother as being weak. "So you came to Emeka to train? That's commendable." Better that he trained around their sisters in hopes of gaining strength from them. They could be a bit on the grating side though since they judged one's appearance over their skill at times. That only made him want to train that much harder though. He had to prove himself his mother told him, not as being as good as his sisters but better then them when it came to his skill in battle.

" Would explain the blue." Noted Verosh as Zigaran told him of his heritage, " Not like wind at all at least in....some regards." He noted vaguely though his mind was already flickering to the race of people that his mother had once sneered at. Captives for years to their neighbors, could none of them hold their own as a warrior during all that time? His antenna flicked in disappointment at the memory. Even if Verosh was also a hybrid at least he didn't have to worry about his earthling heritage being so....lacking? The wind people were strong for nomads that had to survive up in the cliffs, his gaze flickered thoughtfully before he focused back on Zigaran. Verosh barely raised a brow at the other boy's attempt at a jab, " Does it matter when both can gain your attention?" He replied with the faintest of smirks, " Achashverosh is mine since you seem so interested." At the notice of training the hybrid did nod, a slight acknowledgement. " Not that training has given me much save for what I already know. I came more to finally gain my weapon and join the ranks." Something he couldn't quite do if he continued wasting time speaking to others like this.

"I suppose that it would." He said, finding the response from the other aggravating for some reason. He wasn't sure why, it just... was. He starred for a moment before he gave a little breath through his nose. It was fine, he should probably learn to amiable with those like the blond hybrid before him. He knew what it was like to be both a hybrid and a man in Emeka and it was far from easy. He should at least try to get along with his fellow. A thought that started to fade a little as the other seemed to be trying to poke at him. So his name didn't matter to the blond, huh? So long as what he called him got his attention it was all that was needed? How he'd love to punch him in his smirking face... but again, he felt that he shouldn't. He was supposed to make make nice with others of his tribe after all and he wasn't the worst person that he'd met thus far. The other went about introducing himself and for a moment Zigaran's orange eyes went wide. His name was... what now? That seemed rather complicated, didn't it? After a moment he merely said, "Blondie it is then." It was far easier a name to deal with and nothing said that the blond was going to call him by name anyway. As the other said that the training wasn't really giving him anything he didn't already know he merely starred back at him in a deadpan manner. The guy was either gifted in the ways of battle or he was extremely egotistical. One would make him a great warrior, the other would get him killed... so he'd hope for the sake of the blond that it was the former instead of the latter. "So what weapon are you thinking of wielding?" He asked, finding himself a touch curious.

" Of course." Replied Verosh with a firm nod. Not like the other hybrid would know exactly what he meant, but Verosh was in no mood for explanations. It would also take too long, a waste of time chit-chatting about how inferior the blood of Matori was in comparison to his own. Not that it was a great advantage as he was still a hybrid himself...something that the man wished was not the case, but still. Couldn't help how you were born, right? I suppose I should give him a bit of relief then since he couldn't' choose his earthling half either.A faint frown crossed his brow, " If that's what you prefer." What the warrior name was too long for this blue kid? The apprentice scoffed at the thought, " Verosh is good for hunts and battle since it's quicker to say I suppose." He admitted almost as if growing bored with the discussion. That is until he asked about his weapon choice, " Spear." He replied instantly, " It seems the most reasonable for me." Then after a pause the hybrid let out a soft sigh, " I suppose manners mean I should ask then about your decision. Are you picking up the spear as well or something else? I've also been told that I could choose a mount if I pleased, though I'm not certain on that yet."

"Good for hunts and battle?" He asked in a curious manner, starring at him for a long moment. Did that mean that there was a chance that the two of them would be engaging in that sort of thing? His antennae gave a bit of a twitch and he gave a little humming sound, "That could be interesting. It would be something different to train with someone my own age and... skill level." Possibly? Depending on how good a warrior Verosh's mother was. Was she anything compared to his own mother? Would he be a prentice worth dueling with? Or hunting with? "A spear? Interesting." He murmured, giving a nod as the other mentioned that he had been told that he could choose a mount as well. Something that he'd already done himself, "I've decided to go with a bow myself. As for a mount I've chosen a creature called a chiavi, large birds from the owl family. Her name is Sidrys. Those come from... somewhat up in the same direction you're from so perhaps you've heard of them?" She'd make a grand mount one day given her fierce attitude, provided of course that he was able to actually train her for such a thing. She was a wild spirit so it could be tough.

"Easier to yell." Verosh shot the other hybrid a look, "Though I prefer not having to call out at all since that's distracting to the hunt and gives the prey warning." He shrugged his shoulders, "Still you never know when emergencies happen...or if I'm ever forced together with others my age while training." That was the most leeway he would give the other boy. He definitely wasn't about to invite him on a hunt of his own free will after all - nothing against the other hybrid since Verosh for the most part simply wasn't accustomed to training outside of his family. "Someone that...." Faint understanding flickered across his expression, but the boy's antenna laid back, "Good luck. I'll need a blade to train with myself since most apprentices seem a bit lackluster in demonstrations of skill." His gaze lost even more interest with the introduction of the bow, "Then you attack from afar...I feel as if that losses the thrill of battle." Verosh crinkled his nose, "Not that it's unimportant, just not as thrilling to me. I'd rather feel someone pushing right against me than hoping that I have good aim through the trees." He shrugged, "As it is I'm on a run to try and build up more endurance so...." He trailed off and glanced at Zigaran. What else could be said after all?

"Yeah... yelling isn't something that is high on the list of tips I've gotten when it comes to becoming a master warrior. At the same time I suppose during emergencies it would be better to call out 'Verosh' then 'Blondie' since I don't want just any blond thinking I need help." He could get all manner of people trying to help him out if that were the case and he couldn't say that he'd ever be looking for the help of just anyone who happened to be blond. Giving a little snort Ziga said, "That's because most prentices don't have to try as hard as we do." There were so many people out there that could do whatever they wanted because they were either pure bloods or they were Earthlings who didn't seem as though they were as strict with their training. He wondered if where Verosh was from there were just too many Earthlings and not enough worthy sparring partners. Perhaps their meeting was meant to be? One blessed by Aisha herself? A thought that was for a moment forgotten as the other seemed to think lesser of the weapon he wanted to take up because it didn't mean being up in the face of those he was fighting. "What would those up front do without covering fire, Blondie? It's a good weapon to take up to aid those fighting on front lines... and given I mean to fly in the sky one day with my chiavi I feel a hand to hand weapon would be lost on me." If the two of them could ever see eye to eye they might make a powerful pair... but Zigaran was having trouble with the getting along part. There was that part of him that wanted to offer the other a fight right here and now, maybe a nice fist fight to show the other he wasn't weak just because he wanted to be a bowman.

Verosh just shot Zigaran a 'really' look and decided to keep his mouth shut on the blondie comments. He'd start calling the other one fish-face or something soon enough, but he was trying to behave. Even if he wasn't the friendliest person ever his mother had taught him long ago that name-calling was beneath any warrior. Blunt truth was always best ....so wouldn't fish face work? Verosh closed his eyes in aggravation. He would not fall to temptation just because someone kept calling him 'blondie'. His gaze did widen just slightly at the admission from Zigaran, however. "Yeah." He agreed quietly, "I suppose you have a point there." Why should they try as hard? They were naturally accepted whereas having earthling blood made it more challenging, especially if you inherited the short and the weaker genes. Verosh could only hope that he would continue growing in stature like his mother. It would be a shame to be the size of his father after all. Though Verosh doubted he would be that small considering he could already carry his father around with ease and stood inches taller as it was. Ugh and there was the Blondie comments again. "Look fi-" Nope, nope don't you dare do it. Verosh closed his eyes tightly and pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration, "While I appreciate the help it gives during great battles I doubt it's much to train against. I can't really fight hand to hand with you when I have a spear and you have a bow." His antenna flicked, "Not that we were going to train together anyways." He hastily added since he did not want to give the other boy hope, "But I suppose flying could require a weapon like that more than blades at least." He could still imagine a spear on a mount, however, as he was secretly thinking of doing such a feat himself.

Zigaran tilted his head to one side as the other started to say something but seemed to cut himself off. He starred at him for a long moment before he gave the slightest of smiles. He had no idea what it was that he might have been thinking about saying but he found himself curious about it. Instead of asking though he listened to what the other was saying about him being unable to fight hand to hand with him. Giving a grin he lifted his fists up and said, "Really? You don't think that the two of us could train together, huh? I think you might be underestimating me, Verosh." He said, stressing the man's name as he finally said it instead of the nickname he'd given him. Shifting so that he had his arms crossed over his chest instead he said, "I understand though if you would rather not. No saying that you'd be able to keep up with me since I did grow up in Emeka instead of some distant land." Might as well tease and poke at him a bit, wanting to see if he might be able to get a duel with him before they went their own ways.
