Thias. Kyle needed to find him. He needed to know just who he was really. If he was a horseman by blood or if he too was trapped in the form of a horseman like he was. It was the first thing that came to his mind as soon as Kyle had figured some of the things out for himself in the privacy of his own treehouse on one of the War floors. He didn't know how much time he had left until he reverted so he had quickly made his way over to Thias' room, a hand lifting to rap on the Famine Sage's door as he called out to him.
"Thias? It's... Rook. There's something i need to talk to you about."

His throat was raw, his stomach still trying to heave what it had up in utter disgust at what he had become. Thias, it was a bile name he had been called in this state as he tried to bury his hands into fabric not wanting to even acknowledge the fact that it was nothing more than simple skeleton bones that lacked any sort of skin or muscle. It wasn’t even logical. Matt shuddered as he heard the noise at the door, a hiss easily escaping his lips as quickly jammed himself against the door. “Get the hell away from here, Rook, whoever the hell you are.”

There was a hiss heard from behind the door followed a soft thud from what Kyle assumed was Thias himself leaning against it and then... rejection. Shaking his head a few times to himself, he lifted a clenched fist and pounded a few times on the door as he called out to Thias again. "That dream... did you see it too? Are you also a human? Like me?"
Of course it didn't occur to him that shouting all of that in the middle of a lair that was resided by many other horsemen from the Famine clan wasn't perhaps a very bright thing to do...

Matt’s eyes went wide turning his head to the door before closing them shut shaking his head. It was a trick, the whole damn lot of them were in on it, it was all a trap for a few hunters and he couldn't be sure who he could entirely trust. That meant that no matter what Rook said he couldn’t be trusted, even if he pretended to say something about being human it was likely nothing but an elaborate tale to bring him back into their care. Another lie to have him give his trust over to them. Like hell he was. “Just get the ******** away from me whoever you are. I don’t ******** care.” The words were bitter, like acid as he even dared to give a growl at the end of it before his stomach attempted to dry heave again

Kyle Thias' words. They cut deep into his heart and hurt. A lot. It would be so easy to turn away and go. But Kyle wouldn't have that. Something in him told him that this was important. That he had to know. "But i do." He brought his fist down upon the door again then rested his head against it. "My real name is Kyle. Kyle Cooke and I'm a Sun hunter trainee from Deus."
Matt Matt didn’t say anything, he sat there his head leaning on the door as his fingers, or more like bony tips twitched. Apart of him wanted to open the door, wanted to see Kyle, but he knew he wouldn't. No, what he would see instead was a member of the war clan either waiting to kill him as soon as he opened the door or even worse the fact that it really was Kyle. He would despise him, hate every inch of the man that stood there and even more so would want to kill him. “Just get the hell out of here.” There was less edge in his words this time, but still sharp with anger.
Kyle "I'm not leaving. God dammit Thias! Just open the ******** door already or I'll break it down myself to get to you." There was something different about Thias' tone this time which made his stubborn refusal to let Kyle in all the less convincing. He pounded on the door again a few more times, trying to gauge how sturdy it was just in case he had to really attempt to throw his weight against it to get to Thias next.
Matt It snapped, he broke into pieces of anger as he scrambled to his feet throwing the door open. Before Rook, or Kyle, could even move, Matt with determined swiftness had wrapped the bony digits around his neck pressing them tight. “My name is not Thias, don’t ever call me by that name again or I will take whatever inch of strength in this pathetic body has and kill you.”
Kyle Kyle had meant to greet Thias, or whoever he was supposed to be, on the other side of the door with a smile when he finally relented and let him in. But things obviously took an unexpected turn for him when Thias suddenly threw the door open and lunged forward to grab him by his neck before he could do anything to thwart his intent. Taking a few steps back, he choked and gasped, eyes staring in disbelief at what was happening as the other regarded him with malicious contempt. "Can't... don't know... who... you..."
Matt “My name is Matt.” It was like a hiss as the bright blue eyes glared sharply at him. After watching him for a moment he loosened his grip a little, he wasn’t entirely sure if he killed Rook he would be able to escape the tower unscathed. Even more so he couldn’t be entirely sure if he was Kyle or not, or if this was some elaborate plan to torture him more.
Kyle He coughed and wheezed, all too eager for the opportunity to breathe more freely again as soon as the hand around his throat was loosened. "... I know a Matt..." He started, pausing briefly to cough a few more times as he swallowed his saliva to moisten his throat some and then resume. "Matthias Duffy. A Moon intermediate hunter." He looked beadily at the other horseman now, trying to see if there was any reaction to indicate that they could be one and the same person who was stuck in this accursed form as he was.
Matt The corners of his lips twitched, but only to look more into a scowl as Matt shifted enough to pull the horseman into his room shoving him roughly to the floor. “Don’t you dare move.” He shut the door, keeping the icy blue gaze on him before pulling the makeshift weapon of a long shattered edge of a mirror piece wrapped in purple cloth out. “How do you know my full name and what do you want with me?”
Kyle He knew. Kyle nearly wept for joy upon knowing that. Thank the heavens for small blessings such as this. He wouldn't know what he would do with himself if Thias was someone else, or worse a real horseman, and he walked out of this with the memory of all the things that he did with him. Before he could say anything more however, he found himself literally dragged into Thias' room, the door slammed tightly shut as Matt told him not to move before pulling out a shattered mirror piece. "M-Matt? Oh s**t. It really is you..." He took a deep breath and quickly exhaled, eyeing the mirror shard nervously. "It's me Kyle. We were... pretty close back on Deus, don't you remember that?"
Matt The blue eyes narrowed as shoved Rook down, straddling to keep the pointed end of the glass at his throat. It wouldn’t be much effort, sliding it across but knowing the horsemen abilities to heal he doubt it would kill him. Maybe knock him out long enough for Matt to slip away, but to where? “I know a Kyle.” The words were still bitter, but a little unsure. “We were not just pretty close, and I for ******** sake I would hope he wouldn’t consider that was all we were, but you, you are not him. You are a horseman of war, and this is a bloody annoying trap and I really am really starting to lose my patiences in dealing with the lot of you poking into my memories and using them.”
Kyle He watched as the pointed end of the glass came dangerously close to his throat, a death threat no doubt because Matt still didn't quite trust him yet. Kyle wanted to back away, put some safety distance between himself and this emotionally unstable Matt who could slit his throat any minute if he unintentionally said or did something to antagonise him. But he couldn't. Not while Matt had him pinned down like this. "I'm Kyle." He shook his head slightly. "Believe what you will because of this form that I've taken but know that I love you and I'll do anything for you. I wish I know how to get us both out of this bullshit but I don't. And I don't know what I should do now to get you to believe that I am me..." It saddened him deeply that he couldn't get through to him no matter what that his eyes began to glisten with tears.
Matt Matt’s expression was a twisted look of uncertainty, relief, and anger. He pressed the edge a little closer to the horseman’s throat watching him before pulling it away. There were tears in the Rook’s eyes and it made him give a little growl in the annoyance, it was familiar but it wasn’t enough proof for Matt to believe it really was Kyle. It was only enough for him to not rip him completely to shreds at that very moment. “I don’t trust you, nor do I believe you. I don’t trust anything a horseman says.”
Kyle There was a small squeak when the glass shard was pressed against his throat, his eyes squeezed tightly shut as he shuddered and hyperventilated while waiting for Matt to decide if he believed him or would rather take his life instead. When that didn't come to pass and Matt instead pulled back a little to give him more room to breathe albeit momentarily for now, he opened his eyes to look at him. So he wouldn't believe anything that a horseman says huh... "... what must I do then to get you to believe me? ... ask me something... something that only Kyle will know..."
Matt “It doesn’t matter, you could have all of the memories of Kyle and I implanted, you can sit there and lie to me give me every answer perfectly. I still would not trust you.” Not with that look, not with those wings, the face, all of it did not belong to Kyle. It didn’t matter if in some way it resembled him, had vaguely the same mannerisms he wouldn’t trust any of it. Matt could barely trust himself, he had seen what he looked in the mirror it wasn’t him, it wasn’t his body and the distinct lack of Kasi made it even worse for once.
Kyle So near yet so far. Kyle didn't know what was worse at this point. That Matt couldn't and refused to see past his current physical appearance to acknowledge that he was Kyle ? Or him knowing that Thias was a complete stranger whom he had been intimate with as Rook? Silence hung between them for awhile as he frowned and tentatively snuck a hand across to clamp on his forearm. "I'm sorry..."
