Breaking the shield brings out moon hunters to defend.


The cold wind bit at Merope as he left the safety of the Dusk and set foot onto the cold antarctic landscape. He narrowed his eyes as he adjusted the thick scarf around his neck. He was skeptical of accepting a Death clansman's insistence on warm clothes. Now Merope offered a quiet thank you as the cold began to set in.

Merope summoned his bow, adjusting his grip until he felt comfortable wielding it through the thick unfamiliar gloves. He was ready.

Quietly he moved through the snow, marching silently forward until he found the base he was after.

Merope notched an arrow to his bow and fired.

Merope felt a touch of embarassed pride as his arrow managed to hit the shield. Even if it didn't seem to do that much, it was progress. Merope fired another arrow.

From his vantage point, Merope could see the sparks the rippled across the barrier protecting the hunter base. "Yessss! That's it!" He cheered himself on, readying another arrow.

Another solid hit! Okay, maybe it wasn't as nice as his previous hit but he was onto something! Merope permitted himself a smile as he drew his bow back and fired away.

Merope jumped, startled as the shield dissipated with an audiple cacophony that reminded him of shattering glass. It wouldn't be long until --

Merope cursed as a bullet bit into him. Of course the hunter would fight back. He probably left the base as soon as Merope started firing and took up a similar vantage point.

The Conquest soldier focused, ignoring the bullet that flew past him. He had an idea... now it just had to work.

He could feel the Fear around him, fortifying him. Another bullet came, barely felt through the Barrier's effects.

Merope drew an arrow and notched it, focusing his Fear and hopes on the arrow.

He stepped out of cover to fire at the hunter, praying it would hit.

The arrow took on a bright blue sheen that rippled with movement as it cut through the air. Merope shouted as the attack cut through his barrier and into him. But at least, at least he managed to hit his opponent.

Merope called on his Fear for a quick heal as he dodged back into cover, wincing as his opponent's bullets managed to find him regardless.
