Hit: (4 + 4) = 8/2 = 4 x 1.5 = 6 damage + 1 damage every turn
Once she saw her sparring partner was ready, Serana started off with her strongest move. She dashed in and made a thrusting motion with her lance. She wasn't sure what it was, but the more combat she was in, the more she started to enjoy the thrill of battle, when it was for fun of course. In a life or death situation, she was still uneasy knowing she may have to kill or be killed. Luckily, this wasn't one of those times.

4 + 4 = miss! So no damage!" Goin' in strong, eh?" Zyphire smirked as the girl swung her lance towards him and rather than dodging the male braced himself. In a normal fight he may have darted to the side, but this time he was acting more like a dare-devil since it was only a sparring match. So he took the brunt of the blow from the lance before gathering up the power to charge at her with his own attack. It was only fair after all right? As he moved forward a trail of crimson decorated the snows behind him. And perhaps he had overestimated his own endurance or underestimated how strongly she would swing because the sudden pain from the attack caused the boy's blow to only graze the air rather than Serana's arm. Damn. Next time...

Serana followed up with a strike from the butt of her spear right in his solar plexus. At this close range she felt she was sure to hit! She put all of her might into the blow and let out a "Hyah!" to help with the force.

Stubborn as usual Zyphire took the blow from Serana with a wince. Damn she's better than I expected. Still as her guard was lowered the shifter brought up his blades in a downward movement to try and take advantage of his position. At the same time, however, the throbbing pain in his chest made his aim veer slightly to the side...

She had him on the edge now. Serana saw his miss from the downward slash and struck back immediately. She knew her hits were affecting his battle performance, and it wouldn't be long before the fight was over at this rate. She swung at him with the flat of the blade with her lance.

Even though he attempted to dodge Zyphire just found himself falling into the snow. Rolling over onto his back the boy just sighed before glancing over towards Serana with a wide grin, "Alright, alright. Enough beating up on me...let's just enjoy the afternoon and I'll have to fight you again tomorrow." Closing his eyes the boy just shook his head as he tried to catch his breath. If he could even walk tomorrow with all the bruises Serana had given him!
