Today was a rare day for Organa, a special day in her people's culture. The Summer solstice provided the shortest day of the year and in turn was a day of personal reflection for the members of her pride.

She had, as she had every year, been fasting for the past couple of days before this despite the odd looks she received when she turned down any offers to join them for meals. This morning she had informed Peregrine that they wouldn't be having a therapy session before waddling herself out to retreat to a quiet place to meditate.

Boy howdy did she have to admit that there was excessive amount to reflect on this year. Between her sudden loss of her partner, her mission to kill said partner, being injured, and now kids? Where the hell does one start with all of that? All of it demanded a great deal of her attention, and all of it created some sort of stress on her mind - though some more than others.

Letting out a tired sigh Organa rolled her shoulders to work out the kinks building up in them. Perhaps it would be best to split this whole thing up over a few days? Peregrine might be displeased with her, course when was he not displeased with something, but it would be a lot easier of a task to chew through then.

There would be the added bonus of having a clear mind to focus more on her therapy and fishing lessons. Decisions, decisions.

Elsewhere why Organa was keeping herself occupied a certain gray doctor finally had arrived back to the warm shores of the Bahari. Already he was on a dead-shot beeline to the cramped den that the two lions had been previously sharing for the past few months.

It was a common misconception among those around him that he was often disappointed or unhappy with something. One really couldn't blame them either given his overall disposition and dry demeanour. He had a personality that only a mother could love, but on this occasion, he was satisfied with the progress his unexpected patient had been making. She had been getting better and had made consistent improvements - she might have grumped, whined, bitched and otherwise let him know she wasn't happy with the service... But she was getting there.

Thus, when the lioness had elected not to take her therapy sessions this afternoon he wasn't entirely put out. Everyone was entitled to a break and based on her current condition, it wouldn't do her any harm. The lack of food however, especially when pregnant, was probably something that would need to be addressed when she came back. He wasn't aware of her cultural requirements at the moment, and while she might have decided she didn't need food, her children still did.

...She could starve herself after they were born.

Not that he wouldn't accept and respect her religion inclinations, but in his view, there were bigger priorities than reflecting on ones rather exciting year. She could reflect on that in the hours she couldn't sleep because of the squealing offspring!

Nevertheless, with the lioness temporarily elsewhere, Peregrine had taken a very brief opportunity to talk to his mother and receive an update on their other patient. All things considered he was improving as well, but Chessa was determined to bring him completely back... Sometimes, it was nice to see where he'd inherited his stubbornness from. However, he had eventually left with a slight bow of his head to Spectre (one that had been acknowledged surprisingly), and had made his way home.

...Only to find himself face to face with a very wayward doctor.

"You're going to bee-line into an empty home," he spoke up and raised a brow. "She's not in there."

Malphas at this point in time was really not in the mood for any games. Unlike the other doctor who had been saddled with a certain firecracker's care over the past few months his sour mood was a great indicator that he was indeed unhappy and disappointed currently! He had a million and one people to check on it seemed at the moment, each of them scattered to the wind across the four corners of Africa.

The one he was focused on right now did have a much higher priority to her situation. One that he had unexpectedly had been forced to back burner. Even with the two of them butting heads quite often when together Malphas couldn't deny that he was relieved to be checking back up on Gan. He was extremely eager to see her progress (if there had been any at all) as well as get an unbiased full report from Peregrine on what had happened why he was gone.

As it were the latter appeared it would be taking place first.
"We really need to stop meeting like this or people are going to start to talk." Malphas jested as he took a step back from the clouded male, giving them both more personal space to breathe in why they chatted.

Wait...what? She was gone?

Blinking rapidly Malphas craned his head up to look over Peregrine, double checking if this wasn't some silly prank to have him go looking all over hell and gone for her. "Where is she then?" Letting out a low groan his head slumped slightly. "Please tell me she hasn't run off to go get herself in more trouble?" He mumbled, his brows tightly furrowing together.

"People already started talking when a cripple landed herself in my den," Peregrine replied dismissively. Even his mother had never been able to catch him out, it would have been safe to assume the male had been a smart a** since birth. "They have since concluded that she's your lover, deposited on my doorstep, simply because you needed one of the best we have available," he remarked and then raised a brow. "Or perhaps the only one we had available that can spend such an extraordinary amount of time on one individual."

To say that Chessa and he were specialists was an understatement, they truly were some of the rare individuals who could dedicate their entire being to one purpose. Peregrine had never been asked to over extend by Ram, and neither had his mother, this had proven to be very effective in some of their more complex cases...

"I imagine she's somewhere," he finally responded and rolled his shoulders. Evidently he didn't seem to be overly concerned as to her whereabouts, but nor did he seem to think she had left the area. She had simply settled in to life here, in her own way, and was making time for herself. Where she had chosen to make time for herself was anyone's guess, but someone would have seen her in passing.

"She needed time to herself, I didn't request any further details," the lion rolled his shoulders. "That aside she probably needed several moments, she's had a lot on her plate between her injury and finding out she's pregnant."

"Welcome back by the way, I'm assuming your expedition went well."

Well he couldn't honestly say he blamed them for talking, the circumstances behind Organa's sudden arrival probably would have caused even his own eyebrows to raise. Still, the idea that he was her mate did rip a loud snort as his eyes rolled from him.

"The day I ever take her as my lover is the day I give free reign to anyone to push me off the nearest cliff."
Chances are by the end of the day he'd willingly toss himself over the cliff! With a shake of his head he responded only with a wry smile. "Both would be correct in their own right." He replied calmly.

The Bahari's reputation had already be regarded as one of the pillars of expertise when it came to long term rehabilitation. The fact that they had the free time to devoted to their patients playing a huge part in their outstanding success rate.
He could only hope that Organa had put her time with the specialist to good use.

Popping his lips Malphas casually leaned back on his back hunches, peering at Peregrine with a raised eyebrow. "You've made some good progress since I've been gone if she's able to move around on her own." He remarked with a soft sigh, a paw lifting to run quickly through his mane.

"I'll have to go hunt her down and check up on her myself then. Gods only knows how long she'll be if left to her own devices. I don't suppose you'll mind to continue this conversation why we walk?" He inquired, already beginning the motions to headback out to continue forward in the direction he had previously been heading without a response from Peregrine.

As quickly as his paw lifted it was slammed back down into the ground. His eyes widened as he regarded Peregrine with a bewildered stare. "I'm sorry, what was that last part again?" Sucking in a deep breath he shook his head once more in disbelief. "The mountain air must have messed with my head and I must have mistakenly heard you say she was pregnant?"

"Congratulations," Peregrine replied, confirming what Malphas had asked in his own typical manner. He really wasn't sure why all of this was such a surprise, did they happen to come from somewhere that didn't discuss these things in depth until it was pertinent to have offspring? He could only shake his head at this thought, it was wholly irresponsible... But Organa had slowly been working through the shock of what happens when you happen to liaise with a member of the opposite sex so Malphas could as well.

In fact, they could probably talk it out with one another in regards to this little mishap and they'd all be done with it. Easy peasy, or that was Peregrine's take on it, he had no idea who the father was but he had rather assumed it would be someone she knew. Nevertheless, it wasn't his place to pry into the affairs of others and thus, he let the subject lie for the time being. It would be easier to help the paler lion search for his 'beau', after that he could simply give them space for that drama filled 'why did you keep this from me' discussion.

...Now that was something Peregrine would happily avoid.

"She made the progress on her own," he added as he wandered after Malphas, offering a loose shrug in response. "I merely attempted to kill her one or two times. Her tenacity is admirable."

Whenever he tracked him down that is. Malphas for all his big talk about wooing willing women and relaxing in a carnal way was in many ways a traditionalist. Sex was one thing, but having a family? Settle your a** down for a few years, you're now a parent to a bouncing baby bunch.

So much for a easy check up back. Once again Organa couldn't just leave well enough alone and keep her life simple. Oh no! The damnable woman might as well have a giant bulls-eye painted on her arse that said, 'Direct trouble here!'

With a low grumble under his breath Malphas started off, not caring to look back to see if the clouded doctor was following him or not. Though given what (little) he knew about him he suspected that he wouldn't be far off behind.

His suspensions were proven correct when Peregrine once again spoke up.

With a raised eyebrow he craned his head around to give a half-glance back in Peregrine's direction. "Shame you didn't succeed then." He replied with a snort. "Tenacity is one way to put it, though, I wouldn't exactly call it admirable." He remarked, his pace picking up as the familiar gray silhouette came into view. Though it was a bit more round than he previously remembered.

"Organa!"

Fluffy ears perked from the sand as she slowly blinked herself back awake. Tilting her head back she regarded the two with nothing more than a half-lidded lazy glare. Apparently she hadn't quite caught on to Malphas' foul mood with her quite yet, that or she just didn't care, either one was entirely possible.

"Yes that's my name, don't wear it out. It's nice to see you too, Malphas."
She replied with a wry smile. Straightening herself up into a sit she gave a shake of her head to get off the majority of the sand that had clung to her during her nap. "Afternoon to you as well, Cloud-foot." She shouted out over her shoulder at the other male who currently wasn't looming over her.

Stopping himself over her Malphas' shot a pointed glare down at her, or more specifically, down at her extended stomach. "I didn't bring you here to ******** the locals, Gan. I didn't realize that d**k would be a necessary part of your recovery!"
He snarled down at her, not making any moves to hide his anger in his tone.

Well, getting right to addressing the elephant in the room was he? A'ight, she could roll with that. Popping her lips she got to work dusting off her arms, not bothering to look up at him. "I haven't slept with anyone why staying here in the Bahari. This little accident happen far before I even got injured." ...Well at least she believed so anyways. She responded with a loose shrug before continuing, "I just wasn't showing any signs until after you left. Cloud-Foot over here just informed me of my condition just a few weeks ago." With a nod of her head she gestured over to Peregrine.

It did put his worries somewhat to rest to hear she hadn't screwed around with any of the Bahari. They were a more family oriented pride by reputation and he really doubted that Organa's lifestyle would be able to handle being tied down to one place for an extended period. Still, there was the million dollar question left to answer. "Then who is the father?"

Peregrine was capable of enduring a great deal, but the insult to his own pride and its culture was enough for a flash of anger to cross his face. While Malphas may not have been looking at him, it would have been a rare moment in which Organa might have spotted a semblance of emotion. Whether the grey lion realised it or not, he had stepped far over the line and he had ended up in dangerous territory.

One did not insult the culture and the disposition of the pride you were currently a guest in, particularly when you had specifically requested that your friend be tended to by them. Unsurprisingly, Peregrine's jaw had set itself into a stiff line and his expression had become grim. He had been raised with enough manners to hold his piece for now, but if Malphas saw the need to insult the Bahari again then it wouldn't be guards that threw him out... it would be Peregrine.

For the time being, the lion merely flicked his gaze towards the lioness as he watched her converse with her long-lost companion. To her credit, something he would openly acknowledge at this point, she was being remarkably composed. More interestingly, her dry sarcasm seemed to be all the more fitting in this situation.

...At least it was fitting to the clouded lion, given that those without decorum really didn't deserve to have it returned!

"No idea." Organa admitted unabashedly with a casual shrug. "I haven't the faintest of remembrance for the night that this," She flicked a paw down to gesture to her overly-extended belly. "Was created. But as a doctor you should have a basic understanding of biology and gestation, no?" She asked with a raised eyebrow. Before giving him the chance to answer she continued, "How far along my pregnancy doesn't line up with the time I arrived in the Bahari - unless I somehow learned how to teleport or fly, which to my credit would make for a exciting conception story to boot."

Alas, it seemed no one could appreciate her weak attempts at humor at this time. Sigh.

Taking in a deep breath she gave a shake of her head, finally lumbering her way up onto all fours. "But I digress, father is a rogue and will not be a part of these children's lives. End of story. Let's move onto matters that aren't a complete moot point." Organa's eyes trailed off to catch a quick glance at Peregrine. A brief look of shock flashed over her face as she took in the sight of him actually showing some resemblance of emotion other than sheer boredom.

My, and she had thought that his face had gotten stuck in a frown as a child like in the old wives tales. Good to know he hadn't lost the use of his facial muscles!

...But that did bring up the bigger issue, if even Peregrine had gotten angry at Malphas than he had clearly crossed some sort of taboo or line with his rant. She couldn't say she was the greatest fan of the gray medic, but she also did have to admit to being in his debt if anything. Furrowing her brows her focus turned back to the other male standing before her, who had until then still been processing what exactly she had told him moments before.

Well he could have all the time he could want to think about what he said and her situation outside of the Bahari.

"My shoulder is doing better but still needs work, I'll be stationed here for a good time still. There's no reason for you to stick around here soooo..."
With a slow drawl at the end she paused, her lips pursing as she thought about what errand could keep him away for a good period of time.

Ah, ha! Got it! The one person that Malphas' cared more about than himself!

"Please for all god's sake go find and check up on Amadi to make sure he hasn't killed himself." She finished with a quiet sigh. Sweetest man in the world the two's mutual friend was, but he wasn't the sharpest tool in the box either. It wasn't that far of a stretch to request he be checked up on.

"Organa but-" Malphas started before the lift of her paw stopped him.

"Good-bye, Malphas. I will speak to you when you get back." She called out as she undignified waddled her way past him, heading over to greet Peregrine.

"Come on, Cloud Foot, let's go find some food and go home. Perhaps you could show me some of your own tricks at fishing this time?" She suggested with a mild smile. She was hoping that the fishing trip would not only allow her a quiet moment to apologize on Malphas' behalf, but also work off whatever anger Peregrine had after this reunion.

Well, at least going out and punching something was her way of dealing with anger. She wasn't one-hundred percent sure it would work with him, but it was worth the shot none-the-less.

It was an exchange that he had watched with mild interest; a moment in which the lioness had categorically put her companion in his place. He'd seen it happen more than once among other individuals, but it seemed that in the relationship this pair had, who was in charge tended to vary upon the circumstances. Now that Organa had made some remarkable improvements, she was no longer weak limned and vulnerable - all right, well she wouldn't be vulnerable after she had given birth.

Regardless, it seemed she had ended her conversation with the grey lion and based on her orders to the clouded lion, it seemed she was also expecting him to do as he was told. It was a moment in which he settled his gaze on her for several moments before giving a slight nod; far be it for him to deny the lioness her right to eat and it seemed that she had made a decision on exactly what she might have wanted to eat.

...Fish.

Minus the dressing.

Predictable as always but she really didn't seem inclined towards their traditional foods. Perhaps that would change once she had produced her cubs and was no longer heavily influenced by those peculiar maternal instincts.

"Lead the way," Peregrine stated at last and gave a quick nod towards Malphas. "Though I cannot say I have any tricks when it comes to sourcing my food," he finished quietly.

Malphas stood there in shock for a few moments, considering if he should really follow the cut and dry orders Organa had set out before him or if he should follow to further inquire more about her condition, and more importantly, how was she going to handle said children.

Whatever his decision was she certainly was living up to her 'Combat Nun' nickname he had provided her!

Half-turning around Malphas watched the pair as they toddled off together. They seemed...happy, or at the very least content, with their current situation. He had to admit that this was the calmest he had ever seen Organa in the months he had known the fiery midget.

He couldn't - no - he wouldn't bring himself to make an arse out of both himself (as if he hadn't already) but also further anger the pair of gray lions. It was best to leave them alone. Organa seemed to have the situation with the children handled up to this point at the very least, and he still had faith in Peregrine's gifts as a doctor.

Not to mention she wasn't that far off about making sure their goofy friend was still alive!

Organa on the other hand was already brushing off the minor interrogation she had been forced into with ease. Cocking an eyebrow her head titled to the side as she regarded Peregine with a grin. "Ah, I highly doubt that. I think you could perhaps give the fish your own disapproving stare and make them willingly wish to be caught." She teased with a shake of her head.

Pursing her lips she gaze forward, weighing exactly how to approach the situation with more...tact than she certainly was use to.

It was at these moments she seriously wished she had paid more attention to the diplomacy lessons her mentor had given her and Kenobi in their youth!

"All jokes aside, Peregine." She began softly. Her brows furrowing together as she slowed in her stride. "I do apologize on Malphas' behalf. Personally I really don't care of his opinion of my actions - even if I can't remember them myself - but he shouldn't have crossed the line to insulting you and the Bahari." She could have left it there, she could have been done with it and cut her losses quickly. Oh no though! As per normal once she got going a simple apology was quickly starting to morph into a full on babble!

Well, to be fair, no one ever said she was one with the gift of gab.

Shaking her head softly she continued on, "I don't think I have ever expressed properly how...grateful I am to both you and the pride in a whole." With a snort she rolled her eyes, tossing her head back to flick her tuft of baby curls out from her eyes. "Hell I honestly don't think I ever can express it correctly! I was raised and taught to fight, to serve my pride without question, to not allow emotions to get in the way of what had to be done! I wasn't made for...for..." Grunting for a moment she twisted a paw around, stumbling to find the exact words she was looking for to use. "This!" She exclaimed as her foot slammed to the ground.

There was a pregnant pause. Her ears pinned back as she tried to regain her own composer. The wild and wonderful side-affects from pregnancy hormones. One moment she had been calm and quite diplomatic, then next she was showing her most vulnerable side.

How Peregrine reacted would certainly weigh heavily on what way the heavy pendulum of her mood-swings would be falling to next.

She quietly sniffled as she stopped in her tracks. Bringing up paw to her face she gave a hasty swipe to dry the tears whelping up in her eyes. "What everything I'm trying to say boils down to is....thank you."

"Rogues have a propensity for opening their mouths before considering the words that are coming out of their mouths," Peregrine replied with a simple shrug of his shoulders. "It provides them with the unique ability to talk themselves out of messes in their own world, but puts them at quite the disadvantage when they encounter other cultures," he pointed out. While he might have escorted Malphas out of the pride on principle, if only to force the lion to cool off and consider his actions, that would not have meant that he wouldn't be allowed to return at a later date.

...Preferably with some decorum.

"Your companion merely forgot himself, I suspect that had he gone any further he would have realised the error relatively quickly when he found himself on the borders," he added. Truth be told, there was something a tiny bit amusing about the idea of an adult 'time out', but it was often the most useful and effective solution at the pride's disposal. After all, when one did not turn to violence, humiliation in some form tended to work quite effectively (provided it was used at the correct moment).

Nevertheless, as the lioness thanked him, he did glance at her in what seemed to be amusement. Evidently the hormones were getting to the girl, otherwise one might have said that the laid back nature of her current sanctuary was beginning to rub off on her!

"Made for what?" Peregrine asked at last and lifted a brow. "Expressing gratitude? Like your friend you may wish to work on that, it's a useful skill to have," he pointed out and then snorted. It wasn't a dismissal of her apology, but it was clear that it wasn't really necessary either.

"Thanks are not required," he stated.

"This is what we're here for;Now do you want lunch or not?" he finished in a very matter-of-fact tone before he continued on his way again. Organa's hormones might have gotten the better of her, but at the very least she could rely on Peregrine to not make a big deal out of it!

Well she couldn't really disagree with him. Most of the rogues she had met generally had a sharper tongue than what most were use to in the Bahari. It was something that she personally didn't mind - given the fact it reminded her how most talked to each other back home - but she could understand that there was a time and a place.

On another person's lands why you were requesting their help? Noooot quite the time nor place.

She couldn't help herself to snerk at the image of the grown man being tossed out on his arse outside of the pride's lands. He certainly was right about one thing, it would convey the message that he had taken things too far instantly!

Alas, her good mood wasn't meant to be. Such was the way of women in this stage of her condition.

Her nose wrinkled up slightly at the amused glance he shot her way. "Yes." She replied back with a hiss. "Where I'm from we don't express gratitude through words, we express it through actions. Eye for an eye, blood debts, things in that nature." She continued with a dismissive flick of her paw. The fact that she had even put aside her personal pride and beliefs to thank him was, at least to her, some sort of progress in the right direction.

"Required or not they still have been given. Whether or not you wish to accept them is another story." She shot back in an instant.

With one final sniffle she gave a nod of agreement towards him before she too kicked up to toddle along after him. "Gods yes ******** please. If I don't get some food in me soon I might finally make good on my threat to chew off your leg."

It might not have been the prettiest of heart-to-hearts but it had done a reasonable job of creating some sort of ceasefire between the two. What would come of it or if it would continue remained to be seen.
