Quote: [ JOB LISTING ] Errand runner [ DIFFICULTY LEVEL ] gaia_star
[ TASK ] The simplest and also in some ways the most demeaning job in the office sector, errand runners often end up being sent to make drinks, collect food and generally find people who aren't at their desk. When they aren't being sent here and there sometimes they get to do some basic processing of information but this is rare. Mostly they are stuck running all over the office and sometimes down to the warehouses.
It's a living and every job contributes to the Horseman family!
[ MECHANICS ] Roll 1d6 twice, each roll is half the day.
You are sent to make a variety of drinks for half the office. Being horsemen these range from elaborate teas for the conquest traditionalists to strange concoctions for war. It takes absolutely ages. You are sent on a run down to the warehouse to find out an update on one of the ongoing projects. Finding the head engineer is a task in itself and eats up half your time. Things are quiet for a change and you get some time to look over the social networks the company monitors but you don't need to do anything major, it's someone else's problem Everyone wants breakfast/lunch so its time to go out to the nearby shops to get every single horseman's order of food, it takes for ever. The water cooler is broken and you get stuck trying to fix it. Sent over to Tyr's office to tell him a message you get praised for your hard work and he says he's heard about your efforts to the company. Feel free to quote Baneful if you want a proper rped discussion or stop by his office.

Pale Horse had been fun the last time he'd been here: a front position that let him interact with the humans that came in, that made him the face of the company, all wide smiles and vacant expressions of welcome. He'd been assuming that this time around, it'd be something similar. He would have happily dressed up in a giant horse costume and danced around a little, would have made eyes (so to speak) at happy customers and tried to find out what they most wanted in life.
Somehow, instead, he ended up as a gopher. Not that he minded, exactly. It was better than sorting through piles of old junk, certainly. Even better from being separated from the adorable creatures that they'd been experimenting on, and that he'd so desperately wanted to touch.
At least here he was sent on tasks that would be interesting and diverse; could explore various parts of the world, new projects and assignments. Or, at least, that was the concept. Instead, he arrived. He dressed up. He went to report in, eagerly.
He was left to his own devices.
The machines meant very little to Ever. They didn't make sound aside from the whirring and buzzing of machinery. It wasn't like he could read the screens. So instead he stood and stared vacantly into space, getting more and more annoyed, while he waited for someone to pass something off into his hands.
If this was what his entire day was going to be like, Ever was just going to leave.

It was sharper, this time, his eyebrows pulled together. "Come ON. There must be something you need."

It was probably out of annoyance that, finally, someone finally gave him something to do: lunch orders, and apparently they couldn't even get their s**t well enough together to all order from the same place. No. Instead it was two orders from here, one from there, three from the other. It meant that he'd have to run all around for an hour or more, gathering up orders and paying for them with strange, unfamiliar means.
It should have been torture, perhaps. But instead, it lit up Ever's expression. It meant exploring -- not just a little bit but a lot, poking his nose into a bakery and a deli and a bagel place and a Chinese place and smelling all the strange foods that apparently humans loved. It meant being on his feet and running around, instead of sitting at a desk and listening as gears turned (or however that machine worked, he didn't fully understand) and then coming back cheerfully with his arms fully laden with bags of food.
It was all cold, by the time he found his way back. But maybe his good cheer would help them all forgive him for it.
