[ JOB LISTING ] Guard [ DIFFICULTY LEVEL ] gaia_stargaia_stargaia_star [ TASK ] Thing's are getting a bit heated near one of the embassies, and additional guards are needed.
Quote:
One of the side effects of having War clan members visiting often is that sometimes they have an effect on the local populace. Which isn't necessarily terrible, but embassy buildings don't grow on trees. Except for the wooden ones, maybe, but those are extremely flammable. Anyway, calls for extra gaurds at the various embassies aren't uncommon, and this time it's Edict herself who takes notice of you.
"Go help."
Conquest isn't one to mince words, to be honest, but ignoring them isn't wise.
Pick any city in the world to have this take place and roll 3d4 for three prompts. You can have your character try to duck out of guard duty instead by rolling 1d10. 1-9 they get caught and you need to write all 4 prompts instead. Roll a 10 and they successfully don't get caught, after a fun day in the city causing a ruckus, they get back and join in time to receive pay and commendation for a job well done.
Embassy HP: 1000 A crude bomb of some sort is lobbed over the wall. You can choose to try tossing it over, defusing it, or containing the explosion. Roll 1d4 - even is successful, odd is a failure. Failure costs the embassy 250 HP A rioting mob storms the doors, there are literal torches and pitchforks being waved about. It's actually kind of charming, but this is no time for nostalgic remembrance! Fight them off, persuade them, or barricade the building. Roll 1d4 - even is successful, odd is a failure. Failure costs the embassy 250 HP (but no need to continue rolling for this prompt!) Hunters have infiltrated the battle zone, discreetly joining the human attacks. Pick them out and pick them off as best you can. Roll 6d100 to determine how much damage the hunters (and possibly you yourself) cause before you get rid of them A War Heir has gone happily berserk at the fighting and transformed into a fifty foot monster horse. Roll 1d100 to soothe them. If you roll any number containing 1 or 9, you succeed. If you don't, then that number is the damage taken by the embassy. Continue rolling until they are successfully soothed.
Should the embassy fall, Edict shows a quiet display of disappointment in you and has you removed from her sight for the rest of the day.

Rayu usually just enjoyed watching the world burn. This time it was a little more literal, in the burn county of California. There was some big fires happening and it seemed like the embassy was being blamed.
Rayu hadn't set fire on nothing. That was natural for this area. But the residence didn't necessarily see that. And the fact that he enjoyed watching them struggle was just war.
"What are the humans so upset for now?" he whined after he was told to go help.
"This is standard, yeah? By now... I hate to say it, but I'm used to it." She shrugged, bracing herself and gritting her teeth as she watched a mass amount of Hunters try to storm the gates.
"Welp, here they come -- brace yourself, friend." She stretched for a few seconds as she walked over to the door, opened it, and punched a charging Hunter in the face.
They never saw it coming.

Has green hair that usually blocks her vision, and has recently found a love for hair ties and barrettes. Has an unusual fascination with collecting various sizes and styles of clothing.
Rayu chucked. "Of course you are used to it. I just don't like being told when to fight. I prefer picking them myself."
Oh look their was a riot. How cute. why did they have torches? weren't they worried about the fire spreading?

Rayu- journal Clan: War - Warrior Arcana: The Magician (Group A) Description: Rayu is about 6'1" with black hair and wings with a green tint. He looks like a he that just waltzed out of the jungle and is wearing war paint and no shirt when not in human mode. (which is whenever possible) His alt form is a big black Panther and his humanoid mode sometimes matches.
Tessa snorted. "Well, being told to or not, wouldn't it still be a bit of fun for you War Horsemen? I thought you enjoyed a fight, no matter how it was handled."
Leaning back, she dodged a Hunter's weapon narrowly before she reached out and twisted their wrist, satisfied with the scream they let out.
"Music to my ears," She cooed.

"I want to fight with them, not stop the fighting." duh.
"Alright guys, time to go home. Burning our building might burn the buildings next door and then you'll have even more fire to worry about." which would have been cool to watch but was also sadly logical. the leaders were persuaded away for now at least.
"... the whole point is to stop the fighting so that the Embassy doesn't retain damage," Tessa snarled, taking out her slight aggravation on another nearby hunter, then running forward to grab one of the thrown bombs.
She stared at it for a moment until she lobbed it over the side, watching it blow up and drenching what was left of the hunters in a wave of water.
Why were War Horsemen so frustrating!?

"What do you think I'm doing?" Look he had persuaded away a mob. She was doing pretty good though, she had fought some people and then got ride of a bomb. Yeah they would be fine.
Then he spotted some hunters. "Time for the hunter to be hunted." he grinned. there would be no prizes today but he always enjoyed hitting hunters.
And the moment they saw him they ran off. He was a bit too scary for them. Rayu puffed up in pride. He got this.
Running forward, Tessa shoved Rayu to the side just as a bomb fell to the area where he'd been standing, protecting him from the blast.
She didn't have enough time to kick or throw it away, but she did use herself as a shield as the bomb went off, jerking as she was sprayed with smoke and splinters of debris.
Tessa coughed, doubling over as she bled onto the ground.

Rayu was suddenly shoved and he turned in time to see the little famine get hurt. didn't she know that that was what War was for? They were the ones supposed to get hurt.
another bomb was lobbed over and he kicked it, trying to get it over the wall, but it blew a chunk out instead. He raced over to her and looked her over and pulled out a piece of shrapnel. "Are you stupid? Next time you duck behind me." he said annoyed. He picked her up, without asking and took her someplace safer to get wrapped up.
Tessa growled, but didn't do much else as she was carried to safety, giving him a glare.
"Someone had to watch your back." She gave the other a rueful grin. "... ya owe me, now."
Oh. Apparently there was an ulterior motive...

"Ok I owe you. I'll make a note to save your live at a good time for you." He was frowning and still unhappy but he was willing to agree. War was like that though. He didn't mind danger.
Smiling, she patted his cheek gently. "Okee dokie then," Tessa stated softly, before snuggling into him and falling asleep.
The blast had taken a lot out of her.
It would probably be best to leave her somewhere safe to sleep it off.
