Tanita stared at her wall, with the writing all over it. The writing in black ink. It was her handwriting, she recognized that much, but why in the name of the Dusk had she written all that strange nonsense, and why didn't she remember writing it? This was distressing. Another piece of memory gone? This was not acceptable. She frowned a great deal, then took out her phone, and took pictures of everything that was written there, including the drawing of the dragon. She... liked the drawing, and found a strange connection to it. But she didn't know why, and she DID know she wanted this off her wall.
However, she had no freaking clue how to remove ink from white walls. Why had... she... or whoever it was who did this.. DONE that? She was going to have a horrible time getting this inky mess clean so that her pristine white wall was... well, pristine again. She certainly didn't want to have to repaint. This was awful. She glowered at her wall, then made a HARUMPH sound, and stalked to her door. She was going to go out, and see if any of the shops had any cleaning supplies that would work on ink.
In the process, maybe she'd find some one who knew something about how to clean ink off things, or even, if she was super lucky, some one who'd help her.
... Actually maybe not, she'd have to let them see this strange message she'd written to herself and what if they decided she'd gone mad? And reported her to the Heir? No, that wouldn't do. Not unless it was some one she completely trusted.

There had been a few notes tucked in random places around his canopy room, like last minute thoughts before bed that needed not be forgotten because of sleep. They had been cryptic and strange but thankfully not plastered in an obnoxious fashion all over his wall (He barely had them anyways).
Meelo was casually leaning against a wall near a few of the stores, obviously loitering as the red crystal continued to loom overhead, staring at a particular piece of parchment that puzzled him. It was short but a clear message and he knew he had written it by the chicken scratches.
NOEMI! Stop flirting with everything that walks, brah
It really made no sense. Was this intended for him or was he meant to pass this onto someone named Noemi. Did he know a Noemi? That seemed to be a very human name.
lady Aria Starstone
name: Meelo journal:A link! clan: War (Soldier) arcana: Hermit description: Tall, tanned, lean, toned and tattooed. His brown hair is pulled into a man bun with part of the sides shaved. Eyes are green, clothes are barely there, a smile always present and wings are large, tan with red markings.
Tanita made it down, out of the tower and into the area with all of the shops. She paused, and looked around, a very confused look on her face. She honestly had no idea what shop was best to go to for supplies of this specialized a nature. Sure, she knew where to buy basic soaps and scrub brushes and the like, things to keep her rooms clean and herself too, but... Something to totally get ink of a wall? Well. She wandered down the street, looking at sign after sign, trying to find a hint that the shop in question might be the one she needed.
She was so distracted by this that she didn't notice the other horseman and quite literally tripped over him, coming to a very sudden stop, and landing in a far less then elegant sprawl on the ground. She looked up, horrified and embarrassed by her failures of both observation and simple politeness that led her to this ridiculous pass. "Ah! Oh! I'm so so..." She cut herself off with an "AH!" as she tried to get up and discovered she'd scrapped her knees up quite badly and it hurt. "Ah I'm such an idiot..." She moaned out, and grabbed the wall to lever herself the rest of the way up, trying to keep her kimono closed enough that her privacy would be preserved. "I am an idiot, a klutz, and rude. I am, as I was saying, sorry to have run into you..." She winced as she looked around, pondering if there was a bench she could sit on.

He had been so far unfocused and it had happened just so suddenly that even reflexes being as on par as they were were unable to stop the elegant looking female from sprawling on the ground. "Aa!" Almost in the exact same moment as her as he crumpled the note into a neat ball in his fist and went to assist.
"No need to be sorry, nani wahine, I should have like have been standing there like a log, ya." Gingerly he placed a hand on her shoulder, hopefully not being too forward or bold with touching her. Usually he wouldn't care but this apparently - from her attire - was a Conquest mare and well, sometimes they got touchy. Especially with his not so clean hands. "Would you like some help getting up?" Ever the opportunist to help a pretty face. (Note be damned).
Tanita blinked at the touch to her shoulder, not expecting, and also in confusion at the words 'nani wahine.' She didn't understand them at all. What language were they? She then gave her head a half shake to bring her brain back on focus, and smiled a little. "Perhaps it's a bit of both our faults, then..." She blinked at his offer of help, and gave him a grateful look. "That would be very much appreciated, sir." She seemed to be unaware that he might be flirting, but she wasn't really used to being flirted with, so it just wasn't something that would occur to her, and since she didn't know what Nani Wahine had meant, she had no idea he'd called her beautiful.
She sighed a little, eyeing a 6 inch tear in her kimono's lower hem, not happy with this. "What a messed up day, I can't believe this is the follow up to the weird a** s**t on my wall..." She shook her head, making sure her horns DIDN'T hit the man next to her. They weren't tiny, and she didn't want him cut up by them. She looked up at him, and noticed he was tall. She wondered how tall he'd be in comparison to her once she stood up... It was not uncommon for her to be far taller then the guys she met. She then found herself wondering why on earth she even thought of that? She didn't normally care about that, other then 'Why am I so overly tall?' thoughts.

There had been a couple decades there that he had found himself observing an interesting collection of humans on a series of remote islands (mildly impressed to, how had they found them to begin with? Such tiny islands in the middle of the vast seas). It had been long since he had vacated the area but there were still times when their words would pop out of his mouth, even he didn't understand why. Just did, and ended up confusing those around him. Like the pretty thing half in his arms. "Well, of course."
She would barely get to her feet before Meelo hooked his other arm under her knees and began to carry her bridal style to a nearby bench (or keep him in his arms, he hadn't decided just yet). Denying him really the chance just to see who won in this height comparison he was unaware that was going on. "Now who would want to desecrate a beautiful thing like yourself's wall?" Not to spoil the mood, he dared not ask if someone had actually put literal s**t on her walls or just she was not fond of what she had found, "a jealous lover or perhaps someone declaring how lovely you are but in a terrible manner?"
Tanita had no chance to respond to his 'Well of course' because she was too busy being picked up, much to her utter shock. She hadn't been picked up by ANYONE since she was quite small... Basically since her parents informed her she was too big to be carried everywhere, and must walk like the strong Horsewoman she should be trying to grow up to be. She had no idea what to do. No one had even attempted to do this to her, that she could recall, before. She quite seriously froze for a moment, physically, while her internal monologue basically was screaming 'OMG WHAT DO. WHAT DO DO. WHAT DO I DO.' because she had no internal response for a situation like this.
Finally, after a few moments of being stunned, his comment about her being a beautiful thing seeped through, and her eyes went wide, followed by a very deep blush. He thought she was beautiful? No one had called her that before. Well, her parents. And grandparents. But that doesn't count. And then the second half of his question processed after the blushing had fully commenced. A lover? A declaration...? What was all of this? Not that she didn't know these things, but her orangey gold eyes gazed at the man who held her in utter confusion. "Ah... no? I have no lovers, ex or otherwise... And no one who would feel the need to make such a declaration, to my knowledge at least..." Her tone practically sang out her confusion, and uncertainty. "It was... a strange message about not being myself. Or able to trust anyone, which is silly. And a sketch of a dragon with a bit about it being really me." She shook her head, baffled. "It makes no sense. And it looks like my own handwriting, which makes even less sense." She paused, realizing she had meant to keep that last part to herself, because she didn't want to sound insane. Too late now...

Despite her size and the many layers of clothing that the Conquest mare possessed on her person, Meelo didn't find her too difficult to manage in his arms. Probably couldn't run a marathon or last the whole day, but that would be with just about any other horseman as it was. Gently he deposited her on a bench that had not been too far from them, taking from her earlier suggestions on how to aid in her distress. Best to make the pretty thing more comfortable, she had seemed all a fluster at getting picked up.
"That is a shame for someone as pretty as yourself, ya," he took the seat right next to her, awkwardly folding in his wings and slung an arm behind the back of the bench to full face her. With adoring eyes and a smile. "Would think you were one who had trouble fending them all off."
As she explained the actual assault on her walls, he thought to the wad of parchment still clutched in his hand. He held it up, rolling it around between two fingers and hummed thoughtfully. "Strange messages, ya? I found a load of notes around that were a little annoying myself."
She relaxed a little once he sat her down, feeling more comfortable with the situation, if still off balance by the fact that he seemed to be... was he flirting? Was he, really? She was so unsure, she never did get it. But he kept calling her pretty, and the like. She wasn't used to it, not in the least. She found herself shyly reaching up to tuck a stray lock of hair behind her ear before she responded, looking at him shyly out of the corners of her eyes.
"I... not that I'm aware of. I've certainly plenty of friends, but... no one has suggested an interest in anything else?" She bit her lip, feeling odd about this conversation. Was this how these things normally went, or did she sound like an utter idiot? She had no way of knowing, so she would have to hope she sounded ok. "I would think you find yourself quite popular, though? I mean, you're tall and strong, and quite handsome." Oh gracious, she'd said it, and now she blushed even redder, having no idea what to do.
When he showed her the crumpled ball, however, she got distracted enough from her embarrassment at what she'd said to focus again. "I'm not the only one getting weird messages?" She looked right into his eyes this time, no sign of blushing or shyness, because this was super important. Everything that had been going on, the memory loss, the crystal color change, the broken crystal... The Giant monsterTHING, and now weird messages on her wall in her own handwriting, were terrifying the s**t out of her, metaphorically speaking. "It's not just me? Oh thank the first Clansmen...."

Meelo couldn't help the pointed look on her face, nor the soft chuckle as he leaned in closer to her with his hand dangerously close to brushing against the fabric of her kimono, "friends I can believe, ya. But no one showing interest beyond? They clearly seem to be missing out, nani wahine." And he honestly found himself saying that not to see how far he could go with her but in all honesty; the color of her skin was a wondrous shade and the way she reacted to him was ever so amusing. Not to mention she was tall and wonderfully built.
"I like to think I manage with everyone, hard to tell sometimes." The soldier shrugged nonchalantly. It was difficult with how much he often found himself alone despite how much he enjoyed social interactions such as this one. Too much into his work, he supposed. But what work it was.
He found himself uncrumpling the wad in his hand as the subject shifted back to messages from beyond them. The words were now smeared and a little torn but still present and still in his mind; and not any less confusing to him. "Oh, nah.. its not just you. Your pretty little head isn't going crazy though, I'm not sure how far this goes." Didn't think much of it, and right now he was now aware that someone else had gotten such clues to something.
"I'm personally trying not to think about it, ya. Notes don't make sense why why try to make sense of them, you know?" To that effect, he squeezed the paper back into its ball shape. Yet it didn't leave his hand.
Tani blushed, very red, and bit her lip, watching him lean in. She didn't move back, but she felt nervous, nonetheless. Still, it felt really... really nice, to be honest, to have some one, especially a handsome some one, calling her pretty. She opened her mouth to respond, then realized... They'd never even given each other their names. "I... You keep calling me Nani Wahine... I don't know what that means, but it occurs to me I have not introduced myself. My name is Tanita, and I am, quite honestly, glad to meet you, despite the initial moment." She gave him a curious look, silently inviting him to introduce himself.
She smiled a little at his comment, and tilted her head. "I hope so... You seem to be a good fellow, and kind." She smiled more, a warm smile, as she decided to, for the moment, trust this fellow. Perhaps it would just be a new friend but... She liked how he made her feel lovely.
The pleased relief she was feeling was written across her face at the idea that she was not in any way the only one getting weird messages. "I should check with some of my friends later, to see if any of them got such messages. I hope Liya didn't, she doesn't deserve to deal with such stress." It was clear she considered Liya a very good friend, some one she trusted implicitly. At his comment about them not making sense, she blinked, then smiled. "On that level, I suppose you're right? I just want to know who's doing it, and if they're somehow connected to... well that." As she said 'that', she pointed at the cracked and dulled crystal. "It's been so strange lately."

Of course he would chuckle by her admission to being confused by his choice of words, it seemed only fair. "Aa, it means pretty lady, ya. Was on a small collection of human islands for a while and their lingo still seeps in from time to time." Not to mention just the ease they they lived their day to day, was enough to even calm his warrior heart for a time; though, did those little humans know how to fight too.
"Meelo," he then offered with a slight bow of his head, "nice to finally put a name to that lovely face." And the rest of her.
At the mention of the name of one of his fellows, Meelo's eyebrows perked up ever so slightly, "aa, you know Liya? A feisty one that, ya." His grin now cheeky as he sighed. He had to agree, if anything like this happened with the other War bird then no one on any level would hear the end of it. But there was not much of a moment to dwell on it as he followed to where she pointed to. The crystal that hung above them, broken and cracked now in so many places. He recalled the memory that had surfaced when he had gotten closer. Then shook his head.
"Also try not to think about it," he shrugged (and kind of hoped he wasn't offending her with how nonchalant he was about everything), "should right itself, right? We've lived long enough to see some catastrophes on our end to manage to come out strong on the otherside, ya."
"Oh... I see." She looked interested, but blushed again. He'd been calling her pretty lady from the start? That was flattering and also embarrassing. She tilted her head, though, thinking about humans on islands. "I wonder how being on islands effects humans. They don't have portals, do they? So they'd be... very isolated?" She sounded curious, in the 'trying to distract self from bad things' way. She probably would normally be curious but life was weird right now.
"Meelo. I like that name." She smiled warmly at him, and then glanced back at her knees, still feeling oddly shy.
His comment on Liya made her tilt her head back and laugh, however, a happy look on her face. "Oh Feisty is a good word for Liya. She's a dear friend, has been ever since we were paired on a mission that, thanks to a third mission member, went downhill, fast." She sighed, and shook her head, still smiling. "I don't think, once you're friends with her, that will ever change. She's a good soul."
His shrug made her sigh, an envious sound, and his words made her tilt her head back downwards. Not in reaction to him, but herself. "I suppose that is true but... I can't help worrying. Things are happening at a strange and fast pace." She looked back up at him, a wistful expression on her face. "I wish I could be like you, able to calmly accept this, and deal with it as it comes. Your calmness is... enviable, and soothing, at the same time."

"They seemed pretty mellow, surprisingly, ya," he reminisced with a lopsided sort of grin as he found himself repeating some earlier thoughts left unsaid. "Though they did war like the best of them too, had to give them that. Two sides of a perfect coin, ya." Of course he could appreciate that. "Found clever ways ot getting around, think you've seen their planes and boats." Crude things, they were and so inefficient to wings and portals. But the other humans had kept that technology for themselves, greedy bastards.
But, that was not the topic. It was of better things, sort of. Friends at least to be talked of and he couldn't help but laugh at the recount of the mission the two females had been on. "Definitely she's one to keep around, ya." Would probably have some strong opinions on what was going on right now, probably more vocal than he was being.
"I'll take that as a compliment, nani wahine. And hopefully you find some peace with all this as well." He couldn't help looking over his shoulder to where the crystal still continued to glow, off color and odd as it was. "We can always go take your mind off it, ya? Go have some fun?" His ideal suggestion really, or perhaps fix an immediate problem of hers, "or go fix those walls of yours."
Tanita leaned back against the bench, listening with fascinated eyes as he spoke. "Hmmm, sounds right up the alley of a Horseman like yourself, eh? Relaxation, but the ability to fight and have a war, exactly what you might want." She nodded a little, having seen these strange and clunky devices. "Yes, I have. I can't imagine not having access to portals. Such convenience they're missing out on." She paused, then laughed a little. "All the more proof we're meant to be on top, though, yes?"
She chose not to think about the other side of humanity, the ones that tried to Hunt them and even sometimes succeeded. That was not a topic of pleasure, or enjoyment, and she was enjoying the company of Meelo far too much to let thoughts like that spoil her time with him. She doubted he'd be interested in spending huge amounts of time in her company, sweet though he was. He surely had plenty of the ladies, and possibly even lads, who wanted to get his attention. She made up her mind to enjoy what he gave her, and be happy with that.
"It is a compliment, my handsome friend." She gave him a warm smile, with those words, sweet and innocent but still full of warmth. "You've helped me find some, at least, by helping me enjoy myself." Her eyes widened a little at the first half of his suggestion, because it was ever so tempting, but chose to be responsible... At first. "How about a compromise? We try to get that mess off my walls... and once we're done, I'll take you to dinner?" She paused, then blushed, and added "Of course, you probably already have dinner plans, but if so, when you have some free time?"
