[ JOB LISTING ] Inventory Manager [ DIFFICULTY LEVEL ] gaia_stargaia_stargaia_star [ TASK ] Monitor and list all incoming and outgoing inventory.
"Okay, look," Adelaide seems very irritated. "We just had two trucks come in and drop off their goods. Those nincompoops," she points at two part-timers, "unloaded everything without marking things down." Eight large boxes are sitting on the dock.
She hands you a clip-board. "I need you to check each box's invoice and decide where it goes. If the invoice says 'Cavalry' you just put an X here," she points to the bottom left corner of the paper, "and have those boobs stack it over there. Don't actually count Cavalry boxes in the total number of boxes on the form. If it says anything else on the box, I need you to open it and make sure the invoice matches. Fill out your report when you're done."
Roll 8 d4: These are the boxes, and there are 8 of them. For each box follow the instructions below and RP accordingly. --If you roll doubles, it means you have two of that particular box and need to follow it's instructions twice. Same with triples, etc.
This box says it holds one complete silver dinner set. Roll 1 d10 to see what's missing.
-----If you roll a: -------1. Everything is there. -------2. It is missing the gravy boat. -------3. Two spoons are no where to be found. -------4. One serving platter is listed, but not in the box. -------5. Three forks have magically disappeared. -------6. One spoon and on butter knife are missing. -------7. Everything is there. -------8. Two plates are missing. -------9. There are NO forks in this set. WHAT?! -------10. Everything is there, but the large serving platter has a huge gouge on it. Best make a note.
This box is supposed to hold on large grandfather clock. Best check for damages. Roll 1 d6. If even it's in perfect condition. If odd the glass on the front is broken. You had better make a note.
Three large tapestries from the year 1400. Roll 1 d4. If you roll a 1 or 2, one tapestry is missing. If you roll a 3, they all have water damage. If you roll a 4, everything looks good!
This box is labeled "Cavalry". No need to check the contents, simply RP ordering the part-timers to stack it in the corner.
When you are done checking all 8 boxes, fill out the form below and post it in your last post.

Rayu loved the kittens. They were super cute. He was just visiting. Just visiting. and yet somehow he was once again asked to go take inventory? How many clocks did they need really?
At any rate, he was sent to the back, but he was not alone. No he had taken the cinnamon kitten and stuffed it into his shirt. So as he counted boxes, there was an occasional mew coming from his shirt and he pause occasionally to pat it.
Tanita was back for another day of Inventory Management. She'd done well last time, and felt it was worth another go! She had enjoyed it, even, too. Scaring the grunts had been unexpectedly fun, and sorting through an interesting inventory of items she might actually wish to own someday was also fun! She looked up as she was examining her boxes, realizing she'd heard a 'Mew'. Why did she hear the sounds of a kitty? She looked around, and spotted another Horseman, and realized he seemed to have something in his shirt. When she heard another 'mew', she had to ask. "Do... you have a cat in your shirt, sir?"
She paused, noticing she had two boxes marked with Cavalry. She grinned, and gestured at the Heavies to carry them over to the side designated for them, before looking back at the other person with interest. "I'm Tanita, by the way." She picked up her clipboard, and marked the appropriate Xs on the form, then began studying what else she had, to decide what order to handle them in. She also kept half an eye on her companion. It seemed she had one Silverware set, 2 Grandfather clocks (again), and... Goodness gracious, 3 boxes of tapestries. She pondered and had the heavies place the Silverware on a nearby table, then place the boxes with the clocks in a nice open space, to give her room to work with. The tapestries would be last, because they were heavy and had multiple pieces.

He didn't have any Calvary this time. Rayu sorted the boxes into a row. ok that was done. Then he just opened them all and arranged them all. He had an order to this.
4 silverware 3 clocks 1 tapestry
Rayu paused in the opening of all his boxes and pulled down his shirt to reveal the head of a small cinnamon colored kitten. "I'm Rayu. War." he said in way of identification. The down side to human world was it was hard to recognize who anyone was.
The kitten mewed again demanding attention and rayu pet it again.
Rayu- journal Clan: War - Warrior Arcana: The Magician (Group A) Description: Rayu is about 6'1" with black hair and wings with a green tint. He looks like a he that just waltzed out of the jungle and is wearing war paint and no shirt when not in human mode. (which is whenever possible) His alt form is a big black Panther and his humanoid mode sometimes matches.
Tanita blinked, then laughed when she realized she hadn't listed her clan. "Conquest. And yes I do see you have a kitten there. Where did you get the kitten?" She asked, as she began to sort through her box of silverware, organizing everything as she went in a way that made it easier for her to tell what she had, what she didn't have, and to put it back for whoever would set it up for display. She admired the attractively embossed designs on the platters and the elegant curves of the utensils. She set each piece aside, as she worked, but with care.
When she noticed some tarnish, she shook her head. "Polish things before selling, people. You'll get more for it. Not that it's bad for us you didn't, I suppose." She glanced over at her erstwhile companion, and added "You done this before? I like this task, it's really straight forwards, don't you think?" She paused, and began to recount the forks. She counted them at least four times, a deep frown on her face. Finally, with a dark look, she set them aside, and noted down that there were three forks missing. How dare whoever sent this set try to cheat the company of it's full set! Either they needed to learn to properly note their bills of lading, to show that the set was incomplete, or they were thieves, keeping some of the lovely silver utensils for themselves. Probably to sell for pure silverweight, she'd bet!
"Cinnamon! She, or he I suppose, is adorable. When we're done, might I cuddle the kitten for a bit? I don't get anywhere near enough time to see kittens, after all."
"Well as far as I can tell, that seems to be par for the course. I admit, this is only my second time running this task, but I had missing and broken items last time too." She shook her head, annoyed at the people who would dare deliver such sub par goods, or keep pieces of what was supposed to be a set, let alone that belonged to some one else! She sighed, and packed the silverware set back up, then she turned back to the boxes with the Clocks in them. She opened the first one, with care, then set the nail puller to one side. "Hmmm let's see what you look like, shall we..." She lifted up the wrappings on the clock, and glowered. "Well that's a broken glass pane on you..." She made a note, and closed the box up again.
She turned to the other one, and sighed. "What odds do you want to give that this one will be broken too? I'm betting the odds are quite high, and that I shall be truly irritated at having two broken clocks in a row." She frowned, and popped open the box, then lifted up the packaging... And voila, surprise of the great surprises, she had another broken glass pane on this clock too. "Annnnnnnnnnd bing bing bing, I hit it on the nose. Why don't they package these things with greater care? Or CARRY them more carefully?" She shook her head, marked it down, and closed the box.
"Sure. I'll show you the crew after we are done. There are 4 more." 4 more kitties. That meant 5 kitties total. It was the best.
Par for the corse? did that mean that it wasn't his own terrible luck? He was pretty sure that every time he worked with someone else they had better stuff than him but he just shrugged at the comment.
"Oh hey look I have one whole clock! I'm doing good."
He glanced at her pile which was pretty terrible. "Ok my luck rubbed off on you."
"Five kittens? Oh my goodness, I can't wait to meet them all, Rayu." She gave him a beaming smile, clearly eager to meet the kittens, but she put that aside as she walked over to her three crates of fabricy goodness. Or, well, she HOPED it was fabricy goodness. It could turn out to be more badness. "Your luck?" She laughed and shook her head. "Hardly! Last time, I had a broken clock, missing spoons, and one whole missing tapestry... So I think, just somehow, it's standard that at least PART of a shipment's going to be messed up." She paused, picking up her nail puller again, and getting the lid off the first box. "I could be wrong though, and the two of us could just have horrid luck." She examined the tapestries in the box, and glowered at it. So far, one missing.
She moved over the next box, and popped it open too. Once again, she found a missing tapestry. And that was a REAL pity, given the other two were clearly part of a matched set and the middle one was the missing one. It was lovely, too, a war scene were it was clear the winners were the elegant riders on the right, and the fools on foot were the losers... She sighed, sadly, wishing she could have seen the whole set, in it's proper place.
She got to the last one, and frowned deeply. The box... looked damp. "This... doesn't look good..." She said, in a way that made it clear she didn't even realize she was speaking out loud. "I think there's water damage..." She pried it open and... Yes. All THREE of the tapestries were damaged. She made a mournful sound, because all of the tapestries she'd seen had been lovely works of art. "Oh what idiots these humans be, with such carelessness did they treat thee..." She closed it up and stepped back, glad the work was done, but sad at all the damage she'd seen to what should have been treasures.
"I'm pretty sure I've had only a couple of good things come through." but maybe, just maybe it wasn't just him. That did make him feel slightly better.
The final box had obvious water damage. He sighed and marked it down.
Wait was she talking to him? No just herself. That's fine. He just ignored the chatter. If it got her work done, that's all that mattered. He filled out his sheet.

"I think maybe Ms. Adelaide needs to have..." She paused, thoughtfully considering how to phrase this. "words... with her suppliers and shippers. This seems to be an ongoing issue, and thus is wasting her money, her time, and is just utterly inappropriate. And disrespectful to boot." She shook her head, offended on behalf of the War Heir. "No one should be that disrespectful." She picked her clipboard up and finished out the work on it.
