Commission is generous and the rewards are many.
[ MECHANICS ] Roll 1d6 twice, each roll is half the day. - For whatever reason it seems someone who is enamoured with a competitor's brand has come in just to argue with you about their merits and not buy anything at all. - The sale is very easy indeed, after all your customer is dressed in branded clothing and came here with plenty of money, you even sell them some accessories at three times the markup. - This sale is all right, the person doesn't want much and no amount of convincing them seems to get anywhere, they buy a case for their existing product and leave - Tyr stops by while you are making a very tough sell and the customer is so distracted by meeting the CEO that they relent and spend more than they intended to, even taking out some insurance on their product. - Customer wastes your time by seeming very interested for most of the morning, asking about every single product on sale, going through tests and examples and ultimately saying they will "come back tommorow" as they leave. - An older customer is getting rid of their hugely outdated phone and is only too happy to take you up on the latest hPhone along with lessons for it

She was back to being a helpful salesperson for Pale Horse products and was a little bit early for her shift. Liya planned on using this extra time as an opportunity to mingle with her fellow sales people, maybe make some new friends outside of War. The Warrior always believed you could never have enough friends, although she fully acknowledged the depths of said friendships varied from Horseman to Horseman.
"Hiya~" she greeted a fellow part-timer, "First time working here?"

Jian was still not fond of human clothes. They were not fine enough, and the uniform provided by the job was the same as that worn by all the other workers, which was even worse. He preferred something more distinctive. Still, to work interacting with humans one had to appear more human than one was, and he reluctantly accepted the necessity.
He looked up, realizing he was being addressed. "Yes," he answered with as much dignity as he could muster. "This will be my first attempt at this task. Have you performed it before?"

"Yyyyyyep~" She answered easily, bouncing on the heels of her shoes. She wished there were sandal versions she could wear instead but unfortunately for her, these were the only available footwear.
"It's not exactly easy buuuuuut it's not as hard as working in a Bank." She made a face that wasn't even subtle in his distaste for that type of work. Maybe they were just the same type of job but she'd been lucky with the sort of humans she encountered working at the Pale Horse.
Today might just prove her wrong.
"Sometimes you gotta go up to the humans and talk to them, other times they make a beeline for you." She said, speaking with all the wisdom of having been here a grand number of two times (including this one).
"Ah, a veteran," Jian said. It was impossible to tell if he was being sarcastic or sincere, but his smile wasn't mocking. "You've fared well working here?"
He nodded to her advice. "One would think it wouldn't be too difficult to find a target." He was more used to thinking of humans as cattle than as beings capable of intelligent conversation, but perhaps he would be proved wrong with these interactions. "I will watch for your example."

Liya was about to say that she fared decently considering she was simply winging it on her first day when she realized their shift had started. Not easily flustered, the War Horseman simply nodded and scanned the store for a potential sale.
She didn't actually need to look for one very long as a human, dressed in what Liya would have no idea was expensive brand clothes (to the War Horseman, if it wasn't fur or leather, it wasn't worth whole), sauntered up to her with an air of superiority. Normally that sort of arrogance made Liya itch for a fight but coming from a human it was oddly endearing. Like a little fluffy minipet trying to act all proud and fierce despite being a cutie widdle floof.
The friendly smile that came so naturally to her was tempered with an air of professionalism that prevented said smile from turning deranged as the customer all but emptied the shelves. It really didn't take her much talk to get them to buy more than what they planned for.
When she finished ringing them up, she headed back to her post near Jian. "It's something like that."
Jian watched with interest as his companion spoke to a human dressed in what he understood to be human finery; it seemed to be a good target for her persuasion, accepting her suggestions and eventually purchasing all of what she offered to it. "I see," he replied when she returned to him. "That seems to have been a good one."
It was his turn now, and he found a human to approach. This one's face was lined with age, and the hand in which it held its phone was bony and spotted, its skin thin. Human aging unsettled Jian slightly. It was so different from horseman aging, so obviously frail and degenerating. He kept the feeling out of his expression and greeted the old female with a professionally polite demeanor. She listened to his explanation of the latest model's features, and by the time the transaction was over, she had purchased the new phone and a few accessories to go with it. As the old human made her way back toward the door, Jian reflected that this was still a kind of hunting. It was just a different kind of finesse.
He moved back over to his spot near Liya, and nodded to her. "It went well."
The day was going well enough but alas, there were times when no matter how good a hunter one was, sometimes the prey was just better at escaping. Liya thought she had this sales job down pat and perhaps her previous success made her complacent.
She thought the human was giving off all the right signals, they looked and sounded interested enough. She'd answered their questions and held back on coming on too strong just in case it drove them off. But in the end, rather than going with her to the cashier to be rung up, she got the treated "I'll come back tomorrow."
It took all of her self control not to pull out her daggers and stab the human in the back for wasting her time when she could have been helping someone else!
"You win some. You lose some." she said evenly, the smile on her face had far too much teeth to be genuine and her eyes were glaring at the exiting human.

Jian patted Liya's shoulder amiably. "They're unpredictable," he said, and the underlying comment of [humans! was implied, though not spoken.
His next customer was another older human, this one male, ad was entirely ignorant of the what technology could do. He spent time patiently explaining the functions of the newest phones over and over again, repeating himself at least three times for each feature as the old male blustered and complained. However, in the end, his patience was rewarded; the human bought a new phone, and a case, and a pair of earphones as well.
He had done well, and he only wanted to stab the human a little bit. And his shift was done. He headed for the break room with barely concealed relief, nodding respectfully to Liya.
