The inner sanctum of the city was a bustling collection of oddity. There was so much going on that it was almost hard to concentrate, so many walks of life that the humans partook in. There were the street performers, people handing out fliers, families with small things even in such a city as this one boasted to be. There were drunks and low lifes. Just a network of so much difference that buzzed like a Famine hive.
It was terribly exciting and Elaia wanted to embrace each and every one of them. But it would take too much time, time away from the mission she had set herself upon. There would be at least one human to love by the end of this.
Her destination was a few blocks away, in an apartment building that didn't seem too different from the others around it. Except for the one thing that made it stand out. Its barrier that perhaps the ordinary eye wouldn't notice.

She regained her footing, which took a little bit of effort given the confines of the space. Thankfully she didn't take up much, but his furniture did and the table he had previously been sitting at toppled as she lunged forward once again.
It hit him in the legs, sending him to the ground onto his back. She followed along with it, knees to his chest as she brought up a hand to caress his cheek. "You're so fun," she cooed. He sneered and pushed her backwards with his weapon.Quote: Elaia - Death Guardian (s2)

"That was just mean, can't you see I was trying to be nice?" There was almost a whine there as she tried to slice him again with her sword, but he got the upper hand and scoffed at her.

It wouldn't have normally been a trigger, to anyone really, but something about that had set her off. Her eyes looked almost manic, like he was rejecting her with so little words (really, it should have gone back and forth longer). "But I AM!" She yelled as her form bristled and ice began to keep along her fingers and to the scimitar she held into her hands, solidifying along the blade and making it stronger.

And finally on the ground unconscious. As he hit the tile hard, his weapon reverted back into its original form. He was like a limp doll, not moving and at least saying nothing hurtful anymore.
Elaia bent down and brushed his hair out of his eyes. "I'm beating you because I love you... so you can't hurt anyone else ever again. To protect you from yourself and from everyone." It made total sense in her head, it was the right kind of love here. Because she couldn't rightfully love a Hunter, not with what they did. But she could protect everyone else and themselves from doing horrible things. Yes. That it.
