Izobel had been waiting patiently for the next bus to come along for at least fifteen minutes. Her golf bag sat was propped against the bench and the teen was inspecting the damage she'd accidentally done to one of her driver that afternoon. Was it her fault that a tree suddenly decided to jump into the path of her swing? Dusk was falling over the city and Izzy had decided that it was warm enough to walk part of the way home before catching the connecting bus that would take her the rest of the journey. Knowing which route to take helped ease the burden of carrying her clubs for the entire trek.
Her gaze shot to the empty road and back to the damaged club that she had pulled out of her bag to gaze at. The club was fixable it would just cost Izzy money to do so and also time. But she needed her set to be full otherwise it would mean buying a replacement and that kind of money she didn't have.
For now though she'd "mourn" her ability to drive her balls to potential new distances until the repair was complete.
Dropping the broken club back into her bag with a sigh of disgust Izzy stood up and gave her back a stretch. "C'mon bus. What's the delay tonight?" The teen paused and looked thoughtful, "Oh, probably those 'terrorists' in funny costumes again. Geez, what gives?"Fiction1119 Sorry for the delay. I'll bring in the youma next post. And sorry for short post.

tefla My post isn't much better ^.^' and sorry about the delay as well >.<' figure once the youma appears he has a 'aha' moment and makes her a senshi Bored. Bored, bored, bored. He was B. O. R. E. D. Nothing to do at home. Nothing to watch, can't play any video games, and it was just boring. There was nothing and no one to play with. When the guardian cat got tired of just lazing around he slipped out and went exploring. The city was settling into the night quite easily, a glorious early summer night. How did Mel know it was summer? Easy….. reruns . Ugh. It was to early for the new shows and late for the season finales so everything was in a weird half world where reruns were played. Just about the only thing he could find that interested him at all was 48 hours on CBS and even that was starting to get boring so out into the warm summer night to chase bugs. He wanted to avoid anything that was a mammal… for reasons he wasn’t going to share for any reason. You couldn’t pull it out of him with all the sugar in the world. Nope. Not gonna happen. Forget about it. And any other way one could think of that basically boils down to ‘hell no’. One does not talk about getting chased by a giant squirrel youma. It just isn't done. His mind distracted the large cat trotted down the sidewalk, avoiding the people who actually stopped to stare at the cat as he passed. He nearly passed a bus stop with the singular girl waiting when something had him stop. It was strange. A odd feeling. Not quite like the feeling he got with the two knights, something totally different and yet… similar. He stood there, staring at the girl, trying to figure out what that feeling was. What caused it? Was it the girl? Could she be the reason? Curious now, Mel walked up to the girl and sat down at her feet. His head cocked to the side as he tried to figure it out. “Meow?”

The cat and the girl weren't the only things out that warm summer night. Dusk allowed the flight of a fairly large object in the sky to remain, for the most part, undetected. Of course that changed when it descended to attack targets. But unless one of the victims got away then it still remained unknown to the city. Lazily it took to the darkening sky. A lit area caught its attention and it circled above as if surveying the scene. Something was sitting down on the bench and was rather ... alone. A high-pitched whine filled the air as it descended, looking like a rather large shadowy patch against the stars that were beginning to flicker into existence.=== Izobel had been surreptitiously keeping an eye on the cat as soon as it had come into her line of sight. Izzy was of the belief that the average cat was smarter than their owners were. Considering her beloved bees at home Izzy didn't have any desire to own a feline. There was something that the teen thought of a being a bad mix. Especially if the expression "curious as a cat" came into play at all. Shaking her head at the thought of possible mayhem Izobel once again glanced around before realizing that the cat was now sitting at her feet.
Okay then.
Izobel ignored the presence of the cat for all of about a second after it meowed at her before reaching down to gently and tentatively scratch at its ears. She may not have a cat of her own but that didn't stop her from adoring the sleek forms of random felines on the street. With a sigh Izzy took her hand back and stretched her legs out careful to avoid knocking over her golf bag. "What are you doing out so late kitty? Surely you don't need to catch a ride."
Izobel was really beginning to wonder just where her bus was. Being mindful of the cat that still hadn't departed the bus stop Izobel exited the covered stop and scanned the street in both direction again and giving a frustrated sigh. At least the weather was finally turning more towards the warmth one associated with summer. Izzy glanced up towards the sky and started to pick out various constellations that she recognized before a large blotch of sky simply vanished. "Suddenly I don't have a great feeling about this," Izzy was trying to comprehend just exactly what it was she was seeing. A droning whine registered in her ears and she grimaced at the sound before backing up.Fiction1119 Well, I hope I can do a youma justice

tefla you did just fine and Mel is a bossy little furball ^.^ so have fun with that XD Mel let out a pleased purr, he loved good scratches. Sadly though this one ended way too fast when the girl pulled her back and stretched out. He was tempted to comment about her ‘ride’ statement but right as he opened his mouth to say something he remembered that he was in front of a civilian and the biggest no no a guardian could do was talk in front of a civilian. So he kept his trap shut even as he tried to puzzle out this familiar but not familiar feeling he was getting from the girl. It was like a buzz, a warm and fuzzy buzz but a buzz nonetheless. It was nearly the same kind of buzz he got from the two senshi he upgraded but not quite. This one was a bit lighter and softer and warmer. It was like cotton candy if the other two were rock candy. Yum… cotton candy. Mel liked cotton candy. It was so fluffy and sweet and it melted so easily on one’s tongue. It made a horrible mess though, granted it was part of its charm. Mel also liked rice marshmallow treats, not just the normal ones but the ones made out of other cereals too. Lucky Charms makes the best treat in his personal opinion since you get like big chunks of marshmallow in it from the ‘charms’ not that he really got his paws on it very often. Surgery treats and snacks weren’t really see as ‘cat food’ by a lot of people but Mel wasn’t an ordinary cat, nope he was special. His mental rambling was rather abruptly cut off when the girl got up to check on the progress of the bus. Rather return to her seat, and potentially give more scratches, she looked up and rather ominously stated that she had a bad feeling. His ears pricked forward, a frown settling on his face. Like the girl he had picked up the sound of the whine, he heard it a little bit ago but was so wrapped up in the candy thoughts that he didn’t really pay attention to it. But now… now it was loud and getting louder still. Brushing past the girl to stare up at the sky himself the guardian smothered a curse. A youma was coming. He could sense it. Damn, damn, damn, and triple damn. Mel glanced back at the girl, his golden eyes worried as he realized that he would be fighting this youma alone since she was just a civilian. She was just a civilian…. Right? It was like an electric shock when through him. He knew! He knew what he was feeling! He understood! “Girl! Girl! Come here! Hurry!” Mel called out to her as he ran back into the shelter of the bus bench. She was a senshi. Well she would be. If he did this right. “We don’t have much time and I’ve never done this before. Hell, not even sure how to do it but we don’t have any options right now.” He scrambled to get out of the view of anyone or anything, not that there was anyone around, using the shelter itself to hide from view. “You need to come here now!”

The inadvertent result of being so large was that when trying to close in on a target the result was that if the thing was paying enough attention it would pick up on visual cues that something was not right in the area. As the youma drew closer to the girl it had spotted it realized that this too was the case. Her observation of the night sky had blown it's cover and now it descended towards the ground in an alarming dive before hovering a few feet off the ground. As the girl backed up into the shelter the youma slowed its wing beat before touching down on the ground. Six legs held it upright and the compound eyes it possessed locked onto the girl's heat source. There was something else in that shelter though that was giving off an interesting heat source to. Perhaps if it finished quickly with the girl that it would explore this other, alluring signature. Speeding up the tempo of its wings again the high-pitched whine once again filled the air as it started to close in.=== As the patch of shadow grew larger Izobel had begun to think about grabbing her bag and running like heck. Although putting herself out in the open would be the worst possible solution. Even carrying her bag wasn't the best option anymore as it would slow her down considerably. The time in which thess thoughts flickered through her mind was lightning fast. All Izobel could think of doing was trying to defend herself somehow. Keeping her gaze on the shadowy form that was slowly starting to take a familiar shape Izzy backed into the shelter. It was only as she started to reach for the strap that would allow her to drag her clubs closer to her that she clearly heard a voice saying there wasn't much time and that she needed to come here now. The only problem was that as the teen scanned the street there was no one in sight. Was she going mad now too? Seeing things and hearing things? Only when the voice sounded out again Izobel glanced down to see that the cat was a) still there and b) it was the one that the voice was coming from.
'Must be dreaming,' was a mantra that was going through her mind. 'Might as well humor the cat though.'
Kneeling down and dragging her golf bag closer to provide a crappy shield Izobel reached out her hand towards the cat again and then paused. "Okay, I'm here. Now what?"
As Izobel spoke her head was keeping track of the thing as it landed. Her gaze took in the single pair of wings and the general shape of the insect and cringed mentally at the sight of a rather large proboscis. Seriously, a giant mosquito? Could her night get any worse?
"You know kitty, I hope you have a plan."Fiction1119 Bossy is okay. He's trying to help Izzy out.

tefla not the best of tags >.> sorry “I’ve always got a plan!” Mel boasted even though he rarely had a plan. A general idea… maybe a sketchy strategy but no actual plans. Nothing written down or figured out at least. The guardian kitty eyed the youma, a large mosquito looking critter. He disliked mosquitos typically, whiny pests, but when one is this large… it passes dislike and skids right into disgust and revulsion. Blech. Blech, blech, blech. Filthy blood suckers. He hissed at the youma and then followed his instincts, it's how he had been doing his job so far so why change it. One moment he had nothing the next there was a henshin pen. He had quite literally pulled it out of thin air, or subspace if you will. How he did it Mel didn’t have a clue. He had accessed the space pocket twice before, once to store stolen starseeds and the second time to return them to the princess. He didn’t even know how he did it then let alone doing it now. It didn’t really matter anyway since the pen was already there and he wasn’t taking it back. “Ok so yeah. Take the pen, hold it, and say…. Um….” He had to pause as he thought. They didn’t have time for him to think but he had no idea what she had to say. He didn’t know. Why didn’t he know! He had to know! The youma was getting closer. Time was running out. “‘Lacerta power, make up!’ Say ‘Lacerta power, make up!’ and say it like you mean it!” Mel didn’t really stick around to see if the girl would do it, he ducked right past her to stand between her and the incoming youma. “Someone needs a fly swatter or a giant can or Off,” he hissed at the creature as he took a few ‘back off’ swipes at it, his claws extended and his fur puffed up. This youma was going to be dust if Mel had anything to say about it. Like hell would he let it get near the girl. A guardian’s got to guard and right now he was guarding a girl who would be a senshi.

The youma seemingly had its target trapped now ironically in something that was supposed to provide shelter. Its large compound eyes tracked the movement of the girl as she dragged something that acted like a barrier. What a pitiful waste of time. One delicate leg reached forward and deftly snagged the strap dangling from the side and tipped over the bag. A fairly loud clatter was given as golf clubs bounced off the concrete before falling still. As a bonus result it seemed like the youma had distracted the thing that had swiped at it before. Its wings vibrated in a threatening manner as it stabbed forward towards the animal with its proboscis. First it would deal with the animal then once it was dispatched it would go back to its original target ... a seemingly helpless human. The level of anticipation rose higher at the thought.=== This definitely was beginning to get surreal. Izobel looked at the cat as it brought forth a pen from nowhere and she frowned as she picked it up. A second was spent examining the item before a loud crashing sound interrupted her concentration. Her eyes grew wide at the sight of her clubs laying haphazardly all over the sidewalk. Anger flared inside at the thought that perhaps even more damage had been done to her golf set. Biting back on the scream of frustration at seeing her possessions treated with such callousness had Izzy's mind in turmoil. What would happen if she didn't do as the cat had said? What would happen then?
Pushing the thoughts back down Izobel decided that enough was enough. The cat was right, this thing needed a giant flyswatter. Standing up straight Izobel clenched the pen tightly in her hands and mouthed the words the cat had told her to before pulling every ounce of emotion from deep inside: frustration, fear, anger just to name a few before shouting out the phrase.
"LACERTA POWER, MAKE-UP!"
What she had expected was to continue looking like a fool. However Izobel was surprised by the warm feeling that washed over her. When the feeling dissipated the teen found herself looking completely not normal. Where had this outfit come from? Where those bandages she was wearing? Even though she couldn't see it yet somehow she knew that her hair had changed a little as well. Looking back towards the cat Izobel grimaced at the feeling of wrongness that came from the giant insect. And suddenly it seemed as if that simple action was enough to draw the thing's attention back onto her, "Oh s**t."

Mel hissed in anger when the skeeter yanked the girl’s club bag over scattering her golf clubs everywhere, making him dodge a particularly large one as it bounced past. He didn’t know what kind it was only that it was big. “Where is a bug zapper when you need one,” He muttered, his annoyance quickly changing to anger when the youma stabbed at the distracted guardian with its proboscis. “Hey! Go suck yourself you blood sucker!” The cat yowled as he swiped back at the creature. Fighting a giant mosquito was not his idea of fun. He heard the girl behind him shouting out the magic phrase, Mel honestly had no idea why that was the magic phrase, and then there was a flair of power behind him. A great big grin spread across his face because he knew what that meant. The girl was a senshi. He was right. “Ha! Now you're going to get squished you demon bug!” The cat taunted the youma before doing something monumentally stupid, he glanced back at the now senshi. “Oh look at you,” Mel practically crowed as he took in her outfit. “Don’t you look cool! Congrats! You are now officially a Senshi. First level so nothing horribly special, sorry about that. You are now stronger, faster, better… a real life Michelin Man.” He had no idea that he meant the bionic man not the Michelin Man who was the tire guy from the Michelin tire commercials.

The sudden flare of energy caused the youma to pause and contemplate this new situation. It could tell that now it was perhaps going after something more than just a regular, helpless human. The youma landed almost gracefully amongst the scattered objects on the sidewalk and would have snarled in frustration if it had been capable of such actions. As it was it darted towards the cat that had swiped at it before, stabbing at it erratically with its long proboscis. After all the cat's attention had gone back to the human-not human once more. Maybe it was now easy pickings?=== Izobel had been discreetly checking the thickness of the bandages that covered most of her body. She was glad to note that there was something akin to a gymnastics leotard that covered the more important parts. That was a relief. However the whole situation was just too weird to comprehend. Gripping one loose bandage around her wrist Izobel glanced back to the thing that had landed and then back to the cat. "Uh thanks. But is this the right time for a conversation? Shouldn't we focus on the issue at hand?"
It was not hard to see that the newly awakened senshi was beginning to freak out just a little bit. As of only minutes ago she was normal. Now it looked like that was over and done with.Fiction1119 much apologies in the delay

tefla im not much better dear so no worries ^.^ Mel yowled in anger and pain as the youma’s stabbing proboscis sliced into his side. It was a graze mostly but it still hurt like hell. It was quite literally the injury to the insult that dealing with this giant bug was. Just because he had gotten distracted by his first senshi awakening didn’t mean the damn demon had the right to hurt him. It just wasn’t fair. “You! You! You… stupid... BUG! You!” Mel stuttered as he hissed at the creature. His claws cutting into the air hoping to hit the youma and return favor for favor, blood for blood. “Kill it! Kill it. Kill it. Kill it! Die! Die! Die!” The cat basically bounced around as he shouted his orders, both to the new senshi and to the youma. The senshi had to kill it while the youma had to die. “Ashes to ashes, dust to dust mother ********!” It was strange to see a cat use such language or basicly speeding around like a hyperactive child. “Grab a golf club and whack the thing into next week Lacerta!” Her name spilled from him without Mel even thinking about it. It was her name. Lacerta, Senshi of Bandages. How he knew…. He had no clue. Just like he didn’t know how he knew she was a senshi or her name or how to make her into a senshi or how he retrieved the pen she used to actually become a senshi. Man that was a lot of things he didn’t know. It would be simpler to write a list of what he did know. Number one, youma were bad. Number two, dust the bastards. Number three, golf clubs would do the trick quite nicely.

The ability to know when prey was wounded was almost like a sixth sense that the youma had. It's giant proboscis had definitely made contact with the cat's side and the creature shrieked in triumph before realizing that although now injured the cat was still moving around quite rapidly. One leg lifted off the ground and tried to pin the cat down to the ground as it 'scented' the blood that was being spilled. Attention focused on the task of trying to pin down the cat the youma forgot about the flare of power that had registered on its radar from before. That would be the final error it made. A solid blow to its side had the creature shrieking in sudden agony. It's attention turned once more to the human-not human that now stood ramrod straight with something clasped tightly in its hands. Puzzlement flickered in it's mind before the human darted forward with object raised and brought it down on its head. The youma gave a last dying shriek of agony before crumbling away into dust.=== Izobel heard the yowl of pain from the cat as the giant mosquito stabbed at it. She winced in sympathy for the strange feline. The feeling that had washed over her earlier had left her reeling and yet she knew this had been something that changed her life. It was at that time that she registered that the cat was actually talking to her again and telling her to kill the giant bug and the key in how to do so. Grabbing her driver that had been broken earlier in the day Izobel, no, now Lacerta took a golfer's stance and brought the driver down in a hard swing that connected with the insect's side. The resounding screech almost had the teen dropping the club to cover her ears. Instinct told her not to let go of her chosen weapon. Once the creature turned to glance at her Lacerta gripped the club tightly between her hands and grimaced, "Lights out for you, FORE!" Lacerta raised the club over her head and brought it down with as much force as she could muster. The club smashed into the head of the creature and it bellowed once more before crumbling into dust.
Dropping her club the girl glanced at the cat before sinking to her knees. Reaching out a hand to the cat Izobel waited patiently to see if it would come to her side. "Okay, I'm not sure what has happened but I think that you might need to give me an explanation."

tefla Sorry about the delay. I would say we are close to a wrap up. I'm figuring one more round give or take, ending it with mel rambling off on the info that he has... he will likely have to get a competent cat to actually teach her anything >.<' The youma’s triumphant screech had Mel hissing in annoyance, his ears pinned down against his head. It was loud and screechy after all. It hurt. But he didn’t stop moving, way too annoyed to actually sit still long enough for the giant mosquito to pin him down, barely feeling the cut in his side as he dashed around the creature. He continued his verbal attacks until the thing screamed in pain had the cat covering his sensitive ears with his paws. It was too loud for him to ignore. The first one was like a crow of a pleased hawk, this one more like nails on a chalkboard… intolerable. He nearly yelled out ‘stop it’ just to get the creature to shut the hell up but apparently the girl disliked the sound just as much as he did because she quickly dispatched the youma with one final swing of her club. She dusted the b*****d with a quip and the thing did little more than screech once more before exploding in a cloud of dust. While the senshi sank to her knees Mel climbed to his feet, he had ended up hunkered down against the asphalt doing his best to block out the youma’s screeching. The cat gave himself a vigorous shake, wincing slightly as his wound stung, “Where is a dust buster when you need one.” He sneezed and made a face at the already dispersing cloud of youma dust before turning towards Lacerta. “Hum? Oh! Oh, yes. Of course. First my name is Mlinzi but people tend to call me Mel though I also go by Ze or Lin or Linze or even Shut up but well that last one wasn’t said very nicely so I don’t really answer to it too much.” He sauntered over to her while he did his rambling introduction. “You did really well for your first time facing a youma. I can’t believe it was a giant mosquito! I thought I had seen everything when I was chased by a huge squirrel the other day. Now I really can say I’ve seen it all.” He settled down next to her and promptly tried to clean the cut he received from the youma only to huff in annoyance at finding it at a rather difficult location to reach. “Dang it. It will have to wait then. Anyway… you were saying? An explanation?” He looked at her quizzically, “you sure? I mean you were right here. You know what happened. You were sitting here waiting for the bus and I walked past and then the youma showed up.” He paused to take a breath and only then realized that she was still powered up. “You know, you probably should power down so you don't attract any more negaverse attention.” He had completely missed what she had meant by ‘an explanation’.

The red-headed Senshi of Bandages still looked utterly lost after Mel's explanation. The teen thought that maybe a talking cat would have had more sense to give an explanation as to what the heck just happened rather than a recap. However maybe, just maybe there was pain interfering with the cat's reasoning. Never mind that normally cats weren't supposed to speak but then again giant mosquitoes weren't a thing either unless one watched Jumanji. Well the premise that a board game could do such amazing, frightening things, one had to suspend disbelief for approximately two hours. But this ... this was real ... and not exactly a fun situation.
Realizing that Mel was still attempting to reach the wound on his side Lacerta glanced down at her outfit which were indeed bandages and fingered one delicate loop that was wrapped around her arm. Looking once more at Mel the newly awakened senshi found herself flooded in a feeling that she knew possibly what she could do to help the talking cat. Knowing that perhaps the intrusion into personal space might be not the greatest idea Lacerta decided that distraction was perhaps the better idea. Slowly she reached her left hand out towards Mel's injured side while at the same time speaking up, "How do you power down? I mean I don't even know what I'm doing. I need clarification."
Figuring that the her left hand was hovering within an inch of the cat's fur Lacerta went with her gut feeling prepared to speak a phrase that seemed to be resonating from deep within. She didn't know what it would do but sensed that whatever the feeling was it was meant to help her new friend.
"Lacerta's Healing Touch," it was quietly spoken, whispered actually and her eyes widened at the results.Quote: Sailor Scout Attack: Lacerta's Healing Touch Lacerta will touch an injury on either herself or an ally and whisper her attack. A soft glowing bandage will appear and wrap the injury in a thin layer of bandage-like material. After ten seconds the bandage will disappear. Once gone the area that had been wrapped in bandage will appear to have been healed to a satisfactory level. (( for clarification: the injuries that are treatable would be bruises and cuts that are on the small scale. IE: a superficial bruise or a small cut. Nothing that goes deeper than the epidermis)) This attack can be used three times per battle. However Lacerta can only use it once on herself. **Lacerta doesn't have to touch the injury directly but as close as she can to the location the injury is located. Fiction1119 tag. smile Sounds fair. Oh look, she's helping Mel.

tefla Sorry about the delay >.<' your next post should close this i feel “Powering down? It's like super simple. Like turning on or off a light switch.” He paused a moment then amended his statement, “well like turning on or off a light for you. For me it's a bit more of a pain in the a**. I mean I have to jump to smack the switch and that's only if its one of those little flat switch thingies and not a lever which I can do but it's harder to do so. And don't even get me started on those damn dimmer swipe things. Those bastards can go back to the hell they came from.” Mel was actually going to continue rambling, going on about lights and door handles and maybe actually touch on the topic that Lacerta asked about, but before he could even do that the new senshi did something. One moment the guardian was talking circles around the answer to Lacerta’s question, the next a glowing bandage just ‘poof’ appeared out of nowhere and wrapped itself around his side. Wrapping his wound in a thin layer of magic before fading just as mysteriously as it appeared. The cat gaped at his now bare side not even realizing that the sharp sting of the cut was gone. The fresh wound was now weeks old, damn near healed. Shy of doing something monumentally stupid there wasn’t anything more to do for the slice besides taking care not to reopen it. “Holy s**t! You're a healer! Cool!” He grinned at her and twisted around until she could see his side and the nearly not there mark where just a few moments ago he was wounded. “See, see, see, see. You did that! Magic is bad a** man!” He looked at her proudly, happy to be the guardian cat to find and awaken such a competent and useful senshi. “I got to totally take you to Snowball or Cetus or Siti or…” The Mel continued to list the few senshi, knights, and cats he knew as he shook out his fur and started to trot off only to stop short when he realized Lacerta wasn’t following him. He glanced back at her, “Well aren't you coming? So many places to go and people to see. Come on!”

There was still a general sense of confusion raging inside the newly awakened senshi's mind. Holding her hands up in the air she inspected them by turning them back and forth as she realized what she had done. It wasn't possible, was it? And yet the cat, no Mel, said that it was her magic's doing. Swallowing nervously upon standing the teen glanced over to the her golf clubs and began to pick each one up meanwhile trying desperately to 'rid' herself of the funny outfit. What was it like Mel had said, like turning off a light switch?
Closing her eyes Sailor Lacerta imagined herself standing in a room that was brightly lit. The light was exceedingly bright and glaring and she wished to be rid of it. Stumbling across the room she groped at the wall until her fingers fumbled over a device that she knew well. With a simple flick the room in her mind was cast in darkness. Feeling somewhat drained now she opened her eyes to find that she was no longer wearing such a weird costume. Wondering if the whole thing was a dream Izobel glanced down as the cat began walking away and then to an object she grasped to tightly in her hand. Upon seeing the strange pen from before Izobel sighed and picked up her last golf club before slamming it into the bag in frustration. Just great. It wasn't a dream and she was about to follow some strange talking cat that wouldn't give her any clear-cut answers about what the heck was going on. Why did it have to be her?
As Mel continued to ramble about people she needed to meet Izzy tuned him out. The names meant nothing to her but yet she followed obediently after Mel for the time being.
