[ JOB LISTING ] Loan shark

[ DIFFICULTY LEVEL ] gaia_star gaia_star gaia_star

[ TASK ] It's time to call in some loans - aka the bank's most formidable and infamous task, what they're best known for. He's invited you to some interviews with people who are behind on their loan payments; the office is extremely grand and fancy - and also imposing. Doing this task means that Crane trusts you to know what you're doing, so you'd better not let him down...

[ MECHANICS ] Roll 1d100 and see how well you've fared. You may only have one client a day.

  • 01 - 15 - The person you've been instructed to speak to is a young parent who keeps crying everywhere. It's a little flustering to try and talk when someone is sobbing on your shoulder...needless to say, Crane is disappointed in your efforts. Or lack thereof. ( fail )

  • 16 - 30 - Twins. Why twins? What sort of twins take out a loan together? Apparently to open a small business. They're the type of twins who finish each other's sentences, which gets you both confused and a little annoyed. Crane doesn't appreciate your impatience... ( fail )

  • 31 - 45 - Your patron is a young person - very young. In fact, so young that you're wondering how a person this young even got a loan. But it seems that appearances can be deceiving. You do well in getting them to admit that they need to pay the bank back. ( pass )

  • 46 - 60 - The customer is an elderly person who keeps trying to get you to speak louder and louder because they can't hear you. Crane seems amused by this, but doesn't intervene, even when the patron says that you remind them of their grandchild. ( fail )

  • 61 - 75 - Your patron is an attractive - very attractive - very very attractive - person who keeps flirting outrageously at you. Crane seems to find this quite normal, but it's throwing you off your game. Or maybe you're really good at flirting back. Either way, you actually do manage to convince them to make a payment. ( pass )

  • 76 - 90 - Your meet with someone who is unbelievably derogative and dismissive. No matter how levelheaded you might be, they eventually say something that gets under your skin, and you lose your temper. Crane seems a little entertained by this, but, well, you can't go around snapping at clients, after all. ( fail )

  • 91 - 100 - You meet with a high profile client who is as smooth as a shark and as cool as a cucumber. Nothing you say and do can ruffle them, but in spite of this, Crane seems both pleased and satisfied with your attempts at getting them to repay their outstanding debts. He gives you a nod of commendation. ( pass )

Rayu was not good at this. He wasn't sure why he was called in yet again for this particular task. His last two attempts were complete failures.

This time his assignment was an old woman. Rayu glanced out. She didn't look so tough. But he had thought the same with the first man. He glanced down at her paperwork, trying to figure out what made her have the guts to come get a loan here. Because the only ones who took a loan from here were tough as nails.

"She looks easy but... I don't know." he said before going over to the desk.

Darkjay was not good at this either. Plus he was still fuming at crane so the likelihood of him walking out of here without punching him was low. At least there was a fellow war horseman here he could converse with but he was still incredibly pissed.

He didn't want to do the fund processing again. It was good then he was requested to be a loan shark. Which entailed threating humans to pay money. That seemed more up his alley, he liked making threats.

He looked towards the old human Rayu needed to get money out of, raising a eyebrow. "Maybe. Elderly people are pretty weak after all. You could throw her around I guess." Not that there was any challenge in besting such a weak opponent, but hey.

"We aren't allowed to throw them around." sadly. It would be more fun. shooting baskets or something seemed like better entertainment.

"Alright I'm going in. Yours looks young. Careful, last time I had a young fast talking set of twins." Red heads. It was terrible.

----

Rayu walked over and sat across from the old women.

She was old, and shaky. Her hands were gnarled knots and she twisted them together some times. she had huge coke bottle glasses.

"Ok so it looks like you still owe us some money."

WHAT?"

"I said you owe us money."

"WHAT? SPEAK UP I CAN'T HEARD YOU SONNY."

"I SAID YOU OWE US MONEY."

"FUNNY? YES IT IS FUNNY, I SUPPOSE, YOU LOOK JUST LIKE MY GRAND SON. BIG AND TALL THOUGH I THINK HE'S A LITTLE BROADER IN THE SHOULDER."

Grandson? he wasn't her grandson. He was trying to. "I said you owe us money."

"HE WAS ALWAYS ASKING FOR MONEY TOO."

ugh this woman had no volume control. She talked about her grandson, her dog and everything else but never talked about the money she owed. This went on for about half an hour before he just gave up.

Daym, He was looking forward to beating up humans. "Careful?" Why would he have to be careful? Darkjay looked at the little girl sitting on the chair in front of the desk. Was she even out of school yet? It was surprising they would even give her money. Heck where were her parents? This was stupid.

He walked over, standing much taller then the human girl who's wide eyes showed she was scared. Good.

"You." He spoke plainly.

"Me"

"Yes. You owe money."

"I do?" She seemed confused. "I didn't know."

"Well, now you do." There was no need to act tough or do anything else. The girl knew she was in trouble even without his interference.

"Okay. I'll pay it back soon." Then she was out of her chair and out the door. He didn't do anything else, he wasn't paid to get the money of them.

Darkjay sat back and, with his job done, focused on what Rayu was doing. He was failing miserably, leaving him to laugh at his misfortune and at just how dense the old lady was.
