Maebe wasn't necessarily thrilled to be at Adelaide's once more, but something about the place was soothing, and she appreciated that. When she was handed a small wooden crate, she realized today would be different than the normal painting work. She sets her crate down on a table, and empties the pieces out one by one. Adelaide told her they were greek, and old, and she had to be careful. Maebe, being a delicate soul, had no trouble with this job.
It was like a puzzle. She treated the work like a game, re-assembling the pieces with the special adhesive given.
But she wished she was re-assembling them using gold. She loved that kind of work.

She had six pieces, all together. She could see where four of them fit together, but two of them eluded her. So she put the two aside, and focused on the four she could understand. When they were done, she was sure she would be better equipped to find a spot for the other two.
She mixed and matched until it looked just right; still broken, but together. Then she glued them up once she was sure, and let it set for a moment.

Sure enough, now that four pieces were made into one, it was easier to see where at least one of the other two pieces went. So she set it in with the glue, and held it until she was sure it would stay.

The last piece would only have been manageable now, after she'd put the others together. She set the top in and glued it, waiting until it was good and tight before letting go. There. Good as new!
