Maybe it was a side effect of the memory rehabilitation process. He didn't give much thought to it in any case now that the episode was over and he felt mostly back to normal. Mostly because the missing memory of the day before yesterday's events was still a blank slate in his mind though it probably wasn't a big deal since he pretty much could recall everything else like where his things were, how he met Thias, who he grew up with and was still pretty much able to function.
Looking out of the window and at the huge red crystal, Rook blinked when he got the feeling that he ought to know something else. Something buried in the deeper recesses of his mind that he should be able to grasp onto if he tried hard enough. While he stopped to ponder over that, it was at that moment when he noticed that the colour of the crystal was more dull compared to a while ago. Staring at it, he saw the cracks that started to form at its base, how they quickly grew longer and thicker while robbing the crystal of its colour and rendering it an ashen grey. And then all of a sudden, there was nothing but darkness when the power went out.
Swallowing thickly, Rook stood his ground and waited to see what would happen next. Thias. He needed to get to him and make sure that he was alright. It didn't take long for the lights to come back on though it was followed by a slew of text messages that gave a brief rundown of what had just happened along with what they needed to do.
Nothing made sense at all. Sending them to the Human World to collect fear to restore the power was only a temporalising measure if the crystal was broken like that and beyond repair. What was going to happen to all of them and their home then? Would they need to relocate? Was there any place that would be suitable for the relocation even?
Now that the light was back, Rook moved quickly towards the elevator, nodding to the horseman (one of the heirs of the War clan) who had stationed herself next to the elevator to explain the situation and hand out the crystals that they would need to use to collect fear with. The trip to the Human World would have to wait for now. More importantly than ever, he had to find Thias even if he had to search every floor of The Dusk for the Famine Sage.
