Stepping out of the elevator and into the Famine Common Floor, Rook decided that he would try the Conservatory first rather than Thias’ room (partly because he did not fancy finding his way through the dark and amidst the chaos that erupted since the emergency situation that overtook Dusk). It was a open area that was frequented by many Famine Sages based on his previous observations and he figured that he could cover a lot of ground if he took to the air and searched from a higher vantage point.
And so that was what he did, his eyes keenly combing the ground to try to spot the familiar figure that was the Famine horseman in question.

After everything the heir had said about the crystal Thias had found his way back to the the conservatory after spending, what considered too many minutes wasted trying to figure out where Rook had disappeared to. The entire affair had left his gut feeling uneasy, as if he had forgotten more than just a day, that something was entirely off and wrong but he couldn't put his finger in it. Now he was spacing a spot on the floor completely lost in his own world of thought between the ominous feeling and where to find Rook.

Aha! So there he was!
Rook grinned to himself as soon as he spotted Thias from the air. Waiting for the Famine horseman to be exactly where he needed him to be for what he had in mind, Rook angled his wings slightly to begin his descent, smiling to himself as he felt the wind against his face at the rapidly gathering speed.
Yes. This was perfect.
He stretched his arms out just as he was about to reach Thias to scoop the unsuspecting Famine Sage into his arms, his wings spreading out and rapidly beating now to carry the both of them back into the air for their private mid-air reunion.
"Miss me?"

Finally, Thias pulled out his phone if he was going to find Rook he was going to have to break down and finally send the stallion a text, though he stared at it trying to decide what sort of excuse he would use. Before he could type out even the first word something scooped him up his feet leaving the ground entirely as he gave a rather undignified yelp of surprised clinging to whomever it was. “ROOK!” It came out like a strangled scream as he buried his head into a chest. “You ******** scared me.”

It was a gratifying experience in Rook's opinion, seeing Thias' reaction to what he did until he started to wonder if he might have overdone things a little when Thias buried his head in his chest and told him that he had scared him.
"S-Sorry..."
Holding the Famine horseman close in his arms, he patted his back a few times and cooed, trying to calm his nerves and make it up to him some.
"Guess I got carried away. Sorry... I don't mean to..."
He sighed as he brushed a kiss to Thias' temple and forehead.
"Where were you? I searched the entire hospital and found your room but you weren't there anymore..."

His eyes were still closed rather tightly shut as he kept his face buried, looking at Rook meant acknowledging he was flying, which meant as soon as he opened his eyes he would look down. Down was not good, down meant more panic, so he choose to cling instead, ignoring it. It wasn’t that Thias had a problem with flying as so much as he had a problem with heights and it being left entirely out of his control. “I left the room as soon as I woke up, I did a few jobs at request and then the power went out.” Thias purposely left out the fact that he spent half of it looking for him in exchange.

While he enjoyed the feeling of having Thias cling to him like a child to his mother, it worried Rook that Thias seemed to be pretty shaken by his earlier antic so he slowly lowered the both of them to the ground before wrapping his wings around the other horseman.
"I see. Are you alright? Are you hurt anywhere?"

“I am not hurt.” Thias snapped a little too quickly as he shot a look up at Rook as soon as he could feel the solid ground beneath his feet again. He glared for another beat, two, before sighing and pressing his forehead to Rook’s chest. “I don’t like heights.”

While Thias glared and snapped at him, Rook chewed on his lip and debated if he ought to let him go, give him some space since it seemed like he very much needed that right now. Thankfully for him, Thias eventually seemed to snap out of that, leaning in to rest his forehead against his chest with a sigh.
"Sorry... I won't do that again. I don't mean to scare you like that..." Rook frowned as he resumed rubbing Thias' back and softly cooed some more.

It was undignified being treated like a colt by Rook but Thias let it go slipping his hands around his waist. Maybe he enjoyed the attention, just a little not that he would speak it out loud to anyone. "Just warn me next time when you plan on making me fly."

Rook
The feel of the arms around his waist and the somewhat begrudgingly forgiving tone in Thias' voice was enough for Rook to relax somewhat, his hands lifting to lightly massage the other's shoulders and neck.
"I will. I'll give you ample warning next time..."
Thias
"Good." Thias mumbled still pressing into his chest. He remained there for a few more seconds before pulling away and finally looking up at him chewing slowly on his bottom lip. "I assume you saw and heard about the crystal then?"
Rook
He gazed deep into his eyes and nodded. "It's worrying what this foreboding event spells for our future here. It's like they're not telling us everything. "
Thias
"Of course they aren't.... though I feel like there is something not quite right entirely. " There was a pensive look on his face as his thoughts drifted back to the missing memories and the rooms each of them had found themselves in. "Have you collected any fear yet?"
Rook
"Yeah. Like how i can't remember still how i landed up in the hospital. How many people that affected?" Rook agreed, pausing for a moment to shake his head. "I wanted to find you first. Make sure you're alright. It won't be the same without you..."
Thias
Thias looked at him, brow a little raised as if he wasn't entirely sure he believed him on the matter of him handling jobs without him. It wasn't as if Rook wasn't capable on his own, probably more capable then Thias was at least when it came to fighting, and probably looking better in human clothes than he did, everything made him feel too skinny and too overdressed. "We should get started then, maybe doing that will bring us somewhat closer to figuring things out."
Rook
If Rook knew the thoughts that went through Thias' mind with the brow that was raised, he would make sure that he corrected the Famine horseman's thoughts on the matter immediately. Each of them had their own forte and there were plenty of things that Thias was good at whereas Rook was not - there would be jobs that would suit Thias and his abilities more so he wasn't any less capable than Rook really at the end of the day. As it was, he remained oblivious to the other horseman's thoughts so he puzzled over the raised brow for a while before nodding in agreement. "Let's go then. The sooner we get this over with, the better."
Thias
Thias nodded in agreement finally letting go of Rook entirely and smoothing out his clothes and his hair from the earlier flight, his fingers still trembled as he held them. A part of his wasn’t sure if it was just from near death experience or the fact that everything was going to hell and he was apart of it.
“We should do a job first, or at least that should help right? Then head to a base, secure more fear that way.” He shifted heading towards the portals looking back for Rook to follow him.
Rook
"Yeah. Let's start with a simple job first then work our way up from there." Rook concurred, quick to follow Thias' lead as he snagged one of the Sage's hands to give it a small squeeze. The broken red crystal, the possibility of losing their home, the uncertainty of the future that they once had - all of these were frightening thoughts that Rook was trying to keep himself from thinking lest the fear incapacitated him and prevented him from doing what he needed to in order to prevent such a future from coming to pass.
