Quote: [ JOB LISTING ] Guard [ DIFFICULTY LEVEL ] gaia_star gaia_star gaia_star [ TASK ] Thing's are getting a bit heated near one of the embassies, and additional guards are needed. One of the side effects of having War clan members visiting often is that sometimes they have an effect on the local populace. Which isn't necessarily terrible, but embassy buildings don't grow on trees. Except for the wooden ones, maybe, but those are extremely flammable. Anyway, calls for extra gaurds at the various embassies aren't uncommon, and this time it's Edict herself who takes notice of you. "Go help." Conquest isn't one to mince words, to be honest, but ignoring them isn't wise. Pick any city in the world to have this take place and roll 3d4 for three prompts. You can have your character try to duck out of guard duty instead by rolling 1d10. 1-9 they get caught and you need to write all 4 prompts instead. Roll a 10 and they successfully don't get caught, after a fun day in the city causing a ruckus, they get back and join in time to receive pay and commendation for a job well done.
Embassy HP: 1000 A crude bomb of some sort is lobbed over the wall. You can choose to try tossing it over, defusing it, or containing the explosion. Roll 1d4 - even is successful, odd is a failure. Failure costs the embassy 250 HP A rioting mob storms the doors, there are literal torches and pitchforks being waved about. It's actually kind of charming, but this is no time for nostalgic remembrance! Fight them off, persuade them, or barricade the building. Roll 1d4 - even is successful, odd is a failure. Failure costs the embassy 250 HP (but no need to continue rolling for this prompt!) Hunters have infiltrated the battle zone, discreetly joining the human attacks. Pick them out and pick them off as best you can. Roll 6d100 to determine how much damage the hunters (and possibly you yourself) cause before you get rid of them A War Heir has gone happily berserk at the fighting and transformed into a fifty foot monster horse. Roll 1d100 to soothe them. If you roll any number containing 1 or 9, you succeed. If you don't, then that number is the damage taken by the embassy. Continue rolling until they are successfully soothed.
Should the embassy fall, Edict shows a quiet display of disappointment in you and has you removed from her sight for the rest of the day.

'Go help'. That was what she'd been told. Go help and try to not help cause too much chaos, with a pointed look. Given that she was a War clansmen herself, she could understand the look.
That said.
The place she was sent to was...
"I cannot fathom how it's this hot, and how humans live here," she muttered to herself, standing outside the embassy in, what was it? Ah yes Phoenix, Arizona. Which was actually located in a suburb called Tempe, but apparently human clan land lines were not cleanly cut nor drawn, so everything flowed into one another. What did they even do during territorial disputes, she wasn't sure.
Yet it was flat, it was sweltering, and she was stuck in that sufferable sweater again.
Joy.

Quote: A War Heir has gone happily berserk at the fighting and transformed into a fifty foot monster horse.
The ragtag fighting that was going on was almost comical to Asuna. These weak humans brought so little to their fights, and hid behind walls and pointed things at each other. It didn't get quite exciting until a few of them took out blades and sort of tried stabbing in the other person's general direction.
Until.
The fifty foot horse monster that once was one of the War Heirs stood in the middle of the street.
"Well, that is not good."

She watched as the giant horse kicked one of the fighting humans into the air and they vanished into the distance like a tiny gnat. Huh.
"Heir! You just kicked a human into the sky, I think it's time to stop..." Yes, this would calm a being of pure bloodlust by thinking about one human. Yes. Good Asuna, good.

Oh dear, there went a bus. Asuna grimaced and tried to chuck some rubble at the giant horse to get it's attention.
It worked. A bit too well.
"Nononononoooooooooo!" And that was how a 6ft Amazonian woman in a sweater raced down the street while a giant horse charged after her.

"That cacti did nothing to you, Heir! There was no need to set it on fire!" Asuna snapped at them, to no avail.

Clearly, the cacti had done something to offend the Heir, and Asuna could not say anything otherwise. She watched with mild facination as the giant horse took out half of a place called 'the Tempe Marketplace' which seemed to be some sort of bazaar like location. In one loud stampede, several buildings were rendered demolished, and smoking.
"Fair... enough, you do not like cacti nor bazaars..."

"Enough of this Heir! You need not to take out half the city, I'm sure the humans will do it for you! Come now," called up Asuna, hands on her hips. The Heir finally, finally heard her and hung their head dejectedly before returning to their humanoid form.
"I lost myself in the rolling bloodlust of all these humans, my apologies, thank you for your assistance Executioner Asuna," they said to her, hanging their head and wings drooping at their sides. Asuna let out a sigh of relief and gave a brief nod.
"It was nothing, but please contain yourself. We risk our operation with you bucking all over the place." They seemed to nod and muttered something about it wouldn't happen again. Satisfied, Asuna turned to the next task at hand.

"NO, NOT AGAIN, NO BAD HEIR, STAY. STOP. STAAAAAPPPP."
No sooner than she'd turned her back did the Heir transform again and barrel down the street in a rage.
For real? Was this happening? Twice in less than an hour?
The Fear better be worth this. Asuna's blood boiled and she growled through clenched teeth. Normally she would engage in this, spill blood across the floor, and rejoice. But, as insuffereable as it was, these were humans and they were relatively defenseless to Horsemen.
Besides, it was bad form for the War Heir to go berserk like this. What would the other clans say? Honestly...

"That little old woman and her feline friends DID NOT DESERVE YOUR HOOF you great big idiot!" Asuna snarled, baring teeth at the giant horse. She swore, this was going to terribly. Oh she was going to end someone. Oh yes. That someone was going to be the giant horse currently chasing after cats.
Her wings twitched in her frustration. To hell with this sweater, she did not care if she offended or scared anyone. The only way she was taming this Heir was to smack him in the face.
With her own fists.

By now Asuna was started to get agitated. The monster horse heir took out two poles holding up wire above the road ( 'power lines' the people at the embassy called them) and then spent ten minutes rolling in the downed power lines because for some reason unknown to Asuna, it was the thing to do.
A vein in her forehead twitched and she walked over to the great beast to soothe it.
Only to get a hoof to the chest in their rolling around.
Touche.

"...I will consceed that as impressive, this time," she said, as she watched the giant Heir horse barrel down the street fast enough she had to summon a wyvern to keep up with them, and expertly leave a tale of the destruction in the ground with their hooves. While at full speed. While dodging the horseless carriages.
Rather impressive, if showing off.

To ask Asuna what happened next, later while giving her report, would bring a blank sort of stare to her face and then she would violently shudder and completely pass by the question and skip the next few minutes of her existence.
Somethings are better left unseen. By anyone.

Upon recovering herself, Asuna hiked up the constricting sweater and let her wings stretch. It was time to end this farce, and restore order to the embassy.
To restore her sanity, and to cleanse the image seared into her mind from existence.
With a roll of her shoulders, fluffing her wings briefly, she shot into the air to meet the Heir head on.
Shudder. Not... not like that Asuna.

"Heir stop thi----" No sooner than she'd flown into the Heir's face did she get slammed into the train system of the city, by that same face.
