[ JOB LISTING ] Funds processor

[ DIFFICULTY LEVEL ] gaia_star gaia_star

[ TASK ] Crane would like you to take over for a sick employee in order to gauge your skills and also because time is money and a missing employee means missing possible money. It's time to do a little processing in order to prove your worth.

[ MECHANICS ] Roll 3d6 and match your results below. You may only take on two clients a day (two rolls).

  • Two matching numbers - You did all right. Not terribly, not fantastically, but you managed to at least get several things processed - and on time, to boot. There was a troublesome customer [ please rp this out ], but you managed to do well! ( pass )

  • All three matching numbers (except 6,6,6) - You did AMAZING. Crane is so impressed with your work that he decides to give you a pre-holiday bonus. He watches as you skillfully handle irate customers and confused patrons, especially one customer in particular who seems not to understand how banks work... [ please rp this out ] ( pass )

  • All three random numbers - You're average. Unremarkable. Dull. Crane seems very disappointed; he watches as you sluggishly move from patron to patron, but he leaves before your shift is over - which only settles in his lack of interest in you, even if you did manage to process a customer who likes to scream [ please rp this out ]. ( fail )

  • Sequential numbers (does not have to be directly in order - i.e. 2,3,1 is fine) - You're nothing spectacular, but Crane still seems to find you interesting, and perhaps a little amusing. He's observing your progress, and while you start off rocky when dealing with a customer who thinks money comes before breakfast [ please rp this out ], by the end of your temporary shift, you've got a knack for things. ( pass )

  • 6, 6, 6 - You do so badly that Crane seems on the verge of throwing you out. He's not angry, per say, but he's wearing an expression that shows he is extremely displeased - and this coming from a man who does not like to be displeased. ( fail )

She was going to help. Everyone had to do their part, they all had to do what they could. So she was here, at the bank, ready and willing to fill in for someone. It couldn't be that hard, could it?

The only catch was Sen Shi had never really worked in a bank before. She been in one, but never worked. Still, she nodded as the job was described to her. She could do that, right? She'd be fine.

It seemed she was fine, for the most part. The job... wasn't too difficult. Nothing spectacular and certainly not exciting. Sen Shi was having a really hard time being excited about this job.

Her excitement levels dropped even further when her very first actual customer started screaming at her. For the first few moments, Sen Shi just stared at the customer. Was this woman actually screaming at her? Was no one going to stop this? She looked around for security. Nope, they didn't look too alarmed.

Something, a phrase she'd heard once long ago flickered in her mind. Something about customers and how they should be helped and treated as right.

... Sen Shi was fairly certain the only right thing to do here was cut the woman's throat. That would shut her up and teach her to not be rude. Jaw clenched, Sen Shi reminded herself that killing people was not proper behavior. She needed to just calm down and get through this.

"I'm sorry ma'am," she said in a syrupy voice. "Here, let's just...start over. Yes of course." The woman would look so good covered in her own blood... such a shame that wasn't allowed.

Just as she finished up with Miss Rude and Loud, a second client was ushered her way. Sen Shi didn't think that was remotely fair, as she still had a lot of paperwork to file about the first client.

Scowling, she set the paperwork aside, but her face was all smiles as she turned to the new client. "How may I help you today?"

Miss Rude and Loud had been replaced with Miss Scream and Yell. Sen Shi actually flinched from it.

She went to her calm place. Dead pan and slow, she mentally went to the tranquil garden where she relaxed. She nodded and moved papers, but she was only half listening. Don't take it personally, she reminded herself. If she took it personally she'd want to maim and murder, and that wasn't allowed. She was here to work, not kill in a fit of well-deserved rage.

She didn't even say "have a nice day" to the client when they left.
