[ JOB LISTING ] Assistant Metalworker [ DIFFICULTY LEVEL ] gaia_star gaia_star
[ TASK ] The metalworkers are a side division of Horse, a place for Death horsemen and other crafting inclined clans members to test out new blends of materials for potential use in their products and to help supply neighbouring horseman front businesses with better materials for weapons and other creations.
As a part time metalworker you get to work under the master smiths and craft. It is hot, tough unpleasant work but it is what floats some people's boat.
[ MECHANICS ] Roll 1d6 twice, each roll is half the day. You must obtain at least one success per day to collect your prize
- You mix in the molten metals in the forge as instructed but the result doesn't blend properly and when it cools you are left with a cracked mess and a very disappointed supervisor. FAIL - Following the instructions works out really well and you get a bar of some of the nicest purest metal you have ever seen. SUCCESS - Filling in a large metal mould for the manufacture of an important part goes off without a hitch, and you are given a big smile rather than the usual scolding. SUCCESS - Tyr is stopping by and you can either explain your days work to him (by Quoting Baneful) or you can assume he was really into it and took note of your name for potential promotions in future. SUCCESS - Everything goes really badly, no matter what you do the anvil doesn't like you, the forge hates you and everything you try to do is fraught with problems. - FAIL - You get to finish early for lunch or heading home as all the tasks for the day are completed in record time. SUCCESS

Terr had tried, he really, truly tried to complete the job but he couldn't risk another failure under Tyr's company. Not with the current state of the Dusk's crystal. He had to gather more FEAR for the clan and if that meant taking an easier task, then so be it. As he entered the workshop, Terr wondered why he had taken so long to realize this was the better place for him. He would be using his hands the way he'd always known to use them and put his jewelry crafting to use! He was assigned to fill a large metal mould. Oh. Well. It wasn't the intricate crafting and designing he had hoped for but it would suffice. Safety gear on, Terr personally saw to it that the mould had the necessary amount. Neither too much nor too little. The smile he was given was accepted graciously with a nod of acknowledgement and a return to his work. On the inside however he was doing a little shimmy of victory.

For his second half of his shift in the forge, Terr was granted permission to shape a prototype alloy into his choice of jewelry or weapon. After studying the quality of the metal and what it was that went into the mixture, he settled on a set of hair ornaments that could be combined into one large piece or several multiple smaller pieces. Nodding at this design, he was about to get work to folding the metal into the workable thickness when Tyr stopped by to see how he was doing. Terr was not his usual monotone, not only because he was explaining his project to Tyr but it was one of the few things the Death Horseman ever openly became passionate about. In the end, Terr had his name noted for potential promotions in the future. When he was left to his devices, he all but swooned in joy.
