"Okay, look," Adelaide seems very irritated. "We just had two trucks come in and drop off their goods. Those nincompoops," she points at two part-timers, "unloaded everything without marking things down." Eight large boxes are sitting on the dock.
She hands you a clip-board. "I need you to check each box's invoice and decide where it goes. If the invoice says 'Cavalry' you just put an X here," she points to the bottom left corner of the paper, "and have those boobs stack it over there. Don't actually count Cavalry boxes in the total number of boxes on the form. If it says anything else on the box, I need you to open it and make sure the invoice matches. Fill out your report when you're done."
Roll 8 d4: These are the boxes, and there are 8 of them. For each box follow the instructions below and RP accordingly. --If you roll doubles, it means you have two of that particular box and need to follow it's instructions twice. Same with triples, etc.
This box says it holds one complete silver dinner set. Roll 1 d10 to see what's missing.

This box is supposed to hold on large grandfather clock. Best check for damages. Roll 1 d6. If even it's in perfect condition. If odd the glass on the front is broken. You had better make a note.
Three large tapestries from the year 1400. Roll 1 d4. If you roll a 1 or 2, one tapestry is missing. If you roll a 3, they all have water damage. If you roll a 4, everything looks good!
This box is labeled "Cavalry". No need to check the contents, simply RP ordering the part-timers to stack it in the corner.

Truth be told, she was just excited to be in the Human World. The clothing she got from the stores before she left were adorable. Far from the monochrome attire she was used to, the hodgepodge of random bits was almost ideal to her. Boots squelched in the puddles, the asymmetrical skirt frothing around her legs. Even the green floral shirt was super cute, long enough to be a short dress on it's own really.
She could get pretty used to being out in the world like this! Briefly, she'd laughed, wondering how Cain would take to her appearance now. Her dark hair was done up in a haphazard ponytail, some of her bangs still falling around her face, multiple pierced ears visible and dangling with slender chains and stones. Various bracelets clinked as she moved and took the clipboard from Adelaide. Check the invoices, make sure the boxes had what they were supposed to in there, record whatever was off. Easy.
The eight boxes sat innocent as could be, and Kara lifted a brow. Was it really so hard to get them checked away properly the first time? She huffed, blowing a lock out of her eyes before offering a smile to the boss and a quick confirmation she'd handle it.
As the woman took her leave, Kara stepped up to the first box, looking over the invoice quickly. A... complete silver dinner set? Well alright then. That was pretty nice actually. Nothing about Cavalry like she'd said, so she opened up the box to take a peek about what was inside. Looking over the list for what should be inside, it was pretty easy to narrow things down. Missing the... hm. Three of the forks. Her eyes narrowed. Who'd just take the forks? And not everything else? How strange. Shaking her head, she noted it down on the form. Well, one down.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF MY CHARACTER A rather short Death Priestess, her pale skin draped with silver and pale gems. She keeps her black hair mostly tied up in a loose braid or tail, though her bangs tend to slip out and drip around her face and shoulders. Feathers adorn her outfit beside layers of dark cloth. Her voice does not always fit the more somber appearance, bright and laughing, chiming like bells even as she scoffs and sneers.
The next box was pretty big, and when she checked the invoice she winced a bit. A grandfather clock. Meaning sensitive, fragile pieces that could easily have been busted up in the transport. Carefully she opened the box and began to shuffle through the packing stuffing they'd tossed in there. There certainly was a lot, and bunches of it spilled out onto the ground around the box as she looked over the various pieces of the clock that she could see. Without taking it apart, that is. Tempting though it was. Metal crafting wasn't her strongest suit, but she could still very much enjoy playing with small jewelry pieces, or even practicing at the forge with larger works. Nothing quite this intricate, but it still marveled her to see how they functioned.
Each piece of the clock she examined seemed to be in one... well, piece. No cracks or blemishes, no missing pieces to keep the clock from ticking once wound up. She let out a held breath, a sigh of relief. It'd have been a large shame to have seen such a pretty work of art reduced to useless parts. Pleased with her examination, she didn't bother making a mark on the paper on her board, as the form only asked for information on missing or damaged pieces. Instead she set the board down on the ground and quickly put all the packing materials back into the box, carefully positioning things to keep the pristine clock in as good of a condition as she'd found it in.
Like she needed for it to be damaged after she inspected it. No thanks!

Next box. Number three. Kara flicked her gaze over the paper. This time, a collection of tapestries, from... 1400? Oh that was nifty. Amused, she pried open the box and peered inside. More packing padding surrounded the tapestries, and she peeked at each one, trying to be sure that nothing was moth bitten or ripped, or worse--missing.
But after all the counts and the checks, everything seemed to add up correctly, and she grinned. This really wasn't such a hard job. Why didn't people just do it right the first time? Not that she minded getting paid for simple, easy work...

Oh well hello there. Kara lifted a brow, hand pressing to her hip as she eyed the invoice for the fourth box. Calvary was written clear as crystal on the page, glaring back at her with forbidding and intriguing queries. There wasn't any note what was in the box, and she searched both sides of the page.
Plus the boss lady didn't say what the contents were. Just. How to handle it. Stick an X in the corner, move it aside, and don't count it with the other boxes. Easy as pie, and move along. But what was it? Calvary? As in, combat? Her eyes narrowed as she beheld the box. As if she could suddenly see through the walls and see the contents. As if. But her curiosity was spiked. Sighing, she marked the page as ordered, and shook her head. She knew better than to pry into something like this. It was far above her pay grade.

Box five. She hummed as she checked the next paper on her clip board, and snorted at the file that stared her down from the page. Calvary again. What was all this for? Again she squinted at the box, nudging it with her boot and listening for what might move around inside. Not that she could hear anything--probably for the best--and she marked another X on the page as before.
She'd heard some rumors that the shop was dealing in some not so good things--but by whose standard? Human's? Or horsemen? One was fine and dandy, the other one was problematic.
But she shrugged and continued on. She was over halfway done now at least, and she didn't intend on prying into secrets that weren't hers. At least, not now. Nor was there really a reason to be worried about all this. Surely. Right?

Tix tack toe, three Calvary boxes in a row. Kara let out a low whistle, tapping her foot lightly against the ground, splashing the small puddles that remained from all the rain. Oh her curiosity was growing, and she knew it was going to eat at her pretty bad if she didn't watch it.
It didn't concern her. If it did, she'd have been notified where they were to go after she finished marking them off and people took them off. She'd have been told what the contents were if she was supposed to know. It ate at her, a simple curiosity and an active imagination, but she knew far better than to act on anything.
Oh she could imagine and laugh about it, but nothing more. Anything else was pointless and asking for trouble she didn't need. And, to be fair, she did just get told by Cain to not get into any trouble. Which was apparently going to be harder than she figured if this kept up.

The second to last box! Well this wasn't so bad. Kara once more pried open the box after seeing the invoice declaring a grandfather clock, bracing herself for the worst inside.
Leafing through the packing fluff and bits, she looked at another well-crafted clock, humming in her admiration of the craftsmanship. Bit by bit she searched it over, examining the glass, wood, and smaller pieces for signs of damage, or wear and tear. But once more, it seemed like the packing stuffing had helped to keep it safe during the ride over, and she breathed a sigh of relief. Packing it back up, she didn't make another mark on her paper--really, most were turning out to be in great condition! It just left one more box, and then to finish up her report, and the job would be done. Not a bad thing really.

The last box! Kara grinned as she opened up this one. Another dinner set. She kept her fingers crossed that all the pieces were inside--heck, maybe even the missing four forks from the other set--as she opened up the box and began to look around.
Everything checked off, except.... two plates. She sighed, marking that down on the paper. So much for finding the forks. Not even all the plates were taken. What gives? Were they lost or broken before the set was shipped out? Stolen?
She snorted in amusement at the idea that someone would be stealing utensils and plates, but then, reconsidered seeing as they were silver. Well. Not her problem, right? She packed everything back up, and stood there as she wrote up the rest of her report.
