[ JOB LISTING ] Inventory Manager [ DIFFICULTY LEVEL ] gaia_stargaia_stargaia_star [ TASK ] Monitor and list all incoming and outgoing inventory.
"Okay, look," Adelaide seems very irritated. "We just had two trucks come in and drop off their goods. Those nincompoops," she points at two part-timers, "unloaded everything without marking things down." Eight large boxes are sitting on the dock.
She hands you a clip-board. "I need you to check each box's invoice and decide where it goes. If the invoice says 'Cavalry' you just put an X here," she points to the bottom left corner of the paper, "and have those boobs stack it over there. Don't actually count Cavalry boxes in the total number of boxes on the form. If it says anything else on the box, I need you to open it and make sure the invoice matches. Fill out your report when you're done."
Roll 8 d4: These are the boxes, and there are 8 of them. For each box follow the instructions below and RP accordingly. --If you roll doubles, it means you have two of that particular box and need to follow it's instructions twice. Same with triples, etc.
This box says it holds one complete silver dinner set. Roll 1 d10 to see what's missing.
-----If you roll a: -------1. Everything is there. -------2. It is missing the gravy boat. -------3. Two spoons are no where to be found. -------4. One serving platter is listed, but not in the box. -------5. Three forks have magically disappeared. -------6. One spoon and on butter knife are missing. -------7. Everything is there. -------8. Two plates are missing. -------9. There are NO forks in this set. WHAT?! -------10. Everything is there, but the large serving platter has a huge gouge on it. Best make a note.
This box is supposed to hold on large grandfather clock. Best check for damages. Roll 1 d6. If even it's in perfect condition. If odd the glass on the front is broken. You had better make a note.
Three large tapestries from the year 1400. Roll 1 d4. If you roll a 1 or 2, one tapestry is missing. If you roll a 3, they all have water damage. If you roll a 4, everything looks good!
This box is labeled "Cavalry". No need to check the contents, simply RP ordering the part-timers to stack it in the corner.
When you are done checking all 4 boxes, fill out the form below and post it in your last post.
"Thank you," Adelaide says as you hand over your form.

When he decided to head to the Human World to do some work, he really wasn't anticipating work like... this. His amber eyes immediately turned to stare down at the clip-board handed to him and to another War horseman, Efreet, whom Nadir shot a we're really doing this? look to. It felt odd to be wearing human clothing and to be actually just... among humans. Sort of. At least being among other horsemen, also in human... form? Disguise? Illusion?
Whatever it was. Not that he minded... whatever it was. The boots were odd, and a bit clunky, but the shirt was heavy and baggy even on his large chest, the scarf offering a little bit of extra warmth and an easy tool to press to his mouth and nose if dust kicked up. Not that there was much in the store. Did humans always dress like this? It was very... well. Not bad. Just very different from what he usually preferred. Namely, wearing a lot less than this.
Once everything was confirmed in terms of their duties, he gave a rumbling sigh and eyed the inconspicuous boxes. Snorting, he glanced to Efreet. "How much do you want to bet there's explosives in one of those?" Which, if that was the case, he wondered how wise it was to leave two war-minded people around them.
Sixteen boxes sat before them, lined up haphazardly and a few looking like they might topple over from how they were stacked upon one another. "Alright, pick a box any box, and jump in, I guess."

This job seemed more straight forward than the last one and he appreciated that. This job came with actual instructions instead of giving them a title and being shoved out into the work force. All they had to do was go through some boxes and make sure what was supposed to be in them were in them. Piece of cake.
Bonus points because there was no math!
Well, no difficult math anyway. Efreet could handle counting, easy!
Plus, no cranky humans to yell at him this time either so that was a huge bonus too. And he got to do this with a war buddy, aaaaw yeah!
"Well, don't let me too close to it then," he joked, grinning widely with all of his teeth as he scratched at his nose with an inky finger. "Bet I can get through at least four before you get through two." If they made it a challenge, it'd be more fun right? "Whatdoya say?" He asked, words slurring together with his excitement, orange and green eyes lighting up with curiosity and mischief before he wandered off, ready to do the job.
He played with the clipboard he'd been assigned, carefully edging his way over to a set of the boxes and running his fingers along the taped up edges. Taking a moment to sniff it, to see if it gave any clues, he sucked in a larger breath, bobbed his head, and clapped his hand against the back of the inventory sheets. "Let's do this!" He bellowed, pumping a fist in the air to get him pumped and in the mood.

Nadir's face broke into a grin towards the other War horseman. A challenge? A perfect thing to make the job go faster. He nodded with a laugh, stepping towards his collection of boxes. "You've got a deal."
He looked over the invoices for three of the boxes, gaze narrowed as he focused. Three large tapestries each, from around the year 1400. Interesting things to be shipping around. Curious, and eager to get started on clearing the boxes, he payed open each lid, sifting through the packing materials and fluff to find the goods within.
Each one was met with a groan and a scratching against paper. The invoices said each of the three boxes were to contain three tapestries. Yet each one he opened and checked, counting the tapestries within, only resulted in two tapestries in each box. Each was missing a damn piece!
He grit his teeth, curious who would remove the goods from the boxes and why--simple clerical errors? Theft? Not a good start to the day for their employer, but as he packed the boxes back up and made his notes on the papers, he was at least beginning to make good timing.
"No explosives yet," he called to his co-worker. "But I'm curious if there's a thief somewhere in this supply train."

Efreet was of the opinion that a friendly challenge kept things more interesting and was delighted when Nadir accepted his proposal. "Righteous." Up in the air went his fist in an overly excited fist pump. Clasping his hands together he trotted over to a trio of boxes, carefully opening them with his clipboard tucked under his arm. Once opened, he peered at his list and squinted at the boxes.
The first box only contained two of the three tapestries it was supposed to. The second box was completely soaked and they were damaged, and he hissed irritably, jumping back when something dripped on his foot. Ugh, soggy tapestries and a box still somehow full of water. Gross. The last box was the same as the first and he shook his head, spending a little longer than necessary making sure he marked the correct boxes.
"You missing buncha stuff too?" He shook his head as he returned the pen to the metal part of the clipboard. "These delivery boys sure screwed up." He made a face and pointed at his waterlogged box. "That one's soaked. How they managed, I'll never know."
Shoulders shrugging, Efreet moved on to the next set of boxes delighted to find that they were marked calvery and therefore he had nothing he needed to do except move them off to the side.
