Zyk - Today at 9:27 PM
What had started as a walkl in the rain had somehow turned into something of a...shopping spree. Zyk's arm was weighted down with some of Ever's old layers, still damp, as well as a new shirt and dark jeans of his own. He was quiet, but it was a very easy sort of silence, comfortable, as they rode the elevators up to their floor in the Dusk tower. This, one of the few nice conveniences that this very mordern building held. It was certainly easier ride up, rather than having to treck up who knows how many stairs it might have been.
At their door he'd pause, drawing a card key from an inner pocket to unlock it. It gave a mechanic click, and the alchemist nudged it open. With the oddness of the afternoon, the gaps in their memory, it was quite nice being in the familar sanctuary of their home. A comfortable blend of classic famine hive, and simplistic morden additions.
Ever - Today at 9:45 PM
Somehow Zyk'd ended up carrying almost everything they'd bought -- everything they owned -- while Ever followed in his wake, comfortable and distracted. He was mussed from the rain, his hair curling and wild, worse than usual, but he was also smiling widely.
Inside, he knew every step of their shared space, which meant he could move it with an easy kind of grace that had nothing in common with the caution he showed out and about. Bonelessly, he dropped down into their bed, crumpling as he went to sprawl out in the cushions. "Successful?"
Zyk - Today at 9:56 PM
The bundle of old and new clothing laid out on a table before he was following Ever back through the open floor plan to what constituted as the bedroom. "Pretaining to?" The outing, he would guess, though it was not always the obvious answer with Ever. His mind wandered far and wide at times, and he'd long learned not to assume those scattered thoughts lingered on current happenings.
Now that his hands were unburdened he was free to remove some of the trinkets decorating his tall body. Braclets and necklaces chimed and rattled together as they were lifted away and placed carefully on a low table near the over stuffed, overflowing bedroll. The only gold that remained was what pierced his skin; ears, the sides of his neck, chest.
Only then did he sink down to sit on the bed beside the other stallion, still a bit damp, but not nearly as much as he had been. Less fabric dried much mor quickly.
Ever - Today at 10:00 PM
"Humanity." He answered slowly, with a smile -- his head tipped back and the glasses crooked on his nose as he turned his face toward Zyk. With a shrug and a wiggle he settled deeper into the pillows, feet propped up out of the way and expression relaxed. "Did we master it?"
Zyk - Today at 10:06 PM
Ever was close enough that Zyk could reach out and touch those messy, tangled curls. It made him grimace, faintly, though it was only a flicker of the expression before he was grabbing a carved comb off the table he'd placed all his jewelry on. "Visually. Behaviorally remains to be seen."
Comb in hand, he moved closer. Close ehough that he could move Ever's head so it was resting on his thigh, giving him easy access to that mess of snow hair. It had been a while since he had tamed it. "I do not think the latter will be too difficult."
Ever - Today at 10:11 PM
"Mm, no." He wasn't difficult to manhandle -- didn't fight or tense up, instead going rag doll limp until Zyk had him where he wanted him. Still in the bed, Ever fidgeted and kicked to get his soft boots off, crossed his legs at the ankle, and then went still again. "How different can we really be?"
Zyk - Today at 10:22 PM
He had been maintaining the other stallion's hair for quite a while now, and he was good at working out the tangles without damaging the hair itself. It was almost gentle, though he knew the other wouldn't have minded if it hadn't been. "A lot, I imagine. Cultural, fundemental beliefs, morals," he listed absently, running the comb through the ends of damp hair.
He did pause though, and he touched the tips of his fingers to the side of Ever's face before hooking the dark glasses. "They are in the way, and should probably not be left on while in bed." It would come with a compromise though, a colored, though light weight scarf he would drape across Ever's eyes after removing the frames.
Ever - Today at 10:27 PM
He'd been readyto object, a low sound thrumming in his throat when Zyk reached for the glases, but it dissipated with the first ghoasting touch of cloth to his face. All at once, he breathed out, forcing himself to relax back down and reaching up to toy with the end of his scarf.
After a moment, he dug back for his cheer, for the light-hearted carelessness to drive away any serious thought. "Are glasses rude in the bed? Is that a human thing?"
Zyk - Today at 10:46 PM
The question made him smile, a small, amused twist of his lips. "Not rude, no. They could break, though." He'd focus his grooming around the ears, down along the back of his neck, and would then take the time to tuck the other end of the scarf around to loop into a loose knot in the back so it'd stay mostly in place. "It is my understanding that dark glasses are acceptable at all times when the one wearing them does not depend on their eyes."
The rain had made Ever's hair a bit harder to deal with than was normal. It was taking longer, though if it remained damp, he would have an easier time replacing the thin braids he was so fond of leaing in those pale curls.
Ever - Today at 10:50 PM
"How'd you learn that?"Slowly, he crossed one leg over the other -- loose and casual and careless, comfortably sprawled out in Zyk's bed and now, with his hair soft and pulled back out of his face, looking relaxed. Thus far, they hadn't done much today. Maybe after Zyk had gotten the tending out of his system, they could venture out and explore a bit more. "Who told you?"
Zyk - Today at 11:00 PM
He frowned, hands stilling for a moment. "I cannot recall." The knowledge was there, clear and easy to grasp, but how it got there, he couldn't remember. "One of the ones who study the humans, perhaps. My mind if still hazy." There was another moment of thoughtful silence, of Zyk trying to draw on how he had come to learn that rather specific detail, but specifics were difficult at the moment. Habit, familar routine, connections. Those were much easier.
Ever - Today at 11:02 PM
Ever rumbled in reply, his head cocked to the side and fingers still winding the cloth in around his fingers -- slowly trussing them up as he considered what he knew of humanity. It was spotty, bits and pieces. He remembered dancing more clearly than anything else.
"We should find somewhere with music." He toyed with the idea, hand going still ."Human music. Loud, so it moves through you."
Zyk - Today at 11:25 PM
The last of the tangles freed under the carved teeth of the comb, and Zyk set it aside once again. Now it was his fingers that slid through the softness, nails scrapping lightly over the other stallion's scalp. "Music?" It was said thoughtfully, and his head tipped as he thought it over. "We could, We would just need to find such a place."
Ever - Today at 11:29 PM
"We just walk down a street and stop someone and ask them!" He said it like it was a brilliant idea, eyebrows raised in excitement up at Zeke. He stayed in place, though, which was something of a blessing. It had to be the fingers in his hair, keeping Ever from getting too worked up. "Surely a human would know where to find one."
