Unabashed delight. Camixi was beyond thrilled at the specimen she was working with that day, a pale palomino who was going to be granted the most wonderful genetic modification! Experimentation with insects and other like specimen were obviously the preferred working conditions but, obviously, that was proprietary to the Famine offices. The very idea of a clumsy Warhorse or smug Conquest filly trifling with such precious creatures made the teenager shudder.

She couldn't help but look a bit out of place, either, and it would have been frustrating if it weren't so habitual. It wasn't the human jeans and sweater; everyone was wearing human clothing, it was the fact that she looked to be little more than sixteen human years old. On the recommendation of one of her sisters she had put empty glasses frames on to make her look what humans called a 'prodigy' which, she thought, meant someone who really knew what they were doing!

Mixi had no idea what she was doing, not really, but it couldn't be too terribly different from what she did every day with the Nothing. Right?

Squaring her shoulders the young brunette took a deep breath and exhaled, smiling and pressing a hand to the glass as she looked down at her partner in today's experiments. "You're going to be lovely" she promised. Because failure was not an option here. She couldn't shame her family!

Injection was the easy part. The mare was docile and not inclined to care about the fact that her life was all about being prodded and observed. After that all she could do was wait. Instructions said that after sixty minutes the serum should have had some kind of effect if it was going to have one at all. Rather smug-sounded notes in a corner noted that if you messed up, the specimen would likely die in mere minutes.

As ten minutes passed, then twenty, it was obvious that she had done Something. What that Something was was not entirely clear until the timer went off and a button lit up. The button, specifically, was labeled 'Inspiration' and Camixi frowned at it. Inspiration? For what? For her? For the mare?

Letting out a long sigh her invisible wings rustled for a moment before the button was depressed with a single, firm, press. Almost immediately a series of balls began to fall from the ceiling and, to great shock of the young Famine filly, her palomino bounded and leapt away from every. single. one.

Cami's shout of joy was truly inspired as she almost took a selfie picture before remembering the big letters of NDA that had been signed earlier. But there was one Horsewoman, in all of creation, she knew had to have free reign to the labs and it was her she called.
