[ JOB LISTING ] Bank teller

    [ DIFFICULTY LEVEL ] gaia_star

[ TASK ] Crane would like to see your skills. In order to do that, he requires you to perform a four hour shift as a bank teller in one of the quieter branches of the building.

[ MECHANICS ] Please roll 1d6 to see how well you do at Bank of X this fine day. You may only try this once.

    1. 1 - You do relatively well, but you don't do anything special. Crane seems to think that you may have potential, but he seems disappointed that you didn't take the initiative when you should have. ( fail )

    2. 2 - You do so well that Crane is almost startled by how adept you are, which rarely happens. He gives you a rare grin of satisfaction, as well as a clap on the back that indicates just how well pleased he is with your work. Maybe you have a future calling here at Bank of X... ( pass )

    3. 3 - Your work suffers because you're too nervous to perform correctly, mostly due to the fact that Crane is standing over you, observing silently. He doesn't come straight out and say that you're terrible, but...you're pretty terrible. ( fail )

    4. 4 - There are a few mishaps, including one where you mistake the vice president of the company for a janitor. Whoops...well, maybe he should have dressed better. Still, surprisingly, Crane seems amused by this, rather than put off. Maybe you didn't do so terribly after all... ( pass )

    5. 5 - You are very quick and thorough. Maybe not amazingly talented, but you do good work and Crane seems to think that you could do more with your time if you put your head to it. Needless to say, he's very satisfied with your work. ( pass )

    6. 6 - You mistakenly try and work at the loan counter instead of the regular counters. Crane is deeply disappointed at your complete lack of ability. ( fail )

The death grip of the Famine mare didn't waver when it came to her new captive friend. She'd pulled him all over the Famine tower and beyond, collecting along the way. Somewhere she overheard other horseman talking about the human world and money. Money was useless to collect, but the stuff you could trade it for... that held allure for Me'ah. Hush on the other hand was more like a ragdoll as she yanked to the shining building.

"We're here to do the job!" She pointed accusingly at the bank and grinned down at her little friend. "I saw something about telling at a bank. Not sure what we're telling people but, seems easy enough right?" Me'ah giggled and pulled at her striped shirt awkwardly. It was so ungodly hot and she shifted in her jeans, walking inside slowly. "Come on Hush! We're going to get this money stuff." Me'ah shook her body and fixed up her hair, walking in to a desk. "Um... I-we want to try to be a..." She glanced at a smudge on her hand. "Bank Talker.. er.. Teller." She shot a grin at an extremely tall man with a shifty look. His name tag said Crane and all she could think of was the overly ornate clothes they wore. Quickly she was brought back as the man offered to give them a chance and she grinned, taking Hush's hand over to the teller area.

"Well that guy was kinda weird but we're gonna get those money things!" Me'ah giggled and moved behind her till, staring at the cash drawer, computer and desk, staring awkwardly at it. "Okay... uh..." She noticed it was quieter, but wad immediately disturbed by a woman shoving papers at her. "Deposit this." The woman said in a huffy voice.

"Deposit..." Me'ah stared at the paper and the computer, staring at Hush. "Do you know...?" She said meekly but stopped, staring back to the computer. Deposit is... like putting in a satchel... A glance moved down to her bag and she looked back at the papers. One had a number and amount, and the other was a check. "Oh!" A light clicked in her head. It's a numbered satchel! The money on the paper goes in the specific one. "Okie dokie!" She grinned and clicked the numbers to match, pressing enter and a receipt popped up as she put the sheets in her little drawer. "Hm?" She took the receipt and handed it back. "Thank you!" She called with a wave as the woman left.

While unorthodox in thinking, Me'ah caught on quickly and hummed while she worked. Some people wanted to put money in, some people wanted money out and some people had questions where she'd have to point them over to another person. It was more like a game than work. "Do you like it Hush?" She called to the small Death horseman with a bright smile. "Money moves around like collectibles, but it sure doesn't smell good." Jokingly she made a gag noise.

In no time flat the four hours had passed and she put the closed sign up in her till with a soft smile. Behind her, the tall man congratulated her and she stared back at him blankly. "Thanks...?" There was an inflection really high at the end of her sentence and she turned her attention back to her new friend.

"How did it go for you?"

The diminutive Death horseman was at the Famine mare’s mercy. He was being shown one new thing after another and never really had enough time to process anything he saw. He could recall the places they went, but not the order. His brain was quickly turning into a jigsaw puzzle. Before he could protest, he was led into the world of the Humans. He couldn’t ever recall seeing a live human, but he was positive they were things to be wary of. He looked down at his bright shirt and frowned at it. It contrasted heavily with his hair and skin. It made him stand out more, which he hated.

“I guess it makes sense… You tell the bell the Tank…err… You tell the Bank to give you money. Then they give it you… Right?” Hush was bewildered but he liked the look of the Bank’s interior. The floors and counters were a dark hue that matched his hair and skin. It’d be easy to hide behind one of these counters and surprise a Humander. But I’ll just try to get some currency for now. He slowly squeaked across the floor and stopped below the towering horned man. The very short Famine horseman tried to speak loudly so he would not be ignored. “Crane of the Bank Clan, give me all of the money!” Hush smiled to congratulate himself for speaking so clearly. However he quickly had to reassure the President and CEO that he was not trying to rob the bank, but rather trying to work for money.

To his relief, Hush managed to be accepted for the position. He really wasn’t certain if he was doing the job correctly, but he was working at a rushed pace. He was so short, that the Humans did not see him and thought they were communicating with an automated bank teller. He was completely content not being forced to gaze at the greedy humans’ horrible faces. He worked at a rapid pace, simply because he thought the faster he worked, the faster he could leave. He was panting as he finally finished his shift. His boss noticed his work was a tad sloppy, but was clearly impressed by his swift work speed. Hush blushed a little and took his earnings. He wandered over to Me’ah, shaking and panting. “That was kind of scary. I think I did ok.”
