[ JOB LISTING ] Treatment Center [ DIFFICULTY LEVEL ] gaia_stargaia_star [ TASK ] Aid spa specialists in their innovative treatments by helping handle and feed the wholly organic swarms of healthful helpers provided by nature in all its mystery. (Warning : Insect & Worm Prompts)
Quote:
The human staff has gone tragically missing, but all new ventures are bound for a few hiccups. The treatment keepers have taken to pulling in any idle horsemen found at the spa or even in the Dusk to come spend a shift helping feed and care for the spa's special swarms of cultivated insects and unusual plant life.
Roll 2d6 and complete the 2 prompts You're set to supervise a tank full of leeches. It's an incredibly boring job until the leeches begin to grow. And grow. And grow until they're the size of a fat man's leg. The tank breaks. They're surprisingly fast and wily for leeches and it's up to you to catch and corral them all. Roll 1d10 until you succeed by getting a 6 or higher. The Moth Room needs cleaning and it's not a very glorious or interesting job until you start to hallucinate and the walls begin to melt. The Music Room allows you to enjoy a peaceful shift feeding its inhabitants as they are trained in their next composition. The tapeworms need to be taken for discreet walkies. This process involves placing leashes and collars on tapeworms and then walking them around, whispering encouragements to help motivate them to be their best wormselves. Roll 1d10 until you succeed three times by getting a 3 or higher. The Nagev Garden is full of helpful plants that wont just melt away fat but also clean the bones underneath as well with an enthusiastic efficiency! Feeding them is a pleasure if you life watching meat get torn apart and some of the plants will even let you pet them after. Roll 1d4 to determine how many fingers you lose during this shift. (Don't worry, they'll grow back by tomorrow.) The maggot farm has gone missing and the spa needs your help in finding out where it's gone off to. Was it stolen? Did their Fear Makeup get altered in an experiment, transforming them into something new? Did something eat the whole thing? You don't have to roll for success, you just have to tell a story to the shift supervisor.

Thias easily volunteered himself into helping out with the spa specialist in taking care of their rather interesting swarm of insects. Really, he was sort of curious how some of them had managed to come up with a few of them starting with the leeches. They were not one of his particular favorite species of insect, mostly because they lacked wings and were rather a dull brown colour that look more like mud then having some sort of iridescent hue that he seemed to love. Which of course when they first assigned him into watching them he had wrinkled his nose in protest and solemn went about his business as they had requested.
It wasn’t until they had started to grow, shattering the tank and completely making an escape that he was curious what sort of hybrid were they.

They were rather big, in terms of girth which for the delicate famine horseman made it rather difficult for Thias to be able to lift them let alone fight them when they tried to wiggle out of his grasp. The first one he had managed to even pick up simply slipped out of his skeleton arms and wiggled away as he gave a look of disdain.

He managed to get a few of them into a corner together but quite a few of them still wiggled around on the ground as they managed to slip away from him. Thias was beginning to maybe think that this job wasn’t something he should have taken.

It had taken quite some time before Thias managed to finally wrangle all of the leeches into a new pen for them to stay. Really he wished to take one back, maybe study it but there was no way he could carry one for a few feet before the slimy thing would wiggle out his hand and snake away from him.
Nevertheless the job was done and it was on to the next job.

Tapeworms, again another insect that he didn’t absolutely adore considering it was just another worm that seemed to find its only mode of transportation by wiggling across the ground or through some sort of organ. Yet, the size of these tapeworms made him rather doubtful that they could really exist in the organ of any human being rather too large to not be noticed by someone. It also was considerably a terrible idea of having something whose arms resembled skeletons to walk anything that could pull him along with ease.
Still Thias put on their collars, took their leashes and headed out into the darkness doing his best to stick to the shadows, away from any questionable eyes who when approach would realize that whatever pet they were hoping to pet wasn’t exactly what they were expecting.

He thought he would dislike it, but Thias found himself rather enjoying getting out and having the wiggling things seem rather interested in the world as they made their way around the block. He even started to coo at them, telling them how wonderful they were and how they were so well behaved in not pulling his arm out of the socket. They seemed to be at least a little amused with him chatting, it was almost must enough Thias thought about singing.

One more time around and sadly Thias had to take the rather cute like buggers back to their home and say a rather fair farewell to them. He pet them each on the head, giving a few more words of encouragement about how they should be on their best behavior before returning back to find a few other jobs to take on.
