[ TASK ] As one of the engineers it is your job to help apply the work of the metalworkers into new technology and develop products to better observer humanity and reap their data. This is where the hardware side of development goes on, though some software is tested at this level.
[ MECHANICS ] Roll 1d6 twice, each roll is half the day. You must obtain two successes to pass the day and collect your prize - You set up a complex motherboard array, newly developed peripheral, hardware or something else in development and yet when it is plugged in, for no discernible reason you can figure out it shorts out and goes on fire. FAIL - You come up with a more efficient way of drawing heat away from hot machinery in a flat plane, if you have already rolled this, you simply develop this further. SUCCESS - Somehow you accidentally stumble upon a means of pulling data from a data line without being easily detectible SUCCESS - You help to develop the ability to make everything smaller, phones, cables and spying devices. SUCCESS - You spend all of your shift trying to figure out the problems with a complex circuit and even with the help of your supervisors, no process is made at all. FAIL - You work hard all day and get your break extended by Tyr who is very pleased with the whole department's hard work. SUCCESS
[ UPON COMPLETION ] +1 Raffle Ticket (you can only claim a MAX of 3 per player this way!) +5 Currency +1 Arcana Bonus gaia_crown+1 RARE UNIQUE CLOTHING PIECE RELATED TO THIS JOB (LINK COMPLETED THREAD HERE)

Rayu was totally interested into working with tools and doing things with his hands. This wasn't exactly what he had in mind. Not at all.
But they were a little like solving puzzles. Or maybe building courses on a smaller scale. He would try it. "Ok." Though looking at the mess of parts left him wondering just where to begin.
"So any ideas on where to start?" he leaned over and questioned the woman nearby. There was no telling what kind of horseman she was while in human mode.

I'll roll one next post and then another one the post after.
Rayu- journal Clan: War - Warrior Arcana: The Magician (Group A) Description: Rayu is about 6'1" with black hair and wings with a green tint. He looks like a he that just waltzed out of the jungle and is wearing war paint and no shirt when not in human mode. (which is whenever possible) His alt form is a big black Panther and his humanoid mode sometimes matches.
Elaia couldn't say she was interested in most of this, about the only thing she liked doing with her hands was hitting things. So she had no idea how she had ended up here aside from thinking that the Pale Horse would be a neat place to work because of the logo and because of theme parks. And those sounded really fun.
"Nope!" The small looking woman answered honestly and earnestly, allowing the 'p' to pop against her lips. Her blue eyes shifted at all the hardware in front of her, her little fingers unsure of they were eager or anxious at getting started; her head also hurt, mostly because her hair was pulled back really tightly. "I guess we just do the thing!"

Rayu grinned. He liked that attitude. "Sounds like a plan!" he hummed to himself as he put together the parts. Prat of him was restless. He wanted to get up and run around, not... do whatever this was. After a bit he settled down into concentration.
This looked like it went there and that went there. This board connected like this to that wire. And that wire totally wouldn't be a problem right? What did ti matter if it was bumping the battery? It was just one wire.
"Alright! It should be good to go." he announced after some time. He plugged it in to charge and it just... set itself on fire with a loud pop making him launch out of his seat and pick up the chair to defend himself with. "What was that?"
At least her working neighbor was enthusiastic, a nice change of pace from the usual aesthetic of those from Death; always so stoic and into their work. Not that she wasn't, Elaia enjoyed everything about being a Guardian (and probably would more... if.. she had a Priestess).
Staying in his company would probably make this whole confusing process much more fun - the things they could do! - but the small female suddenly found herself ushered away to a different work bench. A small little whimper came from her as she looked at her ex-neighbor with sad puppy eyes before she settled in the new area. (She didn't even get to find out his name! Or his clan!)
Apparently her small stature had been noticed, those tiny little hands of hers were apparently seen to be useful despite having never worked with this sort of technology before; besides her phone. Elaia spent half of her day working on making things tiny and for the most part it didn't actually seem so terrible; it was a little fun even though no one was talking. The only sound was of working, little clips here and the sound of soldering there.
Until a bang echoed and her head picked up at the sound, much as everyone else's did. Elaia's eyes went wide when she saw the fire - that wasn't good - and Rayu out of his chair. "Oh no! Fun ex-work neighbor friend are you okay?!" Apparently the only one concerned, besides someone bringing over a fire extinguisher.

"Yeah I'm good! It didn't get me." It occurred to him that he didn't know the girl's name but exneighbor friend sounded like a substitute.
Someone brought over a fire extinguisher. Apparently this wasn't the first time this had happened here. ??? Well that just made this job a lot more interesting. He grinned to himself. "It just tired to fight me is all. Don't worry we will kill it and then I'll build a better one." He glanced over. "How is your project going over there?" He nodded at the response and then settled down to clearing the dead fragments and salvaging whatever looked good still.
Rayu figure that in light of his last failure he would work on something slightly different. He set about to come up with a more efficient way of drawing heat away from hot machinery in a flat plane. It worked a little better. At least it didn't set itself on fire.
At first she couldn't find herself looking away, leaning a bit every which way to really see if her new found friend was really alright. He seemed to be taking the incident in stride, making some comments along the way that didn't sound exactly appropriate for the situation. It really only made her grin. Oh, she did enjoy him; he was going to be a keeper once she found out his name.
The little reprieve didn't last long until she was haggled back into working. Her little miniaturizing project seemed to shift into another focus - one she didn't understand but hey, she was going to do as she was told.
The hours continued tinkering away at all the confusing things with all the wires and the little tools and little motherboards or whatever. After a few more rounds of tiny things, Elaia found herself getting bored as usual and began to go off program. The little devices were soon being made into what she thought of as an abstract art piece. It looked really pretty to her but it didn't take long to be found out.
At first there was a little bit of scolding until someone else looked at the arrangement and snatched it off her workstation. Elaia wanted to protest until praise suddenly came her way. Apparently, she had done some good - coupled with something Rayu had worked on - and... figured out something about heat and planes? (Which was good in her books since she didn't even really like heated things). It was sad to see her fun thing be taken away but well, if they thought she did something useful then why not?

Rayu glanced over at his new friend after his work was taken away to be examined. she looked like the had arranged something interesting. It was more aesthetically pleasing than functional perhaps, but the bosses seemed to like it.
"So you done? Well, the day is over, let's bail on this place and go do something fun." he didn't think they would get any more done today and his brain was feeling a little mushy after all of that staring.
Yes, definitely liked him and her eyes lit up at the best possible word he could suggest for the rest of their day. The magic word, the kind of word she didn't get to hear too often except in a not actually fun way. Especially after what kind of mundane humdrum sort of day this had already been.
"Ye~s, that got so boring! I'm totally up for fun," there was mischief in the smile that turned up. Elaia already had her hand in his so she could lead him away from the floor they had been working on, out of the building and into the ending of the human day. Even if he had a place in mind, she had gotten to it first and was taking the initiative of what they were going to do now.
