It would appear, upon first glance, as nothing out of the ordinary. Just a stone, albeit a shining one, the colors an iridescent blend of blue and green, ever changing as it caught the light. No larger than a pebble, it rested beside the crystal clear water of the Famine oasis. A bright blight upon the so pale sand that surrounded it. nessihime Lol, it's short as ********, but it'll work for a start

Unafraid of water or the sand that clung to her skin when she was wet it was not unusual to find the teenager Camixi swimming in the oasis naked as the day she was born. Modesty was a human thing, after all, or at least it wasn't a Famine thing and so she did not often bother with it. Pulling on her clothing again, refreshed from her swim, she looked down at the beetle as her hair dripped. "You are interesting. What are you...?" Bending down she touched a fingertip to the creature, lightly.

Moved, feet sliding on the sand, to back away from the intrusive finger. But it didn't run. It's movements were slow, unafraid, or at the very least lacked the sort of fear that come along with a natural urge to survive. Which, to be fair, it honestly lacked. It wasn't of nature, and therefor held little of the same instincts as it's natural born brethren. Clicking vaguely, it made it's slow, unhurried away across the sand, from the oasis itself, and towards the shaded paradise not far from it. There were a few figures lingering there, relaxing, though the beetle seemed to be aiming towards one in particular.

It didn't seem strange at all for Camixi to be crawling on all fours across the warm sand, keeping pace with the beetle. She didn't even really notice the others beneath the shade that they were moving toward until she almost put her hand down on someone's leg. "Oh! Sorry about that!" The beetle, of course, had disappeared and she frowned. "Have any of you seen a bright beetle? Kinda gem-like?"

The leg in question belonged to a dark skinned alchemist. He was grinning down at Cami, obviously amused, and when she asked about the beetle he'd lift a hand to show her shining insect crawling across his skin. "You mean this one?" A shift of his arm, showing her another. "Or this one?" This one crawling down along his elbow. A closer inspection would show a few more peppered here and their, crawling among the layers of his skirts or across his skin. Lowering his hand, the one she'd been following left his palm to head across the sand, back towards the young mare. "It likes you, I think."

Sitting back on her heels Camixi couldn't help but beam at the idea of more than one of the pretty critters. "Yes!" When the one she had been following (or at least she thought it was that one) was directed back towards her the sage-in-training cupped her hand so that the beetle could settle on the skin of her palm. "Hello, sweet thing." She crooned at it, tilting her head at Zyk. "Hi, I'm Camixi. Does this one have a name?" She held up her cupped hand to indicate the beetle. It was obvious to her that whomever this other horseman was he would introduce himself in return to her own. But that didn't give the insect a name and that was what she wanted.

His smile grew with amusement as the filly crooned at the beetle, though he'd shake his head at her question. "It does not. None of them do." There was no reason to name them, for for Zyk. They were many, there would be many more. However, this girl, Camixi, seemed to have grown attached to one of them. To her it was not just one of hundreds. It was unique. "Would you like to name it?"
