Amethyst took a long breath when she realized that she was finally done with the last of the papers she would need for graduation. It had been a rather long road but she was glad to say that she finally finished her schooling, the papers had been piling up and it was always good to know that they were finally done. She wasn't sure how much longer she could stay up this late since her eyes were trying to tell her it was time for bed. So she switched the light off and laid down in her bed, thinking to herself.
Two weeks ago, she would have done her best to find the right hospital to work at, but things were a little different now. She had been approached by the Nursing teacher who had taught her class. Apparently, they were looking for someone to take over the position since the teacher was moving far away, and since Amethyst had more or less become a Teaching Assitant there, the teacher told her that they were going to put in a recommendation for her to take the position if she could get her work done on time.
Up until now, Amethyst had put in as much effort as she could to get everything done in a timely manner and now that graduation was only a week away, she was very surprised at how much she had done in such a short period. She figured she might still pick up a job as a Nurse since that had been her dream. However, she had never known how much she enjoyed teaching until she had that class. She had had a lot of fun with all the people there and she hoped that she could continue that once she became a teacher. If the Board approved that, of course.
She knew that the job was temporary, but she would definitely give it her best. If those students could get as much out of the lessons as she did from her teacher than she'd be more than happy. She wanted nothing more than to build a place where people could learn to their heart's content, just like she had.
She turned the page over in her hand, staring at the writing as she let out another breath. She knew she was anxious, but it was the good kind, it was a trepidation of things to come, of things that were to change. Setting the paper down, she lifted a pen, signing her name to it. Even though this is what she wanted, she knew she had to have a talk with her partner and her children to make sure they were okay with her taking this position. She couldn't imagine Falan not being okay with her decision, but it was a risk since she was likely to make less money than she would if she went into Nursing full time. It was a big decision that she knew she couldn't take lightly, it was possible to change their entire lives and she didn't want the children to suffer for it.
