Jannisari had gotten pulled into some sort of deep conversation about molecular bonding agents, or something - effectively leaving Aadhira alone. She'd told him he wasn't required to come to this charity event, but that it might be fun. Plus, she'd noticed his love of nice clothing and really, he hadn't been able to down a new (shortened) sherwani. He smoothed his palms down the embroidered front of it and floated around aimlessly, shooting dazzlingly polite smiles to whomever looked his way. Waiters ambled around with champagne and small h'or d'ouvres, but that wasn't anything he'd wanted to eat. Aadhira looked up at one of the smaller light sconces along the wall, some sort of art noveau thing complete with swirls. It suited the ballroom and stage - all green and gold and he supposed he should be thankful there wasn't to be any dancing at this event. Dr. Jannisari had told him some did require it, and Aadi did not dance. There was still some time until the main speaker took the stage and everyone would be seated for a dinner. Casually, he reached up to touch the light. It dimmed a bit, and would remain dim for some time. For now, it was a nice snack.

This was not the first time Josh had been invited to a charity gala since he had become a reporter for The Gaia Tribune. Though LuLu's guardian was not the fondest of formal balls, one or two inevitably popped up during the year. The raevan often heard him murmuring things about feeling 'stuffy' during such events when the normally casually dressed man was forced into a suit and tie. The sigel did not really share this sentiment though. LuLu was excited to have an opportunity to show off the newest addition to her closet. She was practically dancing around the venue in her search for compliments. The train of her pink dress was fluttering behind her. Her blonde waves were tamed into an updo with a few strands undone to frame her face. The sigel had used her powers to shift her golden markings into a pink smokey eye. Meanwhile, her red tattoo had been transformed into bands of pale yellow that draped over her shoulders and arms like another accessory. She could spot Josh out in the crowd. Sure enough, his tie had already been loosened and he was engaging a couple in a conversation. Judging by the look on his face he was already getting to work. Before they had split up, Josh had given LuLu his usual sly grin and told her to 'have fun for him'. Well, she would have no difficulty in doing that. LuLu had claimed a glass of champagne for herself and nursed at it sparingly. The drink was more for the experience than any flavor it provided. Though it was horrendously bitter, the bubbles tickled her nose when she took a sip. Additionally, the sigel could not help but feel wonderfully ostentatious in this crowd with a wine flute poised in her hand.

Aadhira crowd watched. It was always best to gauge a crowd thoroughly before ever even thinking of approaching someone. And he knew he'd have to eventually approach some person. Of course, some attendees wound his way, seeking him out for the novelty of what he was. It was easy enough to direct those towards Jannisari, to mention her research, or to mention Dr. Kyou. They were all interested less in the product and more in the science behind it. Aadi could care less. But, as he surveyed the crowd, he caught glimpses of someone like him. She was clearly a raevan, and not one he'd seen before - he thought. Perhaps in passing. Still, he found his near-glowing eyes fixed on her. Then, another doctor of some sort stepped in front of him, demanded an introduction.

LuLu continued to meander around the venue. Her ears picked up on a few lingering ah's from the guests as she passed by. The novelty of her own anatomy had worn off long ago for the raevan. She simply waved the gawkers away with a smile and accepted the few oo's she got for her outfit with gratitude. It did not take the rabbit long to spot another being like herself. If the glowing rune had not given it away, the small crowd forming around him did. She slowly approached him, hesitant to interrupt his current conversation. When the human finally stepped away to free the boy from an onslaught of questions, LuLu swooped in. She took a small sip for her glass before she gathered a handful of her dress and curtsied. "Hello."

Aadhira looked up (he'd been contemplating the silver bangles in his hair and rewaeving the plait) with an automatic smile that showed off very even, very white teeth. Then he blinked, luminous eyes widening for a second. "Hello. I'm Aadhira, Dr. Jannisari's ward." Ward... ward was a safe word, without familial connotation. "I'd hoped to get a moment to meet you, but I see you've beaten me to it."

The sigel returned the welcoming smile with one of her own. "Aadhira." She tested out the name on her lips. "Pleasure to meet you. My name is LuLu."She continued, "It is difficult to miss someone like yourself. Enjoying the party?"

"Lulu - very musical. It suits you." She was a pretty raevan, in a striking way, and Aadhira could appreciate that. He always had preferred to be surrounded by beautiful things, though he might not term her so grandly as beautiful. But wisely, Aadi always kept such thoughts to himself. "Likewise - you're impossible to ignore. The party is... well, it's the first time I've been to something like this really. Are you used to it?"

The sigel nodded at Aadi's comment. She had never really thought of another name for herself. LuLu had always seemed to fit and she enjoyed the way it easily rolled off her tongue. "I have been to a few formal parties. My guardian Josh sometimes invites me." The rabbit pointed out the boy in the crowd. He had already moved onto a new couple to... politely interrogate. "The events can be so over the top. I love it." She reached out to stroke a velvet curtain hanging lavishly over one of the windows. She was briefly mesmerized by its rich red color. LuLu looked back up the the frei. "It is almost like playing Cinderella for the night."

Aadhira directed his gaze briefly to her guardian before returning to watch her. Her guardian was there, and not here, and therefore not of as more important as Lulu. "Doesn't that mean you should find a prince, Lulu? And maybe ditch him at midnight?"

The rabbit smiled softly and shrugged, "Princes are overrated." Her smile then grew wider as she spotted through the window a horse drawn carriage. Of course, as a means to raise funds, the event was hosting scenic buggy rides around the large estate. LuLu could not pass up on the opportunity. There was still a slight chill in their air that was just enough to warrant the cozy blankets bundled up on the carriage seats. It would be perfect! She inquired, "Do you want to join me outside?"

"Then you aren't meeting the right kind of princes... or princesses," he said. The notion that someone behaving in a royal, perfect manner was overrated... it was unfathomable to him. Aadhira followed her gaze to the horse and buggies. After a moment, he shrugged, the motion causing the jewelry in his hair to jingle softly. "How could I refuse? I've never been on one of those before, have you?" Aadhira offered his arm to Lulu as they went, although he half-expected her to refuse it.

LuLu hummed, "Maybe not. So far, the princes I find are pretty unreliable." The faint noise coming from the peacock's decorated tresses caught her attention. The sigel then noticed he had offered an arm. She took it politely. "It has been a long time. I remember it being fun."Lu's excitement got the better of her as she took off towards the buggies. She had a hop in her flight and moved just a bit too quickly for a leisurely stroll. By the time they had arrived, her arm had slipped away from Aadhira's. Only their hands were connected now, hers just barely clinging to his.

He found, oddly enough, that despite Lulu's instance on being a ball of energy, he clung tenaciously to her fingers. "I'd think, if anything, a prince would be constant." Aadhira smiled faintly, looking at the buggies. He held out his hand to the horse who snuffled it appreciatively, then looked ridiculously disappointed Aadi had no food. "Aw, he's mad at me," he said. The driver snorted, gesturing to the seats behind him. "Shall we?"

LuLu nodded to the driver, "Yes." She took the man's hand as he guided her into the carriage. She looked back for Aadhira to follow her. Once they were both in, she grabbed one of the blankets from atop a seat and curled up in it. The rabbit eased back into the cushion and waited for the ride to start. She wondered idly where the driver would take them first.

Aadi slid into the seat beside Lulu. Then. he floated up towards the driver. Resting one hand on the man's shoulder, he leaned forward and whispered a few requests in the man's ear. The driver flicked a glance back at Lulu, smiled, and nodded. The raevan floated back to Lulu. "He said he could take us on the best route - and he wants to know if you'd like historical trvia as we go." Aadhira eschewed the blankets, finding he adjusted to temperatures easily and was comfortable in almost any weather. (Screw snow, though.) With a click of the driver's tongue, they were off, wheeling around to the back of the building.
