The popcorn had been eaten, and for an hour, Esfir had sat on the couch, curled into her sister’s side and completely riveted by the TV. After the bomb had ended, she’d been put in bed and tucked in. But as she lay in her bed, burrito’d in her blanket, Esfir found she couldn’t sleep. Her mind was full to the brim with the latest Steven Universe revelations and while she didn’t understand some of what she’d seen, she knew that the situation within the show had changed. Making a tiny annoyed sound as she scootched and shifted in bed, Esfir realized that the show had managed to scare her. Not so much that she’d stop watching, but certainly enough to give her unhappy dreams. Poor Blue Diamond. Even if she wasn’t a good guy, she’d clearly loved Pink. And to find out that what she’d believed for so long might be wrong. Esfir hoped that Blue Zircon had been right about Rose not shattering Pink. But if not Rose, then who? Esfir wanted to know now.

But the mystery of Pink’s shattering had quickly dropped a few notches when confronted by the off colors. Esfir felt her mouth pull back in a smile. Padparadscha had been so cute! And the others had been wonderful too. Esfir had especially liked that Rhodonite and Fluorite had been permanent fusions. She hoped that the show would allow Garnet to meet them both. Unfortunately, thinking about the new Gems had re-opened the way for the memory of the gem-shattering robonoids to come back. Shivering, Esfir tightened the blanket around her body. She’d been so afraid that one of the new gems would be shown getting shattered. She knew that shattering was sort of like a human dying. She hadn’t wanted to see anyone die! Except… except.

Esfir couldn’t help it. She began to cry softly and hug her pillow close. Lars had died. Lars had been a hero and he’d died. Of course, Steven’s tears had brought him back, but he had really, really died. It was scary. And Lars being brought back and turned pink… Esfir shivered again. Lars was like Lion. Which meant that Lion had died and Rose had somehow brought him back too. And Steven had known when he’d looked at Lion. Now weeping softly, Esfir allowed herself to really feel the fear and sadness that rolled through her. Though there was happiness in the tears too. Lars had been so brave! And Steven had escaped Homeworld! These were good things. Unfortunately, they were also cliffhanger things. And Esfir’s desire to have Pink’s shattering solved was nothing compared to how hard she was hoping that Lars and the Off-Colors would be able to escape Homeworld and be happy on Earth. She wanted Lars to have a happy ending and kiss Sadie and not be scared anymore. It was too bad that the bomb hadn’t gone on longer. She hated having to wait to learn more.

Even as she slowly relaxed and got over the fright she’d gotten, Esfir felt her eyelids getting heavy and fell asleep wondering and dreaming about what new things the next bomb might reveal.
