Tria's fingers were skipping across her phone, quickly sending out a notification to a group chat. A small carbuncle phone charm jiggles each time she punches a button particularly hard. She doesn't even pause her typing while she settles into one of the comfy chairs arranged in small clusters scattered around the coffeehouse.

Bunnies4eva: I just arrived. Where are you guys? Bunnies4eva: Please tell me I'm at the right Galaxybucks.... Bunnies4eva: We gotta hammer out our plans before part time jobs open tomorrow!
A waitress in an (adorable) star emblazoned apron bustles up, a cup of chai tea on a tray. "Thanks," Tria almost offhandedly offers her, looking up briefly before she lets the phone clatter to the table's surface, scooting the tray closer to take a sip. Ahh, well. If this wasn't the right store, at least she has a good cup of tea in the meanwhile.

A clatter on the table in front of Tria, and a young girl with messily braided hair flung herself dramatically into the chair across from her.
"You're still drinking that.." Reine wrinkled her nose -" leaf stuff?" Pushing her notebook to the side, she leafed through the pages until she reached one with a skull post-it - a page covered in tiny, precise handwriting, and some slightly alarming diagrams.
"I've been here for like, an hour," she continued, her eyes flicking up to glance at Tria as she took a sip of black coffee (with five sugars). "Don't like being late. You think they're gonna get here on time? There's like, three minutes."
Reine's fingers drummed on the table as she looked around the cafe for any sign of their other teammates.
"Two minutes." The clicking of her nails on the table grew a little more frantic. "Maybe I should get another coffee. This one's getting cold."

"I'll have you know, my "leaf stuff" has been around for centuries longer than your bean water," Tria laughed. "If they were to compete, I think a millennia of Chinese tea-drinkers will crush your small bean uprising." It was a familiar discussion. They'd argued both of their sides enough times that the responses felt routine, and Tria was all but compelled to begin it all over again. She picked up her phone and quickly tapped out another reply:
Team AMAZING Group Chat
Bunnies4eva: Reine wins first place Bunnies4eva: BUT WHO SHALL COME IN THIRD??? Bunnies4eva: Whoever gets here last has to buy the next round of drinks for the team!
"There!" she declared. "One of the others will get you your next drink, hopefully when they show up in another two minutes." Tria flashed a toothy grin at her friend, hoping to at least distract Reine from the time with the promise of fresh drinks.
Enough of that though. "Whatcha got there?" Tria leaned forward, half wishing the other girl was close enough for her to read over her shoulder. "T-that's a lot of notes, you sure come prepared, eh? What have you been considering?" She craned her neck, attempting to read the notebook upside down, while her hands reached into her own bag and pulled out a loose fist of papers.
Without even looking at the crumbled bits of paper, Tria started smoothing them out, one at a time. There's maybe a spreadsheet on one, though it's covered in some scratchy doodles of amulets. Or are they birds? There's a list of names on another. The next sheet she smoothed out is covered with instructions for some sort of asian soup recipe, goodness knows why it's in this pile in the first place. Tria wrinkles her nose and shoves it back into her bag, where it crumples with a satisfying cruuuuguughhhhhh sound.

Sam: Yeah Loki's not coming. Sam: I'll pick up their drinks Sam:To clarify, I'll pick up her drinks with her money.
A very serious looking Death guardian with an unusual circle tattoo burned on his neck showed up. There was something very unexceptional about his appearance, like someone who could easily blend into a crowd and be forgotten. It wasn't until he casually approached the group that it was apparent that yes, he was indeed talking to the two early birds.
"So Loki's dirt poor," he said in a simultaneously casual and serious tone, dumping a handful of currency, what looked like some ticket to somewhere, and a single playing card onto the table, "But I saw this lying around. I'm sure you can barter it for something." He pulled out a really expensive looking gold stopwatch and dangled it a bit from its ridiculously long chain. The watch itself wasn't even working properly.

"Whatever. We've bean through this like a million times." Reine shrugged, emphasis on bean. "Coffee's just like.. way better that tea could ever be," she muttered, and downed the rest of her drink, as if to make a point.
Message notifications flashed across her screen as Tria typed furiously away, and Reine swatted them away, annoyed by the constant buzzing.
"I'm like, riiiight heeeere," she drawled, rolling her eyes. "Use your talking words, Tria." Ok, fine, so it was a group chat, but like, two could play at this game.

Satisfied, she put the phone down on the table with a smirk, only to hear it buzz again. Goddamnit, Sam. A marvel of modern technology; the ability to be disturbed anywhere, at any time.
"It's just plans I wrote down. Research." The tone of her voice suggested she wasn't planning on elaborating, but as Tria pulled some of her own papers out, a thoughtful look crossed her face, and she opened her mouth to speak --
-- but the thought was immediately interrupted by Sam showing up, and her mouth snapped shut as he deposited shiny things on the table. Bribery was totally an acceptable apology for being late.
"I'll take that," Reine cut in, snatching the stopwatch from Sam. "And another long black. Five sugars. So where'd you get this?"

"From my pocket," Loki responded in a huff from right behind Reine. "While I was unconscious. And my phone. And - hey, did you get into my deck of minipet cards too!?"
But instead of looking angry, she just winked at the guardian. "Ohhh, I get it."
"Sam, you don't need to play this game with me. If you need another keepsake to remember me by, you can always just ask."
And with that, Loki circled the table and sat down next to Reine. She patted the seat empty chair beside her, as if expecting Sam to sit there on principle. After all, he was her guardian. This week, anyway. She turned to her fellow priestess. "Watch out, Reine, I think he's assigned to you next."
"... But he's not wrong, I am completely broke." Before anyone could react, Loki grabbed Tria's cup of chai tea and drained half of it in a single swig. She set it down again daintily on its saucer again with a clink. "Thanks, Tria. So - what did I miss?"

"You snooze, you lose, Loki," Reine replied off-handedly, still inspecting the watch.
"And I don't wanna know about your ... uuuugh. Whatever you call that. Just like, keep your pants on, we have actual work to do okay." The two of them were always flirting, and it was kind of weird, who even liked boys??
Oh right, Sam was a boy. Whatever.
"I don't think so," she mumbled, pocketing the watch and turning her attention back to her notebook. "Anyway, back to focusing on the actual thing we're supposed to be doing -" she shot the two lovebirds a look - "we were just talking about jobs and. Stuff."
