Marines

The marine units traditionally operate in MEU's, broken down from primary Marine or Airborne units. While all units in the Marines are Marine units, the Airborne Marines are specifically designated as such by their extra auxiliary status, and generally revered status as superior combat troops. While not all of the best troops are Airborne, it is typically composed of the elite of the marines, and serves as a precursor and foundation to all Special Forces units. The ODST and Rangers despite their special forces status serve in a more conventional military role, fighting on the front line and serving as a operational spearhead to clear the way for other infantry and armored vehicles. They are known for clearing naval and beach obstacles, anti-aircraft installations, landmines and other barriers that might prevent a more speedy incursion by a primary force. They are experts in unconventional insertion (via Sea, Land or Air), stealth tactics to avoid detection in order to clear the path for a much larger force, and direct aggressive action. They also specialize in CQB tactics, and their tactics to be to engage and advance upon any enemy so they can close in range with them where they excel. Due to their superior skill, strength and endurance, they can make surprisingly fast gains on enemy targets with incredible efficiency, sophistication and organization, and often begin any major military strike by Manoka. Following this are the marines and Airborne, who are inserted via Sea and Air respectively, and usually in tandem to allow for better distribution of troops. While most marines are heavy Mechanized troops that follow with logistics, armored vehicles, artillery and naval bombardment, paratroopers play a somewhat more unconventional role and are often cut off from logistics and must make do with being surrounded or having little resources, making them light resources. After logistics are established, paratroopers then reconnect with larger military forces and become conventional troops again, known for their incredible bravery and uncanny skill in combat. From this, mechanized forces roll in to provide artillery, anti-air, or anti-tank support, in addition to heavy anti-infantry (such as from tanks or infantry fighting vehicles). Infantry serve as the backbone of all Manokan operations, and other forces fill in to support them as needed.

While not technically a part of the Manokan Marines, the Civil Defense Forces tend to serve under Marine command and work in conjunction with them on both civil and sometimes foreign operations. They are known by many as the "National Police" or "Civil Protection" forces, essentially serve as police. Commonly refereed to as "NP's", "CP's", or Federalies, they essentially serve as professional police forces and augment local police, a trend that helps save on the budget, provide real world training for the military, increase their relationship with the local people, and provide much needed assistance to local police forces. Formulating approximately 50% of the police in the area, they serve as heavily armed guards who support or replace local police in many areas. This direct connection to the military streamlines support, training and logistics, and allows for the rapid response of high powered military vehicles and soldiers any time it is needed. In this way Manoka is always prepared for a military threat, a necessity which has developed over time due to the presence of armed militant groups and numerous terrorists in the region. It also makes the police and military more streamlined and integrated, reducing the lag time before deployment and increasing personnel size when the military is in peacetime.
