Quote:
Eunkyung had recently gotten her hair redone, she had to get it done twice a year, and it had reminded him that his own was due to get done..well that and looking in the mirror this morning. While using the usual skin care products, after shaving what little growth he got, he had taken note that some of the new short hair growth he had was a bit...well not as straight as it should be. He was also growing his hair out and was getting tired of the black with red streaks that he had going on. It looked a bit odd now since he was growing out the other side of his hair too.

That was what led to him going down to have breakfast and mentioning booking a hair appointment for himself, which he’d done before leaving his and Terry’s bed room.

He figured it was, at this point, good to let his family know his plans for the day and he had an early appointment - like he was going right after breakfast. The place was in Korea town and dealt with asian hair, since his own wasn’t the same as caucasian hair...and not just due to color and how pin straight it was. Though his wasn’t so pin straight by nature.

Quote:
While Matt and Nathan had just given nods in understanding when Seung revealed his plans for the day, Julie had given him a smile and told him to have fun, Terry couldn’t help but be curious. Curious to see if Seung would do anything different with his hair that is since his fiance had been growing his hair out a bit lately. So he of course offered to come with Seung since he didn’t have anything planned for the day and even if it turned out seeing what Seung got done wasn’t particularly exciting, it would still be time spent together and they could always do something afterwards anyway.

Quote:
Smiling when Terry decided to join him, it was nice spending time together doing normal things, he did take the time to ask if anyone needed anything while they were out. Since they’d be out they could make a stop off at a store before coming home, or doing anything else. It was something he’d always sort of done, especially back home, so it sort of slowly trickled into a habit here as well and was, at this point, a normal thing for him to offer.

Once breakfast was over he was getting up to put his dishes into the sink before going to get what he’d need to go out, a small messenger bag where he kept a wallet and his epi pens...and just to fill it out a bit he kept a few other things in it. Since it was still a bit cool out, and prone to raining, he had an extendable umbrella and a hoodie in his messanger bag. After some thought a second extendable umbrella went into the bag for Terry just incase.

Quote:
While seung was getting ready to go by making sure to have everything in his bag ready, Terry made sure that Ace and Yeong had more food and water then finished getting dressed since he had just been wearing sleep close to breakfast. He had figured he would get dressed afterwards depending on what was on the agenda today after all. “Ready to go then?” He asked with a smile after he saw Seung finish putting the second umbrella in the bag. “Do you want to drive or shall I?” After the months he had been working to get Seung more used to driving here in the States, Terry had finally gotten to the point that he was perfectly willing to let his fiance drive if he wanted and didn’t expect a heart attack from said driving.

Quote:
“I can, since I know where place is.” Shrugging he could easily tell Terry, and the other find the place, but he didn’t mind driving. He didn’t scare or upset the other anymore so it wasn’t so bad driving now, he didn’t feel like he was just going to screw it up somehow. Having his licence helped a lot as well, since it was legal for him and not just something he was capable of doing.

“Keys?” He asked glancing about. He didn’t have his own yet, something he should remember to do - get a copy of the car key. First though he needed to get his hair done, he already was planning on coloring it something different. He could, he figured, tell Terry but he figured to surprise him by just getting it done, something he’d have done no matter what. He liked to tinker with color a bit, since he couldn’t do it while in school and he wouldn’t be able to once he had to go through military service.

Quote:
Terry gave a smile and a nod as he pocketed his wallet, lightly tossing the car keys to Seung when they were asked for. “How many times have you been to there before?” He asked as they moved to go outside. “Did you find it on your own or with someone's suggestion?” Personally he would have to ask someone to recommend a place if he ever went looking for anything more then the trim he usually got to keep his hair roughly the same length and to get rid of any split ends.

Quote:
“Is in Korea town..and suggested. Eunkyung went recently for digital perm.” Since he couldn’t just say his cousin, seeing as two of his cousins lived in Destiny City now. He didn’t even think about telling Terry what a digital perm was, it didn’t even cross his mind, as he caught the keys and held them in his hand while heading for the front door, motioning the other to follow him.

“Deals with asian hair.” Since his hair was different from the others in texture, and how it grew and broke and such. So he had wanted to go somewhere which dealt with asian hair. Back in Seoul there were only a few places where the workers were trained to deal with caucasian hair, since it was different, as certain things simply didn't’ work as well on the foreign hair type.

Quote:
Digital perm? The term just caused Terry to imagine someone somehow getting a perm by bringing it up on a computer but realistically he knew that wouldn’t be the case. “What’s a digital perm?” He asked as he followed the older man outside then into the car. While he had known that Seung’s hair was different than his own, he hadn’t heard about how he needed someone trained in dealing with it before now. “I’m glad you are able to go to it then, have you ever gone to one that had no experience in asian hair before?” It was easy to see how that could have been a hair disaster if that was the case.

Quote:
“The wave Eunkyung has. Rebond hair after breaking bonds...curl hair around rollers and plug in to curl. Might see someone there getting done. Lasts half year.” Unlocking the car he climbed in and buckled up before turning his focus, for the moment, onto the other.

“No, heard of someone though. Thinned hair too much. Hair is different so grows and breaks different...can take different things.” There were ways to mess up the hair, easily, just as if you sent someone with caucasian hair to a person who hadn’t a clue - it would mess up.

Once Terry was in the car and buckled up he backed out of the driveway and headed for Korea town, and to where he was planning to get his hair done. He had an idea of the color but not an exact shade.

Quote:
“Half a year huh? How long does a normal perm last? I’ve never really looked into it since I wasn’t interested in getting one.” Terry asked with a curious hum. Once he was inside the car and buckled up as well he turned his head to look at Seung and leaned a bit more towards the middle. “Glad you were able to avoid that, though I’m sure you could pull of any hair style.” He gave a small smile that had a hint of flirt and a hint of playful to it. “So what are you going to get done when we get there?”

Quote:
“Don’t know, but healthier how we do. Not as damaging or harsh.” Which was nice, especially when you had to get it done twice a year in order to maintain. It was the same for his own hair, though it was something different which he got done with his own hair.

“Oh? Think I could?” He questioned and smiled then, catching the others flirty look. Giving a playful smile he tilted his head. “Mmm...new style and color, need to get treated and styled.” He might be able to make most styles look good but his hair cut back in school...no one could make that look good - he was sure of it. It was boring and without style at all. He was glad to be able to style his hair in various manners now though.

Quote:
“Less damaging is always good.” He wasn’t sure it was worth damaging your hair just for a certain hair style. After all usually when hair gets damaged it tended to be hard to get if fixed and after a certain amount of damage it was just easier to cut it off.

Terry looked over at Seung and gave a chuckle. “I definitely think you could. Should you with some styles? Probably not, but you could.” His eyes sparkled with curiosity when Seung mentioned that he needed to get his treated and styled. “Going to try something different?” He asked. Not knowing that many hairstyles he couldn’t even begin to imagine what his fiance would do but he did know it would look good.

Quote:
“New style and color...same treatment.” He answered as made for the small part of the city, nestled in nicely next to China town. The two districts in the city blended together at the borders, in a rather nice way, you’d find stores and restaurants for both countries on the same street and both sides of the street and a few such places bleeding into the other area along the border between the districts. It wasn’t too bad even though he spoke not a bit of Chinese so he tended to shy away from most of those stores, unless Fai was with him.

Some of the Chinese stores on the border, and just inside the Korean district, however he knew spoke good English or knew enough Korean that he could manage to make purchases or order food with a fair amount of ease.

It was towards the center of the korean district he headed though, having to park in a lot, he had no problem with accepting a ticket for the spot and he’d pay later. Parking in the area, on this street anyway, was a nightmare and not one he wished to deal with.

Once parked he stepped out of the car and gave a stretch. “Should not take too long...since only touch up treatment.”

Quote:
It was always interesting coming to Korea town, it was almost like stepping into a new country, especially when between Korea district and the China district. He was slowly getting used to coming over the past year and was picking up more and more of the Korean language thanks to Seung so he wasn’t as easily lost.

When they parked he got out of the car and walked around to where Seung was standing and with a smile linked their arms. “Alright, want to do anything after wards then since it won't take all day?” he asked while waiting for Seung to start them off, not knowing where they were meant to be going.

Quote:
“Lunch and any shopping you want.” By the time he was done he’d likely be hungry, and if not hungry then at least a light snack couldn’t hurt...right? That was something he was getting used to, slowly, snacking and not just eating during meal times. He was getting used to eating more slowly, thanks to Terry’s mother now knowing about them being knights and having watched his eating habits for long enough to know they weren’t good for a knight especially not when he still went to the gym and was working on martial arts.

Walking down the block, where he was going was a few shops down from the parking lot, Seung kept a hold of the other's hand. Fingers linked he smiled down at their joined hands, even ignoring one or two older people staring and saying something only he understood.

Choosing to ignore them, tightening his hold on the others hand, Seung was quick to hurry for the open door that led to steps going up to the second floor where the salon was. The door gave no indication of how nice, and clean and bright, the place was inside. But once the door opened that was easy to see. It was done in a modern style and looked good - clean. A few people were already there, both workers and other customers, he saw one older woman reading some magazine and two middle aged woman talking and watching the tv where some commercial was playing out at the moment.

A few steps in and Seung was standing in front of the welcoming desk where a lovely female, around his and Terry’s age, stood and bowed while greeting them. The gesture, and greeting, returned he let her know his name and who he was here for.

Quote:
Terry gave a hum in agreement, not having to think about that suggestion long. “Probably a good idea to do. We can figure out just what to eat after your appointment.” He wasn’t sure if he had anything in particular in mind for shopping but it wouldn’t hurt to browse around if that’s what Seung wanted to do. As they walked, he too ignored any stares or comments, not that he understood them fully anyway, and just enjoyed walking with his soon to be husband. When the went into the salon Terry’s eyes darted around taking it all in, though he hadn’t expected anything terribly different than the ones he had been into before and had been right besides a few cultural differences.

He kept quiet when Seung started to talk to the young woman at the welcome desk, only giving a polite smile and a bow to match Seung’s. After all he didn’t want to be rude.

Quote:
Most of it was the same, though most of the people were asian and likely Korean. Whether they were born here or not it was just a thing, it was just because this place was good for their hair. Walking back to where he could get his hair washed he pulled Terry with him. Greeting the one who would wash his hair and do the rest of what needed to be done. Washing was simple and easy - always was.

“Mmm, take time while here to decide on lunch for us. Not picky myself. Mmm, if want hair done also you can get - they know European hair here.” Since he and Terry did not have the same hair type. The workers here though he knew could handle it, he’d been told as much when he’d visited last time.

Quote:
He easily let the other man pull him along as Seung moved to get his hair washed, giving a small nod to him when he spoke up. “Alright I’ll give it some thought.” Terry said with a smile as he moved to stand out of the way of any workers but still close enough to talk to his fiance. He wasn’t particularly picky either but by the time the other man was done getting his hair done he could either offer some suggestions or just say where they were going. “I don’t think I need to get it done right not but I’ll keep that in mind for next time you come in.”

Quote:
Meanwhile once the shampoo was rinsed from his hair he was brought back to his seat and a conditioner was put into his hair, using a brush that’d use typically for putting in hair dye. It was after that, which had been left to sit in his hair for a while, that the first chemical was put in. The female telling him that it was to break the bonds of his hair, which he knew. But he figured she may not know he knew...or she was saying it for Terry’s sake.

It was another worker, who was passing by, that he asked for a drink from. They carried drinks here, thankfully, so when he asked for a drink he motioned to Terry. “If you want something drink - ask.”

Quote:
Terry followed when they moved back to the seat and tucked himself out of the way but still nearby. It was interesting to learn the process of how to dye hair, having never gotten it done before even if he sometimes got asked if the purple streak was dyed or not. It wasn’t but it was always funny to hear any speculations on how he had gotten it if they actually did care. “They offer drinks at the salon?” He asked, though it was more rhetorical seeing as he was seeing it happen in front of him anyway. He ended up politely asking for the same that Seung had asked for, not being picky and knowing that he hadn’t disliked much the other man drank yet.

Quote:
“Yeah.” Nodding his head he let the female explain, even though he already knew, about breaking the bonds and then setting his hair straight with a flat iron. Since this was a tough up it was only his roots which needed to get done, due to new growth. Doing everything would cause damage and was pointless unless he were to cut off all his hair.

“Like military service...when discharged and hair grows back.” Watching, from the mirror, as she nodded to what he’d said.

Quote:
Terry kept watching as Seung got his hair done, paying attention to both what they were saying and what each step was like. Personally he doubted he would want to go through with the hassle to get his hair done but it made Seung happy to be able to have that freedom and that made it worth it in his book. The mention of military service however made the brunette frown briefly before he shoved any thoughts on that way. It wasn’t like Seung had to worry about that any time soon anyway.

Quote:
After sitting a while, with the chemical in his hair it was rinsed out, no shampoo used. Once it was rinsed it that was when they went about blow drying his hair, because they had to reset the bonds and couldn’t dye his hair yet. So once his hair was blow dried they went ahead with the flat iron to straighten his hair.

Once that was done, which really took a while and left him feeling rather warm, if not a bit over heated, due to the flat iron and the heat it produced. His hair however was nice and smooth and silky and shone a dark black color, the red already having receded so his roots were showing; not a look he liked.

With another chemical put into his hair, just around the roots, he had to sit and wait...again. As she mentioned it locked the bonds back into place so his hair would be straight - since it was flat ironed straight.

Sipping at his drink, wanting to make it last since he was sitting there a while, he was happy to get up, again, and waddle his way to the back so the chemicals could be rinsed out.

“Just so I can have straight hair…”

Quote:
It was interesting watching the different steps needed to straighten out Seung’s hair as they prepared it to be recolored. Tedious if he had to sit through it himself, but still interesting to watch. “Why is it that you want to have straight hair anyway? You look adorable with curly hair.” Terry asked, a smile on his face. “Though you are adorable either way.”

Quote:
“You’ve seen it curly?” Seung questioned, curious. He kept it straight, since his hair was like that from all the treatments. Just the roots weren’t - new growth. Though he supposed Terry could have spotted a picture of him, when younger, with his hair curly as he’d been unable to treat it due to school regulations which kept students from treating their hair in any manner.

“Maybe when it grows back in….” Once military service was over, and only then it was a maybe...likely not. He was used to having his hair nice and neat and straight.

Quote:
Terry gave his fiance a bright smile before responding to the question. “Of course, there is at least one picture floating around your social media of you with it. And your cousins are very helpful.” Curly or straight, he found Seung adorable so it didn’t matter to him which way the other man prefered to have it, he was just curious as to why the preference. “You don’t have to change your habits on my account, I was just wondering is all.”

Quote:
“Of course...cousins.” Shaking his head, smiling, he honestly wasn’t upset. He should have seen it coming, eventually. He knew Terry poked about his social media accounts but to go back that far? And then talk to his cousins. “I’m sure you can get pictures from cousins...unless already did and have them saved to computer?” He questioned, already figuring that was indeed the case.

“Fit in better...curly not common….” Shrugging a bit he watched as his hair dresser returned with what was needed to bleach his hair, as he needed his color stripped so the dye would take well. “Surprised you saw...curly was long time ago. School didn’t allow hair changes…not once out of lowest school.”

Quote:
“I do indeed have a few saved. I can show you which ones later when we are back home if you like.” Terry offered, smile not dropping a bit when he saw Seung was amused. Of course some of the pictures had come with stories here and there but Eunkyung and Hyeon had only told a few so he was hoping Seung would fill in the blanks if he did look. “Makes sense.” When the country wanted everyone in school to fit in look wise it wasn’t a surprise that Seung had made the change.

Quote:
“Had curly hair in higher grades. Younger could have hair like everyone else. Then graduated went to have same as everyone else again.” He’d spent a good amount of years with curly hair going to school so there were lots of pictures, his school pictures and such. He’d been able to put a flat iron to his hair but hadn’t done it too often, not wanting to damage his hair.

As his hair was painted with the bleach he knew it would need to sit before his hair was again conditioned which seemed like a lot but he was doing a lot to his hair and it would be worth it, in his opinion. He was looking forward to getting his hair colored something new and a new style...well that part he was a bit nervous about. He didn’t know how he’d look with the new style. He had his fingers crossed really.

Quote:
“That certainly explains the pictures then.” Terry said with an amused hum. He made a mental note to ask when exactly he had started to get his hair done later and to see if there were any baby pictures of him with curly hair since neither of his fiance’s cousins had shared actual baby pictures yet. “So what are you going to go with this time?” He asked, curiosity shining in his eyes. Seung had been blond and brunette when they met, then lately had black with red streaks, so he wasn’t sure what the older man would pick this time around.

Quote:
“Going dark grey.” He answered with a smile as he sat with the bleach now soaking into his hair. Seung just hated the wait honestly, and the smell - he never liked the smell. His hair though needed to get pale...really pale so the grey color he was going with would show up.

“Picked style already.” He had, when making his appointment, sent them a picture of what he wanted for the cut. He really was nervous for that part, coloring never worried him...even though he knew he was damaging his hair. He would have to soon cut it short and give it time to grow back and handle itself...to heal up some more. He did a lot of bleaching and coloring really...and the touch ups he had to do just to keep up and maintain it.

“Next time think I’ll let grow out - naturally. Time to heal from this.” From the bleaching and coloring.

Quote:
“Dark gray huh? Any particular reason why or just liked the color?” Terry asked, trying to imagine Seung with dark gray hair. It wasn’t a bad image in the least. He didn’t ask about the style since he would just see it soon enough and that would be easier then to have it described anyway. The mention of having it go back to normal to let it rest got a nod from Terry as he understood just why that would be needed.

Quote:
“Mmm, seen on some idols - looks good with skin tone.” He answered. The idea had come from seeing it on other people like himself, other asians with his skin tone, and seeing how nicely it contracted. It looked good together so he was looking forward to trying the color on his own hair and seeing how well he could pull off the color.

“Should be good.” Leaning forward the grab his phone he unlocked the screen and did a few taps of the on screen keyboard before offing his phone to Terry. “Like that color.” He said while getting up to get the bleach out before returning to his seat in front of the mirror - time for color. Finally!

Finally he was getting close to finishing...damn. He needed his hair trimmed also, due to the bleaching and damage to the tips of his hair. Which was fine with him since he was going for a style anyway. “Almost done.”

Quote:
Well that was certainly a reason he could understand. When Seung passed him his phone to show him the picture he gave it a once over for the color then another for the actual idol. “You’re right, it does look good on him with his skin tone.” He couldn’t say who the idol was off the top of his head, not having memorised many of their names beyond their group names yet but it did suit him. “No rush.” He looked back over to Seung and gave him both a smile and his phone back.

Quote:
“Hoping looks good on me, similar tone.” He answered as things continued on. As his hair was colored, time was spent waiting before his hair was once more washed and he got his hair trimmed and styled before it was blow dried one last time though the heat was kept low this time since he’d just damaged his hair.

It took a while….hours of him up and down and waddling about as he got his hair done. A trip or two to the bathroom and finally - finally Seung was done with his hair trimmed, colored, styled, straightened and done...it was done. He was able to stand and went to pay at the counter, tipping very nicely, before looking to Terry. He was tired from it all but also hungry - oh so hungry. It took alot out of him, it really did.

“Food then home?” He asked the other. Moving to pull on a face mask, this time of year his allergies acted up thanks to the pollen in the air. Reaching out for the others hand. “Food ideas?”

Quote:
He had done his best to keep Seung occupied so he wouldn’t be too bored as the hours flew by but by the time his fiance was done he was just as ready to leave as the other man. Terry gave Seung a smile and a nod when he was finished paying and took the other’s reaching hand. “Food then home sounds good. Your hair looks pretty good by the way.” He would have given Seung a kiss to the cheek but held off for now. “I have an idea or too.” That said he lead his fiance out of the salon and steered him towards their next destination.
