Walking into the family home, Pruu looked around with pursed lips. "Pyrrha! You don't want to be late for practice again!" she called out. She knew well enough that Pyrrha had no qualms with skipping training, but Pruu was going to make sure her sister got the necessary work in. It was getting harder to get her sister to come along as they got older.. She worried how Pyrrha would fair when the time came to claim their island from the glowing-eyed filth they currently had to share their land with...

It wasn't difficult to find someone who had no intention of hiding. Pyrrha stretched her arms above her head, raising her torso just an inch off her cot before flopping back down with a contented yawn. Her eyes took in the pleasant sun streaming in from outside; the same sun that warmed her skin and made her feel like falling back asleep.

She had been out late last night observing a peculiar flower before finally strolling in. There were still leaves in her hair, which wasn't terribly uncommon these days, and mud between her toes. They wiggled, mingling in with the now soiled linens, but she didn't mind. Mud was a part of nature, a part of Elzira, and she loved it all.

When she heard the yelling she exhaled, sinking further into her bed. Who have I upset today? Strange; she usually had to be awake to do that. It took her sleep fogged mind a moment to realize that it was her twin, and while Pruu's presence encouraged her to get out of bed, it didn't inspire her to do much else.

She made her way into the common area, smiling, with her dreads sticking up at all angles. "Good morning, sister."

Putting together a small snack to take along, she looked over at the sleepy voice. Good, Pyrrha was here. She looked over and let out a rather amused but heavy sigh. "Sister, did you only just rise from your bed? Much of the morning has gone already!" Shaking her head, she picked up one of the wrapped goodies and held it out to Pyrrha, her other hand attempting to wrangle in those wild dreads. "Here, I have made us lunch to take along. Do you know which weapon you would like to train with today? I can go get it ready for you if you want to eat something light right now."

Pyrrha stretched her arms high above her head, even going so far as to stand on the tips of her toes just so that her fingers could skim the rafters. She gave a contented sigh, one that heralded yet another yawn before she lowered herself back to the ground.

"Has it? Good afternoon, then, Pruu." She smiled sweetly to her sister, who seemed more focused on fluttering around her like a bird. "You shouldn't get yourself worked up so early. You'll upset your stomach." She unwrapped the bit of food she'd been given, pinched off a portion and popped it into her mouth.

When asked what weapon she preferred, Pyrrha shrugged her shoulders and chewed on another bite. "I hadn't given it much thought. I was hoping to go to the shoreline today. Yesterday I saw a tintural and I'm hoping to find another." Her tone went from blase to a little more excitable near the end. "Perhaps we could go together?"

"Well, almost good afternoon. Though, at this rate, we might as well stick with it." Shaking her head, Pruu turned back to the food she was wrapping. "We have established that it is not early, so, clearly, my stomach will be fine. Besides, I am not worked up."

Tucking her own lunch into a pack, she turned back to Pyrrha and cocked her head. The shore... Maybe she could do a little swimming....? "We should wait to go traipsing off until after our lesson is done. What better way to earn some downtime than to work hard at training first?"

Pyrrha would have argued that point, but as it was likely to start an argument, she chose not to. Pruu was always worked up; trying to be the best, trying to strengthen herself when Pyrrha thought she just needed to sit back and relax. Surely all that stress couldn't be good for her.

"Hmm," She pondered on it for a moment, or seemed to, at least. The young elaria stepped forward, picking at a discarded ribbon that had been left on the table. Maybe she could make a new hair tie with it? "No, I think I'll go to the shore instead."

Pruu sighed heavily. "Pyrrha, how do you expect to advance in life by skipping training all the time?" she scolded, managing to keep her voice level. Much of it was annoyance, but much of it was also concern. She didn't want to see her sister fall behind... "What good is it to be wandering off with your head in the clouds? You have a healthy and strong body, sister. You should be honing it rather than letting it go soft."

"You say that as if life is a training session, Pruu. It's so much simpler than that. You needn't worry about it so much." She bit off the last of her 'breakfast' and licked the remaining crumbs from her fingers. The little antennae around her ears flexed, as if they were just now waking and stretching to great the world.

Pyrrha picked up the bit of ribbon before moving languidly past Pruu, heading for the door. "Oh if only my head were in the clouds. Can you imagine how lovely it would be to fly?" She opened the door, nudging it the rest of the way by bumping against it with her hip. Her hands were busy fixing her dreads into sloppy pigtails.

"If my body were hard like a stone, sister, then where would you place your head when the stress of your world hits?"

Pruu looked at her sister with a cocked brow. "Of course it is. We must always be preparing ourselves for whatever is to come next. I would not call that complicated at all."

Fly?! Pruu gawked at her look-alike and huffed. "What nonsense! If Elzira had any desire for us to fly, she would have given us wings." The last observation made her pause, cheeks warming slightly. "Soft resting places are for cots and pillows. I would find more comfort in a body that could stand up to whatever rare need I have of someone to rest against." As if she would need to lean on someone...

Following Pyrrha out, she crossed her arms tightly. "Are you so intent to move about like those tintural?"

As she walked Pyrrha had an almost languid sashay about her. She moved from side to side, as if her legs couldn't commit to the straight path before her. Her eyes traveled up the trees into their branches, peeking spots where the sun was brightest through the leaves.

"Maybe our daughters will have them. Wouldn't that be something..."
They had come from the alkidike, after all, so who was to say their own children wouldn't be stranger still? She hunched her back and spread her arms out, flexing her finger tips like a bird's wing. When she raised her head she moved her limbs, acting as if she herself were in mid flight.

Even in her apparent 'activity' Pyrrha still moved slowly, her steps as soft as dew upon the ground. "If only I could, sister. What a blessing it would be to grow herbs from my back, and yet, I wouldn't have a need to seek them out anymore."

Pruu pressed her lips slightly. Much to her disappointment, her mind followed along a similar path to her sister's. They were quite different from their cousins, so having children even more different would not be such a far-fetched idea. To be able to fly... "Well, then it will be up to our daughters to fly. We need not waste our time thinking on it." Honestly...

Though Pruu was a hunter who could tread almost soundlessly through the forest, there was minimal dew in her current step. "Perhaps our daughters will grow herbs on their backs along with the wings," she muttered, albeit with a heavy dose of sarcasm. "Your mind should be focused on what we can do, sister. You would accomplish much with yourself if you would cease pretending to be what you are not."

Pyrrha twined her fingers together and hoisted her arms high above her head, stretching up onto her tip toes with a contented sigh. When she lowered herself back to the ground her feet found themselves in a puddle, muddy water swamping her little toes, but she didn't seem to mind. If anything she wiggled her toes into the muck, getting them nice and covered before moving on.

"I couldn't agree more," She answered happily. "By studying the tintural and their herbs I can better prepare our daughters to cope with their possible mutations." Pyrrha turned so that she walked backwards, stepping over roots in the process as she had done a thousand times before. The elaria was so used to her path that she barely had any concerns with the reverse walk. "What am I pretending to be, Pruu?"

Pruu sighed. Pyrrha really believed the next generation would sprout wings and herbs? That would most likely require the mother being planted in another area of foreign land, as that was what had been needed for their own arrival. ...How many times could the goddess grow in such a way?

Watching Pyrrha walk backward for a moment, Pruu admired the ability before turning her attention back to the subject at hand. "I suppose it depends on the time! You just spoke of being a tintural, and you have apparently imagined yourself with wings." Lips pressing for a moment, she frowned and shook her head. "It is as though you pretend to be anything other than the elarian that you are. Why do you wish to be anything else?"

"You mean to say you haven't imagined yourself with wings?" Pyrrha clucked her tongue and shook her head, canting it just enough to the side so that when she stopped her bangs covered the left half of her face.

"You're so much like Kou." She spoke her mothers hand with a little half lipped smile. In all honesty, she wasn't sure that was such a good thing, but no doubt her sister felt proud to be so much like their strong willed mother. Pyrrha raised her arms, motioning to the world around them, "Why not ask Elzira? After all, she made me this way. She lets me question, and so, I do."

Pruu snorted sharply. "Of course I have not!" Such nonsense... Like Kou? Pruu couldn't help lifting her chin slightly. Indeed, that was a compliment to the tough youth. "And you are too much like Fassala," she retorted, clearly using their gentler mother as a negative comparison.

When Pyrrha voiced her next thought, Pruu froze in her tracks. Elzira... The mother of the elarians... It was She who had created their race... As the doubt raced through her, a doubt and questioning that she was unwilling to face right then, she coughed to ease her frustration. It was silly to doubt! "You were born normal. I think Fassala must have dropped you onto your head a few times," she huffed with a rather humorless snort despite her smirk.
