-"Oh come on, we could totally get her."
"No, remember last time? She gave me a black eye!"
"Don't be a weenie Muro. You just got too close to her tail. The rattle hurts!"
"Can we at least pick someone different?"
Mio sighed deeply and dramatically. Her twin had been so much more reluctant to participate in pranks after their failed one on another freshling.
It wasn't her fault that their target had a mean punch! It was mostly Muro's fault anyways. Afterall, he's the one who grabbed her tail.
"Fiiiine. We can find someone else."
As Mio headed off to the gardens, Muro sighed almost as dramatically.
Mio stopped to beckon him to walk faster, and as he did, he looked wistfully back to home. They had been having so much fun playing a racing game,
but Mio's mind changed track so suddenly they'd left their console on. He wanted to go back and keep going, but his twin would never be satisfied until they pranked someone. Fail or success.
"How about that one?" Muro pointed towards the figure to their left, keeping his voice down as he caught up to his twin.
"Hmmmmm....That'll do." Mio agreed as she headed towards the figure.

 Sign was still around the playground he had said goodbye to the other freshling and was about to leave when a pair of freshlings came towards him. He was still feeling grumpy and tired ready for a nap. Now what could these freshlings want didn't they get that he was about to leave? Sign sighed deeply and waited to find out what they wanted so he could go back to his dorm. Sign had lost touch with his brother, and felt really alone these days. Oh well it wouldn't be the first time Sign was left behind, it had started from the beginning when his and Hazard's parents had left them on the shore.

-Drat, they had been spotted just as quickly as if they had actually called out to the other Freshling. Mio rolled her eyes in annoyance, having to come up with a way to play their little game without pulling a surprise prank.
"Well, well well~" She started, leaning on her twin the moment they got close enough to the other to speak face to face. "What have we here?" Her voice was sing-song, sweet and almost TOO Friendly.
Muro was more than unsure. It was one thing to play pranks on freshlings that could be spooked, but this kid...this kid looked more like he would be the one doing the spooking. Still, Mio led the charge, an he could only follow.
"What'cha doing?" Was all Muro asked for now, unsure of where his twin was going with this. He mimicked Mio's voice, to the point where no one could tell them apart if not for the slightly differing outfits they wore.
"Looks like you might need an escort away from the playground." Mio continued, grinning and flashing her still-growing saber-fangs. Usually, the freshlings they went up to were shaken by the sight of the twins' hallowed features, and she had begun to be dependent on the shock value.
Muro, on the other hand, kept his expression neutral, simply crossing his arms and raising a brow inquisitively.

Sign rolled his eyes at the tone of the two hybird mutated twins, they weren't bad because they were mutated they were bad, because they were clearly about to start trouble. "I was just going and no I don't need you two to walk me away from the playground why would I??" Sign frowned deeply at them both. Wondering why they would want to bother him, he had nothing to do with either of them. Sign gave neither of them the shock they seemed to want, they were being forward and rude. He didn't like it one bit, at least the last freshling he met was quiet and polite.

-"You're a ray of sunshine, huh?" Mio observed, grinning widely still. Alright, there wasn't any real reaction from this kid, but that's fine. She didn't need the shock and awe trick today anyways. "You never know, you might definitely need an escort today, but didn't know it!"
Muro nodded sagely in agreement with his twin. Though, he seemed less enthused about trying to start something, and instead of following up with more jabbing, Muro instead uncrossed his arms and jabbed a thumb behind him.
"Yeah, didn't you see in the bushes? Some junior was watching you guys.
Real creepy fella. Who knows, maybe they're waiting for you all to split up so they can bully you."
Mio gave the sweetest smile she could muster. Muro was making this a lot easier, and she appreciated it greatly.
"Yeah, we're just looking out for you is all! We don't wanna end up seein' you on the news, having been punched into a pulp by a bully! We'll help you get somewhere safe."
Both twins had quickly changed their demeanor, from aggressive to at least somewhat friendly. Although they were still intent on tricking this kid -somehow-, the last thing they wanted was to actually do something harmful.

Sign growled and said "I'm not a ray of shine nor do I need to be, I'm Sign and I'm going back to my dorm I don't need you or anyone else to help me do that." Sign rolled his eyes and said "Why should I believe anything either of you say?? Sign glared at them, trying to trick and manipulate him. It was really annoying that they thought they could make him believe anything they wanted. Which just wasn't going to happen. "Besides if there were juniors in the bushes wanting to hurt me, what makes you think you two could take them on any better than I could your freshlings too?"

"Muro."
"And in case you hadn't noticed--" Mio started to walk around behind Sign as soon as they introduced themselves, almost like a predator circling their prey.
"When it comes to numbers, it'd be three of us--" Muro continured, staying where he was and flicking his twin tails back and forth.
"To one of them." Mio finished, ceasing her circling of their new 'friend' to now stand beside her twin. "It's simple mathematics, really. The more of us, the less chance they stand." Mio had changed her tone from being teasing and almost degrading, to talking like she was just talking to another sibling. Casual and friendly.
"That's how we work, yanno?" Muro chuckled. "Two of us, one of anyone else. Safety in numbers yanno?" Muro didn't have to feign his friendliness.
That was a huge difference between the twins. Where Mio was always tinkering with some ulterior motive to her words and actions, Muro was far more sincere and willing to lets let things happen as they happened.
"And you don't have to believe us." Mio continued, brushing some hair out of her face. "But do you really want to take the chance? I mean, I wouldn't wanna get beat up before dinner... unless you WANT to get beat up?" Mio questioned, now walking around behind Sign. "Which I can understand, some people think they deserve it!"
"Aw, come on sis. He doesn't look like he deserves it!" Muro popped up with the defense.

Sign growled and hissed at the twins, "Nothing either of you says matters, I don't need you or anyone else. I don't deserve to be beat up and if I am the caretakers or Ava will deal with it. Not either of you." Sign said in an angry tone. He didn't really notice the tone difference in the twins. They had gotten his goat and he was going to get out of there as fast as he could they were trouble makers and maybe would never be anything more than trouble makers. That wasn't his problem, he was going back to his dorm. Perhaps if Sign opened himself to good freshlings he would make friends and stop being a target to jerks.

-"Exactly!" Muro barked, stepping to try and block Sign's path. "You don't deserve it, we don't deserve it, no one deserves it! ...Well, except maybe the bullies themselves..."
With Muro trailing off, Mio stepped in. "And, you know, by the time the headmistress or the caretakers step in, it'll be too late~ You've just gonna stick with those you know'll have your back."
"Like we can!" Muro insisted, puffing his chest out in a ridiculous manner.
Rolling her yes, Mio reached over to poke her twin in the stomach, triggering a burst of laughter from him. Ah yes, so easy to get him to fold. "Ahem...As we were saying..." She turned back to Sign, trying to give him a genuine smile. "You shouldn't be so quick to...dismiss us. Listen, we reaaaaalllllyyyy just want to make sure you get to your dorm safe. And, hey! maybe stop by ours~?"
"It's only us!" Muro continued, having recovered from his laughing fit. "And we have cool stuff we've gotten sent to us by our family! Like our uncle's awesome, HUGE crystal screen. Doesn't that sound cooler than being beat up?"
"If you don't want to.." Mio shrugged. "We can just follow you for a bit, make sure you get back to yours safe, bid farewell and look forwards to our next meeting."
"...I kinda wanna hang out." Muro admitted. This had gone from 'let's prank him' to 'this guy's grumpy let's try and be friends'. That part would be the hardest, now. A glance to Mio was spared, and she looked back at him.
"I'd be down. Especially if it meant, yanno, we didn't have to watch you get knocked down or something."

Sign knew better then to go with strange crazy freshlings that said they saw a junior that Sign hadn't seen, he wasn't about to go with them even if they had the best toys in the whole world. Sign might have been a ward of the school but he wasn't desperate enough to hang out with the likes of them to get to watch stuff on their fancy TV. Sign ignored the twins and continued to walk not paying them any mind till he arrived at the dorms. He couldn't stop them from following him to his dorm room, but if they kept bothering him he would call a caretaker.

Glaring at the departing freshlings from his hiding place, Jíyún made a mental list of the notes he'd taken of the encounter he witnessed. It was so very distressing to see his niece and nephew back away from being the malicious little miscreants he knew they could be...and instead they tried to buddy up with the kid? Of course, they didn't know it was him that was watching but still! They were being a disappointment!
They didn't even follow! They went to their own dorm right away! Although he'd have to get on them later, he thought maybe, just maybe, he would have to make sure the other kid, Sign, was it? Knew that he, indeed, had been watched. As fun as it would be for the twins to go about their lives without being validated in their attempts at 'saving' the other freshie, Jíyún just couldn't wait to make someone else paranoid.
Thus, as soon as the freshling passed his hiding spot, just a large bush, he rose from it, gave a toothy grin of his own, and watched him go on his way. He didn't follow, that would be creepy, and he didn't make a move except to keep his eyes locked on the small boy.
