Circe had been leaning against a wall, listening as Zoom had been ridiculing the rabble for their ineptness. He certainly wasn't wrong, and if wasn't for his quick and decisive action to intervene, the situation at S.T.A.R. Laboratories would have been a less than favourable outcome. She continued to listen to Zoom, as he eventually said something that pertained to her, "--Now, hoping we have learnt from our mistakes, we shall begin our next mission. Circe, you and Parasite will be heading off to Themyscira. You'll be meeting with Ares, he will explain what is needed to be done once you are there, and I trust you will succeed." Circe gave a firm nod. She knew the practical value behind this alliance, and she wasn't prepared to sacrifice it in the face of her ego being hurt by receiving orders from him. Twisting her head to Parasite, she lifted herself off of the wall, and walked towards the back of the room. Opening a portal that emitted a multicoloured aura, she motioned her hand for Parasite to walk through it first, then entering herself.

The portal had led them to none other than Areopagus, the domain of Ares. Emerging from the magical link, Circe and Parasite walked across the rock, however Circe soon raised her right hand, signalling for Parasite to halt and wait as she walked ahead. It had been a while since she had last spoken to Ares. Here's hoping he had no knowledge of her using his likeness on a revenant to break Diana in Metropolis. Her purple cape trailed behind her as she approached the shadowy figure standing at the pinnacle of the rock. None other than the God of War himself, Circe took the first opportunity to speak, "It's been a while, Ares. Whoever thought the both of us would be consorting with the likes of speedsters?" she mused lightheartedly, "--Ahh, so I am to be briefed on a plan of yours, apparently?" Standing by his side, looking down upon the civilisation below that was under the shroud of night, she awaited his response.

"It is an amusing thought isn't it?"The God of War asked rhetorically, still staring down from his vantage point in the skies, watching as the world beneath them continued to go on, unaware of the forces at work."Almost as amusing as the notion that a witch would even consider using my image to tear down her enemies." He added, making it abundantly clear that he was aware of recent actions. If he had any intention of expressing any further thought on the matter was unclear as he turned to the old sorceress.

Ares appeared the same as he always had: The living personification of violence. He was clad in the ancient armor of ages past that gave him the appearance of a legionnaire. His war craft was shaded a dark blue and the only skin that was visible through his armor seemed to be covered in solidified darkness, giving it the appearance that it was just a silhouette. The only indication that there was a god within this armor were the pair of eyes the burned a furious red, twin reflections of all of humanity's hatred given form.

"Still, the yellow speedster presented an offer that was simply too irresistible to be passed upon." His hand rested upon the pommel of the sword sheathed at his hip, his gaze was fierce and it was though he was boring into Circe's soul. "Tell me Circe, are you familiar with the Titanomachy?" He inquired, testing her knowledge of one of the oldest Greek myths that had ever existed. There was more to his question than she could imagine, but he would explain later on, choosing rather to amuse himself for a brief moment.

Circe bit her lip, as if she was to cage her tongue from commenting on The God of War's rather fragile ego. The soul of Hecate burned within the witch, and whether the other gods came to recognise her as an equal or not - it did not matter, for the era of magic was drawing near. Truthfully, she had always respected Ares. Where as most men were narrow-viewed and lacked the tenacity and absolute focus of a woman, Ares made up for with physical prowess, ruthless ambition and patronage of the mystic arts.

The sorceress raised her head as a breeze brushed over her shoulders. Her pure white eyes glowed like the aether, and gleamed with deviltry as the rested upon her sullen cheeks, and wore a hexing violaceous headdress sat like the horns of a demon behind her head. With a raised silken brow, she turned her head to Ares, who still looked over the lands below. Upon the bloodthirsty god's mention of the 'Titanomachy', she pondered briefly. She was unfortunately more than familiar with Tartarus, she was able to bare witness to the consequences the befell the Titan's following Zeus' victory. "The Titanomachy? I'll spare you the regaling of a tale that we both know well enough, Ares." She riposted, as if it was an insult to her intelligence. However, Circe would have been lying to herself if she wasn't intrigued, scheming was one of her many raison d'être's. Reveling in the thrill that the two crimson eyes that pierced her soul brought, she curled her mouth bewitchingly, "Now what could you possibly have in mind, darling?" She avariciously questioned.

Are's knew that he had piqued her interest in what he had to say. Circe had ever been a curios creature, ever hunger for knowledge in any form. Still he would skip the major details and move straight to the point. Time was short after all and there was much work to be done. The God of War turned away from her, moving towards his throne. It sat atop a bronze dais,a series of steps lead up to it, skulls lined on the edges of each step. A reminder of the god who ruled this particular domain.

"As you know the war between Titan and God was a fierce conflict. The earth was said to be literally torn asunder and mountains were both shattered and formed from the force of the blows struck between each side." He explained, retelling a tale that had been told for generations. Except for individuals such as Circe and himself, this was not so much a story as it were a literal fact. Gods and Titans had waged war upon one another and the conflict had shaped the world that now stood today. "For years both sides were caught in a stalemate, until the Cyclops had crafted The Thunderbolt . The very weapon my father had used to slay his father and cast down the Titans. " He held out his palm towards her, a puff of black smoke rising from within that took the form of a portal. It was akin to a mirror that revealed the great Bolt of Zeus. It took the form of a literal bolt of lightning that crackled and sparked fiercely, containing within it vast mystical power. One bolt was said to have the power to shatter an entire mountain and Zeus was said to wield hundreds of them. "What many are unaware of, my brothers and sisters included is that the weapon Zeus wields now was not the original. The Cyclops first attempt at crafting the weapon resulted in a single bolt that could have nearly scoured all life on the planet. Not even my father could wield such an incredible weapon. So instead, he had it hidden."

Ares than sat upon his throne, the image of the portal soon starting to shift. The Bolt of Zeus had dissipated soon replaced by the all too familiar of an a hidden island, inhabited by a race of warrior woman that had long been a thorn in both Circe and Ares hide. "Themyscera. "

She arched a single eyebrow as her gaze stalked Ares. With a single hand on hip, a life awoke in her eyes as The War God had the temerity to speak of such power. Her eyebrows grew knitted as he had made mention of 'Themyscira'. The Amazons were fools, Circe harboured a great hatred within her heart for both Queen Hippolyta and her pig of a daughter, Diana. Curling her lip in disgust at the thought of them, she pointed a finger at Ares. The bottom of her boots clicked as she slowly climbed the steps.
"You've always known just what to say to have me, War God" She laughed. Stopping short of a few steps of his throne, she brought her finger back and curled her hand into a fist. "The Bestiamorph's are at your disposal ,you know war better than anyone. They will skin the hide off of the back of those self-righteous whores." She snapped her fingers, and within an instant, one of her Bestiamorph Generals had appeared on bent knee to Ares. She had every bit of faith that they would succeed - for who could stand against The God of War and The Goddess of Magic? "Knowing the Amazons and their love of symbolism, this bolt of your dog of a father is likely to be within the walls of the Temple of the Patrons at the inner most part of the island, and heavily guarded. How do you propose we attack, Ares? Circe had put a spin in her heel as she descended the stairs, to gaze once more at the domain beneath them.

Ares paid little heed to the bestiamorph's grovelling, looking towards the sorceress as she questioned what the plan of attack would be. There was no simple answer there. While his hatred of the amazon's was well founded, dating back untold millennia, he could not deny their aptitude for conflict nor their military prowess. "Assaulting Themyscera will be no easy task. Every inch of the island is a well fortified death trap and the Amazons for all of talk of peace and love will fight tooth and nail to defend their home. Dozens of methods of assault and siege were cycling through his mind. Even with their superior numbers, it would still be hard fought battle. A single amazon was easily worth 10 of Circe's bestiamorphs, and there were hundreds on the island.

"A ruse is necessary. My army shall lead a full beach ahead assault, coupled with two thirds of your own. I will lead the assault, forcing the Amazons to focus all of their attention on the beach." He started to explain, the image within the portal starting to shift once more, showing Themyscera in all of its glory. The face of the Temple of Patrons came into sight. " With all of their attention geared towards myself, you will lead the remaining contigents of your army and take the Bolt. We do not need to win the battle, we need only distract them long enough to take that 'weapon' and escape."

Circe ran a finger across her lip as she held her head back. Ares' reasoning was sound, the Amazons indeed were a formidable fighting force. His plan was based on a rather remarkable divide and conquer strategy - so much so that the Amazon's would be completely unawares of it effect for the most part. She raised her hand as the Beastiamorph came crawling over towards it's mistress. "General Mikos, see to it that two thirds of your beasts are reporting to Ares and his command before sundown." The Beastiamorph replied with a growl as it trudged off into a portal of her making.

Circe's golden bracers glistened as the sky entered it's twilight. Her own military prowess paled in comparison to Ares', but she had won countless battles before - that spoke volumes for the schemes of the War God. "We should attack under cover of nightfall - tonight." Her lips tightened as she turned her head from gazing over the cliff. A sight to behold was Ares. "I shall go and prepare my own forces. Until we next meet, Ares." Circe was soon engulfed by magical energies as she teleported from the Aeropagus to her own stronghold.

Hours later after preparing her own soldiers, she slowly strutted towards the balcony, and peered out of it from the uppermost room in her fortress. She smirked as she watched several contingents of Beastiamorphs marched out to join with Ares' forces at the Aeropagus. She watched as the others were forming up, and preparing to march on Circe's command. All was well and going according to plan. However, much to her own joy, tonight was a full moon - a perfect time for spell-casting for any ordinary witch, but for the Goddess of Magic? One of the many times when her power would be strengthened. She descended the stairs of her stone brick fortress, her cape billowed behind her as she made for the lowest underground chamber.

The staircase led to an empty, decrepit room with nothing in it - to the untrained eye. She pricked her finger and smeared a small drop of her own blood across the wall, resulting in a hidden entrance being opened. Within was a small cave. There was a small lake of water lay within the grotto, and a center of land within the middle. It was decorated with strange plants of old and new, and many dusty apothecary jars filled with exotic and foreign ingredients took up space in several small shelves. As the moon rose high above the cave, the small opening in the ceiling allowed a bright beam of light to shine through from the moon. She sat crossed legged in the middle of the small island, levitating several of the plants and ingredients towards her and speaking in an ancient tongue. "κόσμος..." She chanted, as a glowing purple circle began to draw around the sorceress. Her eyes rolled back as she held out her arms "ἀντιτίθημι... φίλος..." Several of the jars began to smash open as the powders spread themselves across the circle. Ancient symbols appeared across it, surrounding Circe at it's center. "καταιγίδα από μαγεία!" The goddess hissed through her teeth. Dark unnatural clouds erupted in the sky. Circe had summoned a storm, with the effect of damaging the morale of the Amazons in the fight to come - an aid to both Ares and a cover to herself. Raising her right hand, the sorceress shot a magical beam towards the cloud, giving it motion to move towards Themyscira. She opened a portal there and then to speak to one of her Bestiamorph Generals. "Ares will soon be marching on Themyscira - send forth all remaining legions to form on the shores of The Forbidden Island, there we shall wait for the Amazons to fall for Ares' ruse."

Themyscera, in the dark of night

Ares pulled his sword free of the Amazon's stomach with a welter of blood , the crimson splashing across his cobalt armor. The motion had elicited a scream from the Themysceran who was now writhing painfully in a poolf oer her own blood. . To her credit, she did not beg for mercy, and glared at him with such a hatred that it could stop a man dead in his tracks; that was a trait that he could respect in a warrior. He rewarded her brave defiance with a boot to the neck, breaking it and ending her life instantly. "Forward you dogs!" The God of War roared out, not dwindling a moment longer. There was a battle to be fought, and he would not be found wanting. All around him man, woman, and beast were fighting and dying.

His dark army, an ancient force of warriors and creatures bound to his will coupled with the beastimorph army of the witch Circe, now laid siege to Amazonian homeland. It would have been simple enough for the God to have teleported his forces across the length and width of the island, but he had chosen a more theatrical route; an assault by sea. Even now, dozens of ancient triremes were now beaching themselves upon the sands of Themyscera, with dozens more standing put at sea. The great wooden ships ferried hundreds of warriors across the waters, spilling them out as soon as they could make landing. Flaming arrows and bolts crisscrossed through the air, providing some light and casting a random assortment of shadows across the terrain.

The War God's initial arrival had gone largely unnoticed thanks to the cover of the storm provided by Circe, a boon Ares would be loath to thank her for at some later point, however before they could land a beach head, an Amazon war horn had been sounded and their arrival had finally been revealed.

"My Lord Ares! "Came the familiar call of General Mikos, Circe's creature, he approached the god, his fur stained red with blood, although whether it was the enemy's or his own, was difficult to tell, not that Ares cared. Live or die, all of this conflict served only to fuel him. " The battlements are nearly erected and we are holding strong, however the resistance only grows more fierce! We are losing men by the drove trying to take the watch tower!" The beastiamorph emphasized his point, pointing towards the watch tower, which even now rained down flaming arrows towards the soldiers that attempted to take it. Any that managed to get to the base of the tower was greeted by a Amazon spear to the throat.

"Quite." The God of War stood there for a moment, taking in all that occurred around him. The scent of blood filled the air and he breathed it in deeply, basking in it's iron taste. The shouts of defiance in the face of death and destruction was like a melody to him. Ares waved a hand towards the tower, a great orb of black fire suddenly bursting into life before him, bathing him in a dark eerie light. He flicked his wrist and the flame suddenly shot forward. It soared through the sky, catching the eyes of all of those present. With a devastating explosive force, it smashed into the side of the Watch Tower completely obliterating it. Fire, stone, and bodies showered the ground around it, burying all of those beneath it.

Ares turned back towards the beastimorph, walking past him as though what had just transpired was beneath his notice "Carry on General, we make haste towards the palace." He dismissed the creature before moving on. There was still much killing to be done.

The Justice League scanners on which Themyscira could be monitored showed the activity mounting on the Island and confirmed Diana’s worst inkling of intuition. After receiving the intelligence, she left her colleagues in record time, hardly needing to excuse herself.

Diana dove through the dark clouds of the night sky and emerged, hurdling rapidly toward a cluster of bestiamorphs with her bracelets crossed over her chest. Her steely gaze bespoke her anger. Her lip curled into a snarl and she squinted as she hurdled closer to the group. She pressed the metal of her divine bracelets together and invoked the power of the Aegis, at once her form was enveloped in a golden gleam, a forcefield of protective power. The union point of the metals sizzled and danced with the holy lightning of Zeus. Like a bowling ball, Diana crashed into the animalistic warriors and, not unlike pins, sent them careening through the air and slamming their bodies against sea cliffs.

At the epicenter of her landing, Diana knelt with one knee planted in a sandy crater. Immediately she rose and began to resist the horde of Circe’s thugs. Flickers of shining gold sparkled in the dark of night as her lasso caught one up and swung his body like a mace into his cohorts. The sight of Amazonian bodies strewn on the sand curbed any mercy she would have shown them.
One pig-faced monster in particular caught her eye, and with a hiss her lasso shot out to capture him. The golden weapon of truth caught around the beast’s neck, and with a sharp jerk, she dragged his body near her –nearly garroting him in the process.

“Tell me where Ares is,” The beast babbled a few unhelpful breathless attempts to speak before she unsheathed the sword at her side and held it menacingly aloft. Before he could answer, a flash and a bang caught her eye. The Watch Tower being blasted apart.
“Found him.” She drove her sword through the monster’s chest and freed her lasso before taking off running to meet her enemy head-on.

In the fiery glow of war’s mayhem, she saw him. Her strong legs pounded the earth faster at the sight. They were heading toward the palace. She would not allow it.

“Ares!!” She screamed before taking off from the ground and hovering in the hot night air.
The glow from fires of destruction all around her illuminated the rage in her features. Her black hair whipped in the storm’s gale.

Superman soared through the skies trailing not far behind Diana. She moved with haste as he and Green Lantern did. The only difference is her home was in trouble. The Justice League scanners picked up the disturbance during their downtime while keeping their 'guest' occupied. He was a colorful individual that Deadshot, all smiles throughout their tactics to interrogate him. Lucky enough for them, they had special beings like J'onn around to sift through the man's mind for the answers they sought. Clark didn't necessarily agree to invading another's mind but when the fate of the world depended on it--there were certain exceptions--that being one of them. His cape flapped through the winds like a banner, balling his fists tighter and accelerating for more speed to keep up with Diana.

He swung his legs forward and paced himself as he lowered down next to Diana battling off Circe's most likely conjured thugs. This wasn't his first rodeo with the sorceress and was bound not to be his last. He knew that. Diana fought valiantly as always and Clark had her back as she commanded to know where Ares was. The next words he heard with his back turned to her was "found him" and a strong turbulence as she blew past him and toward her eternal enemy.
"Circe. I know you're watching so let's skip past the game of hide n' seek. And skip to you coming out to face me." Superman said calmly, his piercing blue eyes scanning the surrounding area around for the witch.

She curled her forefinger as she ordered one of her Beastiamorph soldier's to come forth. It was one of her more 'elite' beasts, one that had proven it's worth in previous battles. Her mystic gaze pierced through the dense forestry from within the Forbidden Island. As expected, parts of the League were showing up. As the Bestiamorph took a knee before her, a stern gaze from his mistress befell him. ❝It seem's we have company, what do you think of that, Mikae?❞ The animorph growled, putting on a ferocious exhibit of it's fangs. ❝Then I think it's best that we hit hard and home for our dear old princess, yes?❞ She spoke with an infantile, yet condescending tone - akin to a goading mother. She curled her forefinger once more, quickly flexing it to draw Lieutenant Mikae even closer. Her pearl white teeth disguised all rot and decay about her soul. ❝Take twenty of our best men here, and see it to it that Hippolyta is herded towards Ares.❞

The witch's face began to gleam as a twisted sense of both malice and appeasement grew apparent. As the squadron of Beastiamorphs took their leave to push Hippolyta towards Ares, the sorceress cased a spell on herself. No longer dressed in purple garbs, but Circe was robed all in scarlet satin and blood velvet, her eyes as red as the great ruby that glistened adorned the top of her corset, as if it too were ablaze like the island of Themyscira. She pulled up her crimson hood, which drank what little light was left of the night. ❝I need but three of you! Who is willing to sacrifice themselves for their goddess, the greatest honour of all!❞ She brought her hand into a fist as three of the animal-men had pushed their way to the front. Her sanguine lips carved their way through her ghostly pale skin as she leered.

She wasted no time as she explained her plan to her soldiers. It was only a matter of time before Circe emerged from the forest of the Forbidden Island, and trekked up the mountainous back of Themyscira. The Beastiamorph's were running after her in pursuit, liked the crazed and savage beats they were. Feigning exhaustion, she threw herself up against one of the many entrances to the inner part of the civilization on the island. It was a large wooden door that danced with flaring oranges and reds from torches that illuminated the outside. She hid her face under hood, but shrieked in terror, ❝Please, help me!❞ Her cold fists bashed against the warmth of the door. Several scouting Amazon's came quick, alert as ever given the seige they were under. It would only stand to reason for them that whomever was being chased by the Bestiamorph's was no friend of Ares or Circe. The fools.

One of the scouts quickly shot three arrows, as another jumped down and stabbed Circe's pursuers. As her rescuers finished off the Bestiamorphs, they came to ask this red clothed lady for her purpose - and if she was one of them. She pulled down her hood to reveal that she had stirring brown eyes, and flowing brown hair. With a high forehead and pointed nose - Circe was the perfect picture of an Amazon. ❝I managed to slay a rogue battalion of the beasts that were planning an attack from behind, however as my fellow soldiers were slain, the remnants began to overpower me and I had to run.❞ The scout nodded, and commended her 'sister's' valiant efforts. They opened the great gates and brought the red clad Circe within the city. She pulled up her hood once more, the glamour fading and returning to her newly found state of vermilion beauty.

She ascended the flight of white stone steps within the inner part of Themyscira. Many of the women were committing to the war effort, many were injured and being taken care for. She allowed a red light to dance between her fingers as she cast a spell to teleport her entire myriad of Bestiamorph's into the very city. Screaming and battle-cries ensued as she continued to walk up the stairs. Not even turning her head back to witness the ongoing battle, she ran her tongue over her teeth with pleasure. As she had drawn closer to the defense around The Temple of the Patrons, she heard a familiar voice. It made her stomach churn as she turned and looked up. None other than the Man of Steel - it had been a while since she last saw him. What a great irony that he now must watch as several Bestiamorph's face the slaughter - some of these men hailing from Metropolis back in 2015. As he called out for her to face him, she turned back towards the defenses of the Temple. Confrontation with Superman was inevitable, especially following what she was about to do.

A large gust of wind knocked down her hood, and her eyes began to glow as if the very ichor of life that flowed through her veins had devoured all life within her. A black ring of light wrapped itself around Circe's wrist, as a torrent of a powerful dark wind smashed the guards of the temple against the wall. The women screamed as the flesh was tore from their bones, silenced by the cackling malevolence that was Circe. She pulled the dark gusts of wind back as she formed her hand's into ball. Black flames emitted from her clasped hands, and but a short moment after, she flicked her hands open. Nothing seemed to happen at first, with several of the Amazon's commanding the others to seize the witch. As they drew close to the gate's entrance infront of the temple, the wall exploded in a dark fire - such power that even in the night, the black fire consumed all hope and life that surrounded it. It was there as a beacon of despair amidst the war, a sign to Ares of her pressing success, and a mark of her own supremacy.

As she lifted the bottom of her dress to rise the final flight, and past the debris of the broken wall - she looked upon all the charred and rotten corpses. Consumed by black magic, it was just but a testament to the power of Circe. Lifting her head up, she gazed at the entrance of the Temple of the Patrons. A magnificent sight to behold - yet it sickened her to the core.

Hippolyta had been leading the charge against the forces of Ares-Circe coalition. It was only a matter of time before those two allied over mutual interests. God or not, they would suffer for daring to attack the sacred island of Themyscira, that was symbolic of the potential of a universal peace. This was a grave insult casted by the God of War, but he would pay.

The witch was nowhere to be sighted, but was without a doubt responsible for the dark fog that choked the night. But this was Hippolyta's domain, and she ruled the ground that they strode on - she knew it like it was her own child, as would many of the other Amazons. "Antiope, you're our last line of defense, protect the city at all costs." She commanded as her sister rode off within the walls of Themyscira. She raised her sword as her purple cape danced in the wind. "Come, my sisters! Let us reclaim what is ours!" Her, and many of her best women followed her into the heat of war. The arrival of her dear daughter, Diana, inspired the Amazon's exponentially. She offered a kind smile to her daughter as she called out the War god.

Countless dark soldiers and beastiamorph's attempted to lay waste to Hippolyta, but she was not deterred. Striking back with such a force that it would echo in legend for Themyscira. Hordes fell before her might, her rule was absolute and these trespasser's were to feel the wrath of a queen scorned. Several large Bestiamorph's approached her from the West. "Hippolyta... I'll rend the flesh from your bones!" The beast screeched. She clenched her teeth in defiance as she valiantly duelled the large Bestiamorph. It had to have been one of Circe's leading figures, it's defeat would be a substantial victory in the tide of this battle - so Hippolyta was determined. They traded blows, the strength of the beast forced the queen into defense as she was pushed further east. The calls of her sisters to return fell of deaf ears, as she landed a blow on the creatures neck. A clean cut, and it's head rolled from it's shoulders. She lifted up it's skull, presenting it to all surrounding Beastiamorph's. "A fate that awaits you all, vermin! She cried out. She couldn't help but notice that even in the dark of the night, a large shadow was soon cast over her - as if a blot of darkness consumed the moon. She turned, and faced the large looming figure that was the God of War. Donned from head to toe in an unmistakably dark armour. He radiated despair, and all things foul. Two crimson orbs emanated from within his helmet. As a large explosion of dark fire within Themyscira almost brought the battlefield to a silence - she realised that this was a set up. Circe's presence of the field was the sacrifice of her leading Bestiamorph, in an effort to push her towards the War God. Even gripped with fear, Hippolyta held onto her sword - in defiance of the cowardice that Ares would want from an Amazon in their last moments.

The Queen of the Amazon was as deadly as she had ever been. A sight that was all to pleasing to Ares and a comforting thought to know that even after all of these years, her skills had not been dulled in the slightest. Now though, he towered over the woman whose people had so disgusted over the course of centuries with their hypocritical message of love. "Greetings Hippolyta." Was all that he said before launching his foot forward against the woman's mid drift sending her sprawling across the tiled floor of the city that their forces now fought in. Calmly, he walked after, a black sword gripped in hand.

"Centuries I have longed for this. To see Paradise Island ablaze and my sister, dear Aphrodite's work in ruins, I've not had such enjoyment since the Fall of Troy. " Ares's voice carried across the din of battle with ease, his loathing evident. An amazon sought to protect her queen, lunging forward to stab at him with a spear. Ares smacked the spear away with the flat face of his sword and proceed to stab the blade forward, the tip punching through the back of the woman's helmet. He pulled the sword back, stepping over the dead body. "Too long have you and your kind been a thorn in my side, ever since that accursed child of yours took up the blade. "

A pair of warriors crossed blades before him, the Amazon and Beast locked in the a brawl to the death. Ares cut them both down, uncaring for the lives of his own men. Such creatures should have known not to get in his way. He was nearly upon the Amazon Queen now. Murder lust evident in his dark red eyes.. "I can sense her, even now. She comes to save you all and yet she will find that she is too late.

While the very presence of Circe’s beasts gave away that she had a hand in this fray, her presence was not made known to Diana until the undulating miasma of black fire rose from the direction of the newly blasted open temple. Suddenly, it became perfectly clear to Diana where their real target was, and how their purposes had finally united in this gruesome endeavor.

“The Temple of the Patrons…”
All at once, Diana saw Ares for what he really was in that moment. A ruse. A distraction. An agent of chaos meant to divide the attention of her honorable people; Women far too noble to predict such treachery and cowardice from others. If an Amazon wanted something, she would run in and take it without trickery.

“You cowards,”
Diana breathed, barely audible in the night air which roared with the dun of fire and battle. She lunged forward through the sky with all the speed the gift of Hermes could provide. Circe, the common burglar, had to be stopped. That was the new and urgent directive.

Suddenly, Diana halted at the sight of her mother amidst the crowd. The Beastiamorph forces were pushing her back, and though she fought with all the indomitable bravery of an Amazon queen, she was still being inched ever closer to Ares. Diana put the pieces together only just before Hyppolyta herself realized what was happening. As Ares kick sent her mother flying, Diana dove to her defense.

“Mother!”
Ares was advancing, his sword drawn. He’d already made short work of the fearless Amazon who leapt in his way to defend Hyppolyta’s dazed and prostrated form. A noble death, in Diana’s estimation.

“Not my mother, Ares!” Diana cried out with a voice vicious with rage. With a sharp jerk of her wrist she pulled off her tiara and sent it whipping toward the hand that held his weapon in the hopes of disarming him, or at least breaking his focus ahead of her attack. It gave a shuddering metallic noise as it baffled through the air. She was well aware that every second she remained to fight this battle with Ares, her people came closer to losing the war with Circe. She and Ares were closer to getting what they came for, but Diana couldn’t leave Hyppolyta.
She landed between the prone form of the Amazon queen and the merciless god of war, her sword at the ready.

“You let Circe use you as a distraction. And here I thought Circe had enough mindless pets.

The third and last Justice League member to appear on the scene, Hal soared through the skies in an emerald jet construct. He didn't need it but it'd make for great style points down the road. Bringing the jet down hard, he'd descend right over head a grouping of Bestiamorphs, raining bright green missiles down upon them before lifting back up into the air for another go around. Using his skills as an ace pilot, he effortlessly weaved through the air and as he made away back towards his intended target, he began to expand the jet, using several extra constructs to expand the first until it was a large mass structure comparable to that of a jumbo jet. From within, Hal formed a concentrated barrier of energy before he crashed the construct into a large gathering of Circe's evil army. With the barrier still intact, Hal remained safe only letting it fall when he saw that for the most part, they were all incapacitated. "Thank you for flying at Jordan Air." He joked to no one but himself.
