 Despite it still feeling new and relatively strange, Kimya had actually been apart of the Nergui for a while now. Since meeting them in the rogue lands, she had traveled with them to their new sandy home near the ruins. She had been spending days interacting with those who looked the least likely to attack her for fun, as well as trying to learn the language of the Nergui. She had made herself some acquaintances, some of which may turn into friends once she got to know them better. While there were certainly some lions and lionesses she was too nervous about approaching until she had better established herself within the pride, she was happy that she had started reaching out and making connections within the pride with other lions. The other alternatives were much less appealing.
The first one was, naturally, not to reach out to anyone at all. Kimya had joined the pride for companionship (and to satisfy her inner savage spirit) so that option was out. The other... Was to speak with the other species allowed in the pride: hyenas. With jaws and teeth that could splinter bone with one bite, Kimya had been doing her best to stay out of the ways of any Nergui hyena she had seen in her vicinity. She didn't know why they were allowed to stay, but she didn't have much inclination to ask them or to go near them at all, really.
If the Nergui did face some sort of fight that would involve the pride in the unseen future, would the hyenas fight with them? Or would they turn around and start attacking from the inside? Based on the stories Kimya heard as a cub, she wouldn't be surprised if the latter was the more likely of the two. She just hoped she wouldn't have to be around to witness it.DavyJnah Feel free to have Vsevolod bump into her or something. She's just kind of wandering around the ruins on her own at the moment.

 Vsevolod had been learning the new language and spending a lot of time with the hyena Eerin. She had been kind of teaching him the language and slowly the pair had been getting close. Though he was still sometimes cautious of lions, one on one he would be fine if he was fast otherwise he could be in trouble. Though Vse didn't think he was going to have too much to worry about here. Regarding the savagry the Nergui had there weren't too many fights between the lions and hyenas. Mates was a little bit of a different story.
He had been around sands before and actually this particular place in his travels. So to come here again was actually kind of nice. As he wandered he noticed a lioness almost to late as he sidestepped quickly to get out of her way.
"Sorry," then saying it in the local language, "Surrae. (Sorry)"

You can imagine Kimya's surprise when she had been thinking just then about hyenas and how she had been making a point of giving them their space, when she looked up at a voice and found one veering sharply away from her, missing her by a few inches. Bristling reflexively, she stepped quickly back, only just processing the apology in two different tongues.
"Wait..." She paused, her ears perked with cautious interest. "You... You speak the... the..." She didn't know what to call it. She knew the Nergui language was referred to as the common tongue, but had no notion to what they called the language of outsiders. She paused, realizing that that was probably exactly what they called it and asked in that language. "The language of the outsiders-the, the rogues?"
She was cautious, but she was so ready to be relieved, if this hyena said yes. Forget about his species (assuming it was a he, she really didn't spend that much time around hyenas to be able to tell, nor would she want to check) she just needed someone to talk with normally! And not in the disdainful manner that the Kaar, Ngozi, had spoken with her in. Oh, what a relief it would be to find another rogue to relate to!

The male hyena looked at her for a moment and processed the look of shock on her face. Seemed she was just as cautious of the other kind among the Nergui as he was. He moved in a way so that he could get into a better position in case he needed to do anything.
"I do. I officially joined this group after a time of wandering with them. Still learning the language, its a bit rough. Have a wonderful female who is helping me out." She was a different kind of female that was for sure. "Are you a recent member too?

Kimya had to keep her body from going limp with relief when she found a native speaker of the language she had grown up with. Instead, she just let relief show on her face and suddenly a babble of all the words she had been wanting to tell someone who understood her came out at once.
"Oh thank goodness!" She purred with relief. "I'm so glad to hear that. Yes, I'm new to the pride too. I joined somewhere in the rogue lands, drawn in by the sounds of fighting and upon closer inspection everything just seemed to... fit together? I guess? I feel like I belong here, but at the same time, it's been pretty hard to fit in. Learning a new language is tough enough, but then there are the actual pride members who are about as rough as the language, if you know what I mean." She stumbled a little. "Oh, well, I don't mean any offense, of course." She said, glancing around the surrounding area as though a Nergui member would leap at her for such words.
"But well, it's just... It's nice to meet someone who's in the same position as I am, you know?" She was practically beaming at the hyena now and she stepped closer with a grin on her face and light in her eyes. "I'm Dhoruba Kimya, but you can call me Kimya, if you wish. What is your name? And how did you come to be apart of the Nergui, if you don't mind me asking."

The hyena had to agree, there were some pretty rough pride members he had noticed. Then again he had been assaulted during the little battle by an unknown rogue after his win against that lion. The deepest darkest parts of him reveled here and it was a place that was growing on him each and every day. Though he was always still cautious of the lions of the pride.
"I did too!" Something they had in common. "I fought a lion during this fighting thing they were doing and won." he felt the rush of adrenaline just thinking about it and snapped his powerful jaws together. "It was so invigorating. I am a Nohoi, so I guess I am a similar rank as you?" Vse noted after the moment passed.
Oh how rude of him not introducing himself! "Vsevolod, at your service. Nice to meet you Kimya."

"Really?" So he had joined the same time that she did! She must have mistaken him for an old member, considering she didn't recall seeing him stand out to her. Then again, she had been so absorbed in the fighting and she only remembered a few faces when she joined the hoard. Everyone else sort of blurred together. Still... "That's awesome!"
"Oh, I know! I joined because I wanted to taste that-to be able to claim some of that honor for myself!... I haven't had the chance to do that just yet, but we're the Nergui, right? Supposedly I'll get the chance." She smiled at that and shrugged with one shoulder before the matter of rank came up. "I think that's how it was explained to me, yeah. I'm a Shuko, see? I guess that's like one of the fighters, except we're more stealth based. The higher ups took one look at my coat and put me here, not that I'm complaining, sneakiness is my best quality. Unless you count my prize-winning personality." She laughed at that, though she wasn't sure why. It wasn't as though she was a lioness of bad temper, she just got shy sometimes. She hoped the joke, if it could be called that, wouldn't make a bad impression. At any rate...
"Pleasure to meet you as well, Vsevo... Vsevolod, was it? That'll be one that'll take me a while to pronounce!" She said with a grin. "So,"
She began, "What're you doing all the way out here?"

The notable hyena laugh filled the air as he gave her a grin. It was actually a bit off setting from a hyena to a lion but he wasn't going to hurt her. Not like he had with his opponent than fateful day he had decided to join. At least the lions could have other ranks other than Nohoi. Which was the only rank a hyena could take. Not that he super cared, he would fight just as well as any of the others.
"Vsevolod yes. You can call me Vse if you please." The male watched her, the laughing fit having left his body now. "Me? Just wandering. Surverying the land. Seeing who might be coming and going and if there is anyone suspicious." Not that he had really seen anyone who might fit the bill but there was bound to be at least some trouble lurking somewhere.

When the hyena broke out into a harsh fit of laughter, Kimya took a few steps back, daunted by the surprising noise. It hurt her ears and she bristled. Laughing as much as he was, it was easy to spy his shining teeth for all to see.
Teeth that could snap through bone. She thought with a shudder, before finally, he stopped. She watched him with wariness in her eyes. While he didn't seem like he would hurt her and that he was instead quite friendly, his laughter had shaken up the quiet lioness. She had rarely come across others who were so loud.
"Vse it is then." She said, deciding to not think badly of him for his sudden outburst and perking her ears politely. "Wandering? Oh, well, it seems as though we may be in the same boat then!"" She gave him a more cautious smile as she asked. "If it's all the same to you, might we go wandering together? I rather enjoy you're company." And it was true. Even with the fright he had given her, she still wanted to get to know him. Maybe, if she was lucky, they might even become friends. Wouldn't that be a thought!DavyJnah I'll leave you to finish it!
