Ethelfleade post 1

Ragged breathing didn't stop the girl from pushing herself to her limits. Her body rejected the kind of strain and stress she was putting it through, she never realized just how out of shape she had gotten in her travels. No matter what, she couldn't stop. Ethelfleade kept telling herself that, especially since she could still hear angry feet chasing her.

So maybe she had gone a little overboard. So maybe Oba wasn't exactly the place to be bashing on the obans. So maybe that matori she thought was her friend and would stand and fight with her would do no such thing.

She might have sighed if she had the time. Tired legs protested with each and every step and each one seemed to be harder to take than the last. The ice woman had no idea how far she had actually run so far but with her pursuers still in tow meant that she would keep on going as far as she could. Maybe all the way back to Zena if that's what it took!!

(I figure start it off with her running and your post could contain how Keel observed the situation. I figure she pissed off a group of 3-4 ish oban men and in her next post she'll probably trip and fall down something.) <3

Keelthy post 1

Keelthy was topping a sheltered rise when he noticed a commotion below. A woman from the ice tribe running from two incensed Obans. Now what on earth was going on? He tilted his head at the spectacle, trying to figure it out. She looked tired too, like she had been running for quite some time. He didn’t know what to think or what to do. So he watched as they came closer to where he was sort of hiding on the ridge line.

Half of him wanted to roll his eyes and continue on his way, the other half was awfully curious as to the why of this situation. So he sidled down the cliff face after they passed and trailed the pack, speeding up as they got further away from him.

Fleade post 2

It was inevitable. The ice woman knew she couldn't press her luck as much as she had. There would be no getting away from this group without some kind of ‘punishment’. What she hadn't known was the form in which it would come in. Her tired feet started to tangle up with each other and soon she felt herself tilting and beginning to fall. She tried to correct herself as she couldn't afford to fall with the dangerous terrain that was around her. Fleade over corrected though, and fell to her left and rolled before falling down a steep hill. Where you would expect the ground to be soft and sandy it wasn't. When Fleade hit the bottom of the hill, her head hit hard rock and she fell unconscious. The group chasing her stood atop the hill and watched for a couple of minutes watching for any movement. Once they were satisfied, they turned and walked away, joking and jovial as if nothing had happened. There was likely at least one broken bone somewhere and a lot of sore muscles. It would be a long road to recovery.

Keelthy post 2

Keelthy blew through the mob, and for a minute or so he thought they had killed her. “Where is she what have you done with her?” He yelled, both knives out of his pockets. The group laughed and pointed behind them. He snarled at them, wanting to rip them apart as he had never wanted to do to anyone before and kept going, he might be able to help her.

He followed the tracks and peered down the cliff. Gods, she was dead. He had been too late, he turned to go and commit murder, they had pushed a woman off a cliff. But something prevented him from going, instead he turned back to look at her and slid down the embankment. At her side he felt her forehead, hot from her running then placed two fingers at her delicate throat. A pulse! What could he do for her now? Cool her down right? He took a canteen and a cloth and wet it. Still crouching he placed the cloth on her forehead. Overheating here was a real risk, and she may not be used to the temperatures from where she was from. “Oh Bella, what did you get yourself into?”

He was unsure what to do, if she woke she would think him one of her attackers would she not? Not for the first time he wished himself not an oban, though he had to admit he was beautiful. But he could have been a beautiful something else too right?

Fleade post 3

The cool cloth on her forehead roused her slightly from her unconscious state though not entirely. “I’m sorry... I’m sorry….” she muttered as her body moved slightly but eyes were still closed. She was taken back to Neued. Back to when they were attacked and her mentor was killed. She ran then too instead of fighting. Fleade would never forget that event, it was engraved in her mind.

Her eyes fluttered open as she got to the spot in which she was dropped off in the camp. Eyes widened as she took in keelthy’s face. She hadn't escaped them. One had stayed behind to finish the job. “No...no…” Fleade tried to twist and scramble to her knees but only managed to get onto her side before her body curled in itself in pain. A cry came from her as she clenched her eyes shut. Body tightened with the pain as she lost consciousness once again.

Keelthy post 3

She was injured more than he thought. There was nothing for it now but to take her home, if anyone in that blasted house had a problem with it, he would leave forever. He arranged his supplies better and knelt again to scoop the ice woman up into his arms. He had never carried a woman like this before, and he couldn’t help the tender pang in his heart at the motion. He shook his head, really, he was getting too sentimental.

He took his time on the way back, he didn’t want to drop her and he was more lean muscle then bulk like his brother. Big swords and what not needed more muscle to maintain then little dance daggers.

He walked right into the house ignoring the titters and maidly comments. He went directly to his room, and laid her out on his bed. She looked odd there. He had never had a woman here before..or a man for that matter. He placed water by the table and went down staisr to prepare food for her himself. Fruits, veggies, bread and cheese if she woke. He doubted she would eat but the evidence would be there that he wasn’t trying to starve her. She was going to panic anyway.

Ethelfleade post 4

The injured woman fluttered in and out of consciousness on their journey. She woke up enough times to notice they were still in oba and that the one who had come to the bottom of the hill was the one who had her now. Ethelfleade was too weak and injured to fight so she did what she could to remember anything she saw when she did open her eyes.

It wouldn't be another day or so when she finally woke for good. She lay frozen on...a bed? Her fingers tentatively felt below her and she resisted a wince, her right arm definitely seemed broken. It would make it hard to use her blades with being right hand dominant. Her blades. She tried to sit up but found herself unable to as pain erupted from her ribs.

Her head swiveled around to take in her surroundings. A single room, from what she could see. She noticed the water and food located nearby but even if she could move she likely wouldn't eat it. Fleade grunted as she forced herself up with her left arm and she sat on the edge of the bed panting from that small effort.

Keelthy post 4

Keelthy peered around the door. Gods she was awake! Now what? He had been hoping for this, he would have felt absolutely terrible if she hadn’t of made it but he found himself completely unprepared. What should he do? Talk? Run? Hide? Where, she was in his room he had nowhere to hide.

“Can I uh, can I get you anything?” He watched her with wide eyes. Preparing for her to throw something at him. He had left her her blades. There was nothing better to give trust then to leave a warrior their weapons and she didn’t exactly have eating knives either, she was so much a warrioress.

Ethelfleade post 5

Just as her eyes located her swords at the end of the bed, she heard a voice. Her head snapped towards the doorway with such force some hair fell into her face making her look even more like a crazy woman. Her swords were on her right side and out of arms reach, she would have to lurch to the side to reach them and in doing so likely injure her arm more which wouldn't be ideal.

Eyes turned cold as she stared him down. “Who are you and what do you want with me?” If he was strong enough to carry her any distance she likely couldn't take him with one hand. Fleade looked around to try and see what she could get to easily, it wasn't much.

Keelthy post 5

“My name is Keelthy and I want nothing from you, you can leave anytime you want, every possession you have on you when those folks pushed you down that cliff is in this room. Your welcome to the food.” He turned to go but paused. “How do you feel?” He hated himself for asking, she obviously didn’t want to talk, even someone who wasn’t an expert at reading body language would know she wanted him to buzz off.

“I’m not with them, I saw you running an followed out of curiosity of all things. A quirk of mine that I have not been able to get rid of. You were unconscious when I found you, I brought you here to take care of you. Now you are awake and seemingly alright, well for the most part.”

Ethelfleade post 6

Anyone would be able to tell that she didn't trust him. That she didn't really believe a single word that he said. All of it mostly being because he was oban. Her eyes narrowed at him, it did seem like she had everything she had before. So she knew that was true but didn't want to even think he could actually be telling the truth.

The tension in her body eased for a moment, partially because she couldn't stand the pain anymore. She found herself falling back onto the bed. It was rather comfortable. Fleade eyed the man that was at the door. He didn't make any move to invade the room even though fleade had an idea that the room was his. “How do I feel?...” She hesitated. The man...Keelthy….had already seen her fall and transported her here so he likely already knew of her condition. “I feel like I got into a wrestling match with a mammu….”

Keelthy post 6
He smiled at her, despite his best efforts. “Well in that case your looking good. I’ll make sure no one disturbs you, this house is full of snoopy people. Yes Reillan I mean you, go away.” He heard a chuckle around the corner and his brother’s fading footsteps. “

“Rest if it pleases my lady, I will find things to do elsewhere but closeby if you need me.”

He turned and pushed his brother, who was magically still there but out of sight of the girl the rest of the way down the hallway. “You will leave her alone you beast.” He smirked at Reill. “Pretty ain’t she?” His brother replied that he hadn’t had the chance to see her. Keel smiled. “Good, now scoot.”

Ethelfleade post 7
This oban was quite perplexing. First he maybe kind of saved her from that ditch….now he was offering her food, water...rest. Fleade resisted shaking her head in disbelief. No oban could be that nice, it just didn't happen. No one from a race that enslaved an entire race for who knew how long and tried to do so to her own home couldn't be nice people...could they?

She thought she heard another voice down the hall which was only confirmed by her captors words. She was trapped in an entire oban household! Fleade knew with that realization that she'd likely never be allowed to leave. She'd be a pet as that other oban wanted to make her….Saraf.

A plan would be needed as she had before to escape. Though she doubted there would be any really important people here. Nor could she attempt anything in the condition she was currently in. Fleade would bide her time until the perfect moment. Until then, her head turned away from the doorway he had disappeared behind. Maybe now she would sleep. She was already vulnerable, she didn't think she could get any more so.
(Feel free to have him come and wake her up for like a dr to set her arm or something lol)

Keelthy post 7

Keelthy set about making preparations for his reluctant guest. This reminded him of a few old Oban tales about snatching women but at least his was with good intentions. She was quite injured after all. He got a hold of a doctorly cousin, who stopped by as soon as her rounds let her. This Oban female would be the only one he would let in to see the girl, woman, whichever.

Keelthy poked his head into her room healer in tow. “Ahem, uh the healer is here, I promis she means you no harm, but we can’t let that arm heal all crooked, I know how important both hands are to people who wield the dual blades.” He himself did after all, though they were miniature versions.
He led Songla in and she asked some questions about pain level and if the iceling would let her touch the wound, she promised to be gentle.

Ethelfleade post 8

Fleade narrowed her eyes at her would be captor. But still allowed the woman to come and sit on the bed next to her. The oban had a point. Her arm needed attention or she could lose the use of it as a blade wielding arm. She played off her pain level, she wasn't about to let them know how weak she was.

When it came to setting her arm, she clenched her teeth and stared at the door with a hard gaze. She willed away the tears that began to form as the woman bound her arm tightly to a splint. When she was done, Fleade let out a small sigh. “Thank you.” She said quietly to the healer.
