Slowing to a stop Yukio Beck looks down to find a set of hoof prints so he decides to follow them. Having nothing better to do today he might as well see who he can find since they might become a Friend or a Foe. Either way, it’ll be good to continue to test himself and how much of his confidence he’s gained back since he meet Sleet. Once he finds a second set of hoof prints he decides that he’ll be cautious when he finds them while still open minded to want to greet them. By the time he gets to a stream he realizes that they walked through the stream to the other side. Making his way through the water he decides that it feels so good on his tired legs that he stops halfway through. While laying down he tries his best not to slip and fall since it’s been a while since he took the time to rest. He’s come so far in the past few days since he hasn’t meet anyone else so he didn’t have any real reason to stop for too long. Now that he’s found hoof prints he’s sure he’ll catch up with Sleet either tomorrow or the day after since he’ll need a day to rest. While fluffing up his feathers he wonders if one of the hoof prints is Sleet’s since they have so much to tell each other. If not, he’s sure that he’ll be just as happy to meet and talk with them since he feels much more social than when they began their journey.

(I haven't gotten his cert yet, but I'm pretty sure I requested it. Will need to check) A stallion had been watching quietly from the sidelines, and hummed, making his way up the riverbank a little ways before he found what he was looking for. When he came back, the great purple stallion bore the ending of a branch off an apple tree, four apples of varying size mixed in among the green. He cleared his throat at the edge of vision, standing patiently until he was noticed. "You seem tired. I thought perhaps you might be hungry, as well." He stood patiently, muscles quite still but what was necessary to move. As he breathed, his markings seemed to pulse like the stuffing in a Kailani doll that had broken on the rocks, and his red eyes had an eerie sort of calm to them.

After hearing someone clear his throat he decides to look up to see who wandered near him. Hoping that they might want to stay around a while to talk or if he didn’t prefer to talk Yukio Beck would be fine with that. It’s been a while since he was near another that he’s sure he’ll enjoy the company of this stranger. While looking up he finds an eerie sort of calm in his eyes which makes him feel calm and comfortable near him. Yukio Beck listens while the other talks which explains why he has an apple branch in his mouth. Looking closely at the branch he sees four apples and realizes that he is hungry. Then looking up he smiles, “Thank you for walking over to see if I’m alright? Also, thank you for bringing some apples over since I didn’t realize how hungry I was until I saw them.” While getting up to reach for the apples he doesn’t realize how tired he really is. As he stands up completely his legs shiver as if threatening to collapse if he didn’t lower himself back into the stream. Before he had the chance to do anything his hooves slip as he fluffs his feathers up to twice their size from shock. Flapping his wings several times he slows his fall enough to land without really hurting his legs. Blushing he looks up, “My legs tried to warn me how tired I was, though, I wasn’t quick enough to lay back down.”

Roderick nodded, setting the applebranch on the riverbank and picking his way into the water to offer himself as a balance. The water was cool on his hooves, and he certainly didn't mind. "Come on, then. There's a shallower bank that way we can get up if legwork's not your specialty today." He meant it as a joke and smiled to emphasize this while he sidled up along the other horse. "Just take it slow, don't wanna scuff your knees."

Looking over he blushes when he hears the joke since he’s not used to them and isn’t sure how he would respond. So instead he decides to thank him while smiling to show that he understands it was meant as a joke and that there are no hard feelings here. Yet, he also has no idea how feelings can be hard since there are just things that he doesn’t understand. “Thank you, it’s kind of you to walk over to help me over to the shallow part of the stream. With the sides slanted slightly it was easier for me to get in because my legs were working well enough then. Though, getting to the edge or even out would have been impossible if you weren’t here to help me.” Blushing even more, “Of course, if I knew I was going to have trouble getting up I would have stayed near that side of the stream to cool off. That way I could lay in the water while resting my head on dry land while I rested enough so that I could get up.” While remembering what happened he explains, “I’m not so sure how far I’ll be able to get even with help, though, I can always try while trying not to scuff up any part of me.” Lightly laughing he feels like the apple branch and a stranger helping him should be enough of a motivator to get him closer to the edge or so he hopes. With a nod he agrees, “I’ll go as fast as I can because my fastest at this moment will be rather slow so I hope you don’t mind.” He waits for him to respond before he does anything while remembering that he never introduced himself, “I’m Yukio Beck and it’s nice to meet you.”

The purple stallion tilted his head and smiled. "Names Roderick, it's a pleasure." He'd already felt a couple rocks try to land him on his gut and shook his head to ruffle out his stubby mane some. "Take your time. The riverbed's slick and easily tripped upon. You can rest a wing on my back if it would help in a slip, and we can stop in the shallows and eat so you can regain your strength. Sound good?"

He bows his head before smiling up at Roderick, “Thank you so much for helping me and understanding. Since they really are slippery and they weren’t helpful when my legs collapsed under me because they helped me to fall quicker.” Nodding his head, “Resting my wing on your back, eating, and regaining my strength sound like brilliant ideas. Since I realize now that if I didn’t rest often I didn’t stop often which means I didn’t eat often. So it’s no surprise that my legs refuse to hold my weight after I forgot to rest and eat as often as I should have.” Moving his wings he makes sure that he’s ready in case he does slip again as he slowly begins to stand. As he slowly raises himself from the water he moves his right wing down until it rests on Roderick’s back. Seeing as the higher he gets the more his legs shiver under him and the more likely he’ll slip and fall back into the water. With his wing on Roderick’s back he slowly moves closer to him to lean against him since he’s sure Roderick won’t mind since he is taking the time to help him. Now leaning against and having his wing on Roderick’s back he feels more comfortable with trying to get to the shallow water.

Roddy nodded and tucked his head under the stallion's in case he needed to catch a fall, waiting until he was comfortable with making it towards the shallows, and making sure he was positioned comfortably either in the shallows or on the shore, before he went for the apples again and settled next to the other stallion. "It's good to meet you. May I just call you Yukio? You can call me Roddy." He shrugged, humming. "You should mind your health a little better."

Yukio Beck was more than grateful when Roderick tucked his head under so that he could help him further is he did fall again. By the time they reached the shallows Roderick had helped him to lay down in the cool water feeling more than comfortable. He bowed his head before he spoke, “Likewise, I don’t let anyone call me by half of my first name, though, I have grown rather fond of you. As well as grown much more comfortable with my name being shorted so if you want to call me Yukio or Beck you are welcome to do so. And if you would rather be called Roddy I will happily call you Roddy.” Yukio Beck smiles as he shrugged then started humming which calmed him further. “Yes, I was doing a good job with minding my health up until those days then I sort of forgot. I’m just so excited to meet up with Sleet that I just forgot to take better care of myself. So I am truly grateful that you came over to help me because I obviously need help for a few hours. That is if you don’t mind helping me for that long and or longer to make sure I really am alright."

Roddy shrugged. "If you WANNA call me Roderick, go for it. Roddy's just easier. Feels more friendly." He climbed the bank to fetch the apples and returned with them, offering Yukio first pick of the produce. "Can't ignore your stomach for long. It's not hard to find food along the way, especially if you're not picky." He shrugged and let his own legs fold in the shallows so he could rest with Yukio. "Legs are a little easier to ignore. The water feels good."

Smiling he replies, “I’m fine with either or so I’ll call you Roddy from now on and you can call me Yukio from now on.” Looking at the wonderful apples he picks the two closest to him and slowly nibbles at the one so he can still talk between bites. “That’s very true and now that I am remembering the things around me I can remember that I passed more than enough food on my way here. As far as I know I’m not that picky that I would have just passed by food for any reason. Well, as long as it’s fresh that is because once it’s died I would probably pass right by to find something a bit fresher to eat.” After finishing the first apple he nods in agreement then thinks of something. Before he starts nibbling at the second apple he says out of curiosity, “I think we are acquaintances by now and hope that we can become friends sooner or later. I know we just meet, though, you are very friendly, kind, generous, and helpful so I could imagine you making friends somewhat easily.” As he waits for Roddy to reply he happily nibbles at the second apple whishing he had several more because apples are one of his favorite foods.

Roddy smiled gently, tilting his head to raise the other apples. "Go on, then. have your fill." He murmured it around the branch, apparently accustomed to talking with this mouth full. "You meet your shore, when you're not staring only at your hooves. Some are good, some aren't." He tossed a wry grin at his new friend. "Some don't mind their own health on their quests."

Nodding his head Yukio Beck takes the last two apples before looking at Roddy to ask, “Have you ever been so excited to see someone that you just forgot to take better care of yourself?” Shaking his head he thinks out loud, “No, I feel like you would do a better job at remembering to rest, eat, and drink enough.” Nodding his head he goes on, “It’s just that it’s been so long since I saw Sleet and I am more than excited to catch up with him to catch up on what’s happened while we were separated from each other.” Motioning to the two tracks he explains, “The tracks I was following seem new enough which means that whoever made them must still be in the area somewhere. If it is Sleet I know I am close enough that I don’t have to worry about catching up with him any longer. Though, even if Sleet isn’t around I’m going to take the time to rest, eat, and drink more often because Sleet wouldn’t want me to be tired when we do meet again.” Looking around he smiles happily before asking, “What do you think about this area? I find it to be rather calming and the apples around here taste so good that I wish I had some more. Though, I wouldn’t want to trouble you to get anymore because four will do for now. I’m rather interested in getting to know more about you because I’m not in any rush to go anywhere.”

Roddy chuckled. "Rare is the beast I have so cared for and seen so rarely." He chuckled over at his new friend. "Just remember to eat when your belly whines and rest when your knees quake. You will certainly get there no faster dead and crow-feed." Roddy chuckled, blowing on his new friend's mane teasingly. "Don't go swimming. I'll be back in a moment." He stood and shuffled up the bank, glancing back as though afraid Yukio might try to wade into the water while he was up. The bulky stallion took a few minutes before coming back, his vibrant reddish-pink scarf loaded with a weight of apples he balanced delicately in the fold, before sitting beside the tired wanderer again, arching out one split hoof'd foreleg to keep the apples from wandering downstream. "That should tide us over for a bit, yes?" He cast his friend a smile.

Yukio Beck nods his head a few times feeling more than embarrassed seeing as he didn’t make a very good first impression when they meet seeing as he didn’t rest enough, eat enough, and or drink enough. Though, when Roddy blows on his mane his mane isn’t sure what’s going on and decides to curl up on itself from the bottom up unsure what to think about what happened of course Yukio Beck really doesn’t know how to react. Almost giggling he looks up while wondering what’s going on seeing as Sleet’s never done anything like that and he feels rather sure that it’s not a Brotherly thing. Which means he really has no idea what it could mean and decides not to ask about it because he’s not sure if he wants to know what’s going on other than its new and interesting enough. After Roddy told him not to go swimming he looks up at him sort of hurt seeing as he knows better than to move much know that he knows how much he needs to rest. While he walks away Yukio Beck lowers his head as his mane wraps around his neck to try comforting him. By the time he can hear Roddy coming back Yukio Beck quickly lifts his head as he smiles while he wonders what they can talk about as his mane unwraps itself from his neck. Of course, before he changes the subject he bows his head before thanking him, “Thank you, Roddy, it was kind of you to get more apples.” Looking them over he smiles brightly, “It looks like enough for the time being so is there anything you want to talk about?” While eating he thinks about the scarf that Roddy has and after he eats two apples he lifts his head while asking out of curiosity, “Did someone give you that scarf or did you always have it with you?”
