Age: 36
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Weyr: Travelling
Rider Rank: Rider
Previous Rank/Craft: Journeyman Starcrafter
Physical Description: Anneila has light red hair that is straight and long. Her skin is fair and freckled. Her eyes are a bright, light ocean blue. She has a petite stature and is below average height.
Personality: Flighty and spontaneous, Anneila is a bit of a commitment-phobe. She hates staying in one place, and gets nervous when she starts thinking even a turn ahead. She doesn't like to ever be committed to something if another opportunity comes up. She doesn't get bogged down by worries and is extremely flexible to change. If something comes up that she or her kids or friends wants to do, she never minds dropping her plans in order to make it work. Though possessed of an excellent memory, Anneila is remarkably forgetful at times.
Her one love in the world, besides her family and Xaroth, is starcraftng. She has an enthusiasm for the art that is contagious and will talk about it for hours on end. She simply doesn't understand how anyone could not find it fascinating. She is a friendly, fast-talking, excitable woman who loves more than good company and conversation. Though occasionally overly informal, she has a passion and dedication to her craft that makes it easy to be forgiving.
As a parent, Anneila is a little irresponsible. She loves her children dearly and would do anything to protect them, but she has some pretty radical ideas on parenting. She was never willing to compromise what she wanted to do in life to give her children a more stable home. She was of the mindset that the best thing she could do for them was teach them to never give up on their dreams. She also doesn't believe in lying to children, whether to get them to behave or try to shield them from something. She has always been straight with her kids, as she is with everyone else, and doesn't hide her emotions from them.

History: Anneila's parents were migrant workers, with no craft of their own. They went wherever the money was, and so would often be gone for large parts of the turn. When they were, Anneila was sent to live with her grandfather, who tended a lighthouse. The man was a former ship hand, craftless himself, h'who'd been given the job as a kind of retirement after his many turns off service rendered him too old and informed to continue his work. An amateur starcrafter, she used to fall asleep on his lap beneath the stars as he told her their names and explained the beautiful cosmic dance of the orbiting bodies.
Though illiterate for much of her childhood, Anneila showed a penchant for mathematics and spacial reasoning and incredible memory. Her grandfather first discovered this when he found her tracking the trajectories of distant ships, and drawing detailed maps of her stars that she had learned by heart. Yet it seemed like Anneila would be resigned to the lead the same life as her parents, until her grandfather gave them all a shock. Unknown to even her parents, he had been saving up small amounts over time from what he made, so that they might one day have enough to send her to be trained at a hall.
They were able to provide enough for her to stay at Hold with friends, where Anneila could take lessons for several turns before she would go to a Hall. Her skill with numbers soon showed itself again, and the Hold's Harper recommended her for Starcrafting, fortunate, since this is what Anneila had her heart set on doing since her grandfather told her that such a craft existed. Anneila was sent to the Southern Continent to study, and her aptitude (and enthusiasm) for the craft quickly became apparent. She raced through her lessons, consuming knowledge like a sponge and turning it back with new ideas and better questions to ask to get more.. A genuine prodigy, Anneila was indulged a little by her masters and peers (most of which were older than her) turning her into a bit of a scamp.
Anneila and several other apprentices were taking a restday at a near by hold when the group was approached by a dragon rider there on business. Anneila, along with one or two others, was given the chance to return with them as a Canddiate for the Weyr. Although she loved her craft, always an adventurous sort, Anneila agreed, arranging to continue her studies with a local Master. She impressed Xaroth after standing for a few turns, and completed her weyrling training at the Weyr. Just before graduating, Anneila got swept up in a green flight, days before leaving the Weyr. It was Xaroth's first time chasing and she got carried away by it all, ending up sleeping with another of the riders involved.
Thinking nothing of it, she set off back to the Starcrafting Hall, deciding to go by sea in a straight flight to practice the navigational aspects of her craft. But sure enough, ten months later, Timor was born in a Starcrafting Hall in Southern. Ten turns later, a suprisingly similar fling, this one with a green rider from Western, left her with Cinndi. Anneila was left with a choice. She didn't want to give up her career for her kids, but nor did she want to leave them behind somewhere, remembering what that was like when she was young. Instead, she decided she could make it work where she was. Timor, at least, was easy. The old masters at her Hall were like doting grandparents, helping the girl take care of her son while she finished her craft training.
Once she did, Timor was old enough that she could bring him along where she went. He was blessedly well behaved, falling asleep anywhere and never really making a nuisance of himself. He was a great help with Cinndi as well, when she was young, getting her to stop crying or to fall asleep when even Anneila couldn't. Meanwhile, she continued travelling all across Pern in pursuit of her craft and her research. Though she sometimes worried if her kids would prefer a more stable life, she felt at her heart that they were better off with a mother that was happy than being left somewhere, or with her how she would be if she was confined to a Hold. They might have missed out on some things, but she gave them many more in return. And their life was one of constant adventure.
Recently, Anneila has encouraged her son Timor to Stand at High Reaches and hopes to see him one day impress. Meanwhile, her and Cinndi have been travelling with a sea captain, studying navigational techniques on the open sea.

DRAGON
Name: Xaroth
Age: 20
Color: Blue
Size:
Physical Description: Xaroth has a decidedly intimidating appearance. With a dark hide and bony structure he looks like some terrifying monster from a story.
Personality: Contrary to his appearance Xaroth is a big softy who doesn't understand why he sometimes people off. He knows he's not as attractive as some blues with the jeweled and sparkling hides. Quiet and a little gruff, awkward with his complements, he doesn't excel at the kind of flattery or charisma that can carry some males through a flight. But he has a gentle sweetness that's always worrying about others and wanting to make sure they're alright.
Endearingly honest and patiently tolerant, Xaroth is a quiet but composed blue with a professorial feel. He has an excellent memory for facts, and an even better memory than his rider for dates and times, but does not like to debate things at length. He will state what knows as he knows it and if someone else disagrees, so be it.
